DDE "Advance Dining Reservation" Question

Because of the oh-so-voluminous amount of paperwork that was sent with my DDE card (sarcasm) I'm not entirely clear on one particular point.

Ok, they opened up this program to AP holders (in addition to Florida Residents, who've had it for years) in response to the MYW dining plan. There's a special phone number for DDE people to call for dining reservations, just like (I think?) a special number for MYW people to call for theirs.

Don't they hold a certain amount of tables for MYW people for their ADRs so they can get into places later and not have to fight for "choice" places like the rest of us plebeians? Do DDE people get the same sort of courtesy?

I ordered my cards last Mon and I asked this question and the CM said to just call the regular PS ressie number and that I didn't have to mention the card.Don't know how accurate this is but that's what I was told a week ago. I hope I could help a little. :teeth:

I think this is true...I hope this is true... :rotfl:

Thus far I've only made my PS/ADR's under the regular number and didn't alert them to the fact that I'd be using DDE. :teeth:

From my understanding the regular number is fine. When I made my PS's at the 90 day mark I made sure that I asked if it was a DDE rest--and was confirmed at the time. I had explained that I would be ordering a card before my trip.(I ordered yesterday)--so I would think we are OK.

If you make a PS/ADR for the Luau or HDDR that require prepayment be sure to tell the CM that you have DDE so they can bill you with the 20% discount.

Please note that you can only get the discount at the late show.

This is actually slightly worrying.

I'm not asking if we have to "warn" them ahead of time to get the discount, as I know we don't.

I'm asking if we get "preferred" seats, like the MYW people seem to be getting. Unless I'm completely misreading the posts people are making about calling up like 10 days in advance and getting sold out times on the MYW plan when people who are't on that plan can't get ADRs for the same restaurants at those times.

I could very well be wrong but I don't think there is any preferred seating etc with the DDE card. I think it is the same as for everyone else. You just get the 20% off.

We were there at Easter. I have the DDE card we were eating mostly with my DD and SIL who had the meal plan. When we made our ps's we did not tell dining reservations that we were DDE or dining plan. I don't think there is any "preferred seating" or any limit on tables for DDE or dining plan.
