Merry Christmas, Gents! May everyone have a wonderful fun filled day with family, and your bellies full with good food. And a Happiest of Belated Birthday, @londontime!

Happy Wednesday. I gave myself a great present and have re-retired. I've realized that chasing a job for $ isn't working for me. I know what I'm looking for, or at least what I'm not looking for, and just plan to wait for it.

That's awesome! Congratulations! Waiting can be hard, but it can pay off. May you get what you want, my friend.

That's what I was doing this morning as well, although it was extra cold without a bathrobe. :scared1:

Enjoy that eye candy bleach for the rest of the day. :lmao:

o_O :eek::faint:

Alas, the only chance I have with Bond girls would be with access to a bank account of our COVID stimulus bill proportions.

Question for you: If you had a chance to take a Bond girl out on a date, which one would you choose?

This year of COVID and cancel culture sure has taken its toll on me. You can't disagree with the narrative. I've not seen so much hate or division before. It doesn't feel like Christmas.

I agree, the hate and division is at a serious level, and if it doesn't change....well, it won't be good. The hate a division in this country has made me limit myself on Book Face, and my life, or mood, is a lot better for it.

But they certainly seem to be the ones who thrive. I'm not sure how to change to get there, but I sometimes wish I didn't care as much.

I know, and I wish I knew what to say, but it irritates me, too. We had a saying in the military that I think explains a lot here, "It's not who you know, it's who you..." I won't finish as this is a family friendly site, but you get the picture. Basically, it's all connections.

I saw a FB Meme about senior High School student quotes. "When I die, I want my group project members to be pallbearers at my funeral, so they can let me down one last time."

It's really bad when you have to work with others who don't want to work.

Ouch! That's harsh, but true.

Been too long since checking in here. Hope and trust all are doing well and getting ready for Christmas and New Years, lord knows we need a new year. Wanted to make sure to stop in and wish all of you and your families a Merry Christmas! Be safe and Cher’s!

Welcome back!

I'm soooo glad I had my shopping done early. All the stores have been on lockdown for weeks and only essential items are available. Curbside and online shopping is allowed, but... I usually prowl around looking for something. Not this year (at this time, I mean.)

I use to work at The Disney Store, and I use to tell guests who were going to the World for the first time, "If you see something you like, GET IT, because you will never find it again no matter how hard you try." and that's usually how I approach my Christmas shopping throughout the year. Unfortunately, this year I didn't do that and I regret it. Thankfully my DW was on top of things this year.

:lmao:

I did! Now I have to recover.

Hope you had a beer afterwards.

Evening from a dark Westfield NB. I have to work 4 hours tomorrow then I'm off until well forever,...... then every day will be Saturday I'm retiring. I may do some part time once in a while, so I can ease into retirement, but after 44 years of working 50+ hours a week I'm ready to take it easy.

Congratulations! That's awesome! If you work part-time, find something fun to do.

No I'm not, could be a busy afternoon tomorrow,

So...how was your afternoon?

I learned today that people are starting to call today, “Christmas Adam”. Because Adam came before Eve... 😏

:thumbsup2

I finally realized I'm working for future dreams instead of just enjoying the present. I still have a few applications out there, and I'm only going to take what I want.

That's awesome. Enjoy the journey.

Ironically, I can too...but I lived in both places.

:thumbsup2

DW was at walgreens (greens not mart) last night and she said it was a zoo. Never would've thought a drugstore would be a last minute shopping frenzy place. :wow:

 I was one of those shoppers at CVS and Walgreens looking for last minute stocking stuffer stuff. Great place for things like that.

Hello gents. Sorry for the drive by and being MIA for a few weeks.
I got very busy at work and then my time off was spent trying to get ready for Christmas.
I'm back working over the holidays, but since I am still employed I won't complain too much about that. Working from home makes it much easier.

Just wanted to wish one and all a Merry Christmas. I hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome back, Jeff! Good to hear you're still working.

It's like Costco. If you see it now, you won't see it tomorrow.
Hope you had a beer afterwards.
Not a beer drinker, so... nope. Does ice tea count?

This deserves its own post...

Question for you: If you had a chance to take a Bond girl out on a date, which one would you choose?

This is much more complicated then at first glance. What are the criteria? Some of the Bond girls are quite old now or even passed away. I submit that this has to be answered as how they appeared on screen or at the age they appeared.

And it's still not an easy question.
At first I thought... Ursula Andress. I mean... she's iconic.
Famke Janssen is a strong contender. So is Barbara Bach. Caroline Munro... <sigh> Soooo many to chose from.

But I have to go with Jayne Seymour. She got my motor running the most when I first saw her.
Denise Richards is a close second.

Merry Christmas All!

First round of of gifts done, I've got the ham baking in the over, MIL has the turkey and everything else. For now just having a Christmas bourbon and watching some basketball. 5 years ago I was at this game.

Ice tea most definitely counts.

It is very complicated, and yes, choose how they appeared on film.

