DDE and DDP Can we do both?

We are having a Disney wedding and part of our package includes 2 AP's. I activated mine, went solo in January and bought the DDE.

Because most of our trip will be our honeymoon, we have several ADR's at Signature restaurants (California Grill, Artist Point) and we are staying on property at CSR.

We will be doing 1 meal at O'Hana's with a large group of people, and we had planned to use our DDE card there for the discount (for up to 10 people)

I also made an ADR for six at CRT...(was also planning to use the DDE for this group.)

I am wondering if, because the DDE doesn't offer any discount at the Pepper Market at our resort (only Maya Grill) and the fact that we would be using 2 TS credits for several dinners, if it makes sense to add the DDP as well.

Can we do both? We want some flexibility, so we thought having both would give us that, and some GREAT food we wouldn't otherwise get!!

We've always stayed with family in the past and drove to Disney, so never had to eat 10 days worth of food on property!!

Will this be of value for 2 people, or should we stick with the DDE?


I don't even want to get into the drama of having to change our reservation as it is now as a AAA room-only rate to a AAA package (we love our current TA and local AAA here is crappy)...and hoping for a potential AP discount at some point... UGH!!! We don't want to change to the AP rack room package with dining at this point, since it seems the AAA might be a better deal!

You can use both. When we've been on the DDP we've used the DDE for non-plan items such as alcohol. We (2 adults) plan to eat at 2-TS restaurants and for this year's trip when I compared DDP with DDE the value was coming out at about the same if we used all our DDP credits. We spend a lot of time offsite so I don't think we'd use all our snack and CS credits so for that reason I decided not to get the DDP and use DDE instead. If you know you will be using all your credits and you plan to order expensive items from the 2-TS menus then the DDP can be a better deal - otherwise, stick with the DDE.
