DDE and Dining Plan both for one meal?

If you are on the dining plan (free or not) and also have a DDE card, can you use the card for non-dining plan items (like alcohol or extras).

I tried to find the answer through a search and the FAQ, but couldn't...

I don't see why not, but inform your server first, since it will probably need to be on two tickets, one for the items in the dining plan, one for the DDE items.

We are hoping to do the same thing. My MIL will be joining us and we have the dining plan for our meals and are hoping to use the DDE for hers.

comes on a separate check anyway that needs to be settled with your server. So if you were to hand them your DDE card and your room key, I imagine they would be able to handle the discount and charge accordingly.