Now, as for me? That's a tough question because I can't decide right now....I'll have to really think about it.

was not an easy decision!! I’m still not 100% sure.

Merry Christmas fellas. Currently in food coma.
Kids are now in bed, they did awfully well for themselves.
Thanks for the birthday wishes.
I'll weigh in (pun intended) on who to get jiggy with in the Bond girls stakes once my brain has moved passed calorie processing.

This is the pez way.

Good that you figured out what's best for present you. ::yes::

Well, the best present for me would to be on my own private tropical island with unlimited booze, seafood, and babes.

Re-congratulations I guess. I've told people for years it don't matter how much you're getting paid if you're miserable. Although, my misery with millions would look a lot less like my misery with hundreds.

As I've not been offered millions, I don't know for sure. But, I'm willing to try if you have some a few millions to spare.

That's awesome! Congratulations! Waiting can be hard, but it can pay off. May you get what you want, my friend.

Thanks. I've never been this route before. Maybe the "Costanza" approach will work out for me.

There have been many of them. The movie that first jumped in my mind was "License to Kill" with Timothy Dalton. I thought both girls were hot. I will go back and do a search though and see if I can find another option.

The Red Challenge flag and VAR have conferred. Upon further review, Halle Berry wins the Bond girl contest. Denise Richards gets the honorable mention.

Morning, Gents! I hope we all had a good Christmas. I had a wonderful Christmas with the family. I had a wonderful day filled with gifts and lots of food. Now we can sit back and enjoy the weekend.

As for the Bond girl question. Well, that's a tough one. My first choice would be Daniella Bianchi, Tatiana Romanova in From Russian With Love. However, Jayne Seymour looked good as well. Then there's Rosamund Pike who played Miranda Frost in Die Another Day...yeah, I know, not the main girl, but she was cute. Tough. Still tough, but in the end I'd have to go with Lea Seydoux, Dr. Madeleine Swann from Spectre.

My friends and family be warned. Bwahahahahahahaha

Certainly a good choice.

Morning All, Happy Boxing Day!!

Another wet one here, good day to stay inside.

Question for you: If you had a chance to take a Bond girl out on a date, which one would you choose?

First choice Halle Berry, second choice Sophie Marceau followed by Michelle Yeoh.

Evening chaps from a Chilly Old Country. In that weird phase of longer holidays where you can;t work out what day of the week it is. As Boxing Day, a public holiday fell on a Weekend we get this Monday off as well, so happy days.
On the plus side, spent half the day being a travel agent to the missus, which has its ups and downs, as I can't imagine Travel Agents yell at their clients "Oh for Christ's sake, just make up your mind"
So we are headed to land of our commonwealth brethren on this thread in the week running up to Xmas 21. First time the kids go skiing, so that will be cool. I only expect a few of you at the airport to greet me, so happy for you to work it out between yourselves, because as you well know everything in Canada is just around the corner to each other if someone could give me a lift to my hotel that would be much appreciated.

On the Bond Girl side, some very good examples in the comments above, none of which would be kicked out of bed for eating cheetos.
Eva Green as Vesper Lynd is also a bit saucy.

East Coast or West Coast skiing?

Not a fan of Eva Green, some of her "scenes" from 300: Rise of an Empire were enough to put the fear into any man.

😉

As I'm in the country to the south, I can't be at the airport to greet you, or take you to the hotel, so I'll leave that up to my Canadian brothers for that one.

However, Eva Green as Vesper Lynd? Mmmmm That's delicious.

Never saw the movie, so I'm now curious to go and look her up in the 300 movie

East Coast, as its only a week. West Coast is too brutal on Jet Lag.....
Tremblant or 4 days and then Montreal for 3.

Happy Boxing Day. We boxed up all the Christmas stuff today, which I figure is the origin of the name. Waiting on Christmas themed towels to finish drying, and then I will pack up everything in the storage underneath the stairs.

I get Monday off too. Imagine that.

I think we are doing Disney the week before you in 2021, hoping to get there before the big crowds and try a MVMCP. Hopefully, the masks will be done away with by then, unless they are now a new permanent. If you make it to MCO, I'll see you there. You did mean water skiing, right? :lmao:

Green pez candies?

Can I throw in a couple of steaks from time to time? Otherwise... pretty much nailed it. (Maybe them too. :rolleyes1 )

No arguments here. Although... I didn't particularly like the character, as it seemed (to me at least) pretty apparent that they were hoping to spin her off on her own movie series.

Oh, man...

So quick story. See the two maps below

546216

546217

Pre-internet, if you wanted to see what a country looked like, you opened an atlas.
If you didn't pay attention to scale... well, in the above maps, the distance from Winnipeg to Halifax is roughly the same as Cologne to Dresden.
We had some people from Germany coming to Halifax... and they asked if my dad could pick them up at the airport.
It's only about a 36 hour drive.
It's been my (limited) experience that people from Europe, when coming here for the first time, are quite taken aback at the distance between... everything.
Eva Green as Vesper Lynd is also a bit saucy.
::yes::

I think at this point, there are no wrong choices.
