DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
DW, who does do FB was watching something funny earlier. Since you can't get stuff in facecrook out of facecrook, I decided a simple web search. If you've seen it before, disregard.

Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven

Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven. When he gets to Heaven the gates are closed, but standing by the gate is St. Peter himself. He says, “Well Forrest, it’s certainly good to see you. We’ve heard a lot about you. I must tell you though, that the place is filling up fast so we’ve been giving an entrance exam to everyone.”

The test is short, he explains, “But you have to pass it before you can get into Heaven.” Forrest is a bit surprised about this and says, “Shor hope the test ain’t too hard; life was a big enough test as it was.”

So, St. Peter proceeds with the three question test. “First,” he says. “What two days of the week begin with the letter T? Next, how many seconds are there in a year? And last, what’s God’s first name?”

Forrest leaves the gates to ponder the questions, but the next day returns to give St. Peter his answers. Forrest looks at St. Peter and says, “The first one, which two days in the week begin with the letter T, well that’s easy. That’d be Today and Tomorrow.”

St. Peter is a little surprised and says although that wasn’t what he was thinking, Forrest has a good point so he decides to give him credit for his answer. “How about the second question?” he says.

“Now that one is harder,” said Forrest. “But I thunk about it and I guess the only answer can be 12.” St. Peter replies, “Forrest, how can you come up with 12 seconds in a year?”

“Well there’s gotta be 12,” said Forrest. “January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd…” St. Peter interrupts Forrest and says that although that isn’t what he had in mind, he’ll let it pass.

Finally, St. Peter asked Forrest for the answer to the third question. “Sure,” said Forrest. “It’s Andy.” The Saint is exasperated at this point and says, “Andy?! What makes you think Andy is God’s first name?”

“Well,” replied Forrest. “I learned it from the song. ‘Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me, Andy tells me I am his own…'” Without missing a beat, St. Peter opens the gate to Heaven and says, “Run Forrest, run!”

Morning Gents.

Another beautiful morning here, suppose to be nice and getting warmer for the next few day. Hopefully the river doesn't get much past the current level and the area avoids bad flooding.

Since it's Thursday I guess we should do a little TBT. My mother has been posting old pictures lately so I stole one of my younger brothers and myself.

Morning gents.
No TBT photos here. Lucky you!

Since it's Thursday I guess we should do a little TBT. My mother has been posting old pictures lately so I stole one of my younger brothers and myself.
I totally recognize you in that!

 That's awesome. Love the suspenders. What were you hollerin' about?

Afternoon Dads and a very happy Friday Eve! Hope all are doing doing well. Unfortunately I will be keeping this one from today for future TBT photos with a bit of historical perspective - out in the warehouse.

Definitely recognize you both in these

Have a good one gents - cheers!

#TBT...ok I'll play along.
12 years ago this month...happier times...part of me misses the hat.
Oldest DD's first visit (she's now 20)
We left youngest DD home with grandparents since she was only a few months old.
Might I also say that I still have and occasionally wear that t-shirt (although it might fit a little tighter than it did then)

I have the same shirt as well and it is getting snug. All this quarantine eating needs to come to an end.

Morning boys form a sunny but chilly London. The Curly haired Ninja is watching Pixar in real life on Disney Life. It's a little funny. Japan was fun, making sushi in "Hello Kitty's Cafe" , but they tasted better than they looked.
I thought I was on a Disney dating site?
So you swiped right then?
That's awesome. Love the suspenders
It's amazing how context is everything. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Well, this dating site got kinky real quick. Not complaining, just for reference.

Yep, that view is completely different now. I miss the hat. I also miss Roger Rabbit in the Parks.
Annnnnd…. it's flippin' snowing again! Enough!!!!
This is pretty late even for you guys, no? Or is this pretty normal?

Yeah, I have been "on vacation" for the last 2 weeks, gained 4 pounds, so back to the straight and narrow on Monday.

Have a fabulous Friday, y'all.

Morning, Gents! Had a full day of working in the warehouse yesterday, which was a nice change of pace as it made the day go by real quick. I officially applied for the open job at work. My supervisor came to me and encouraged me to apply, BUT, told me that if someone applies with 5 to 10 years warehouse experience they'd have to give him a serious consideration. I brushed it off, but thought to myself (d*ck). That's obvious that they would consider someone with more experience and already has their hazmat qualifications, but why even mention it? If he HAD to say something, why not just something like, "You've been here for 7+ months and have a very good chance of getting it, but we do have to consider all who apply." I'm not worried, but this just makes it easier for me to leave when I find that perfect job. Don't get me wrong, my supervisor is a really nice guy, he just does things that are annoying sometimes. Oh well, enough of that. Been a good week overall and am looking forward to the weekend. After having cleared/cleaned and somewhat organized part of the basement last weekend, I feel the need to keep that momentum going. So I'm going to spend some time cleaning and organizing the basement. Outside that? Who knows. Well, gents, have a good day and we'll chat later.

Oh, any zoom meet ups this weekend?

old me that if someone applies with 5 to 10 years warehouse experience they'd have to give him a serious consideration.
As I was reading this and your comments, a thought occurred to me...
Is he by chance trying to help you? Maybe not get your hopes up too much? As you said, he's a nice guy, so maybe he's trying to set expectations in his own way. Just a thought. I know it sucks for you with the uncertainty, but setting realistic expectations is something a good manager (or even employee) should do. Again, just a thought and/or possible different perspective.

Oh, any zoom meet ups this weekend?
I have not seen any here. Don't do FB, so dunno if anything was talked about or posted there.

Morning, boys.

So today is supposed to be a running day. And I’ll give it my best shot. But I’m limping because of my Achilles and I slightly put my back out again yesterday. Pretty stiff and sore this morning, but hoping moving around will loosen things up enough to at least try.

In other news...
RunDisney has virtual 5Ks. So I signed up DD23 and myself. Credit to her for finding out about it. Registration for the three (we signed up for one) opened yesterday. Took me half an hour to register but we got in. I went to show her the medals later in the day and all three races were already sold out! Hoping I’ll be well enough to actually do it. They do say you can walk them (but we’ll try to run), so I should be okay.
This is pretty late even for you guys, no? Or is this pretty normal?
Yes it is. Not unheard of, but. Yeah.
Yeah, I have been "on vacation" for the last 2 weeks, gained 4 pounds, so back to the straight and narrow on Monday.
Ditto. Who knew running could make you gain weight?

:rolleyes1

Much better than boredom.

“That’s okay. When I find a job where people are treated with respect, I’ll be quitting anyways and you’ll have another chance to find someone.”

Okay, this is a bit scary/weird/idiotic...

I was on amazon searching for unscented (DW is hyper sensitive to scents/perfumes) and found...

Strawberry Flavor hand sanitizer???????

"Sprinter" continues here today. Light dusting of snow overnight. But it seems like a few places have been getting cold weather and snow lately.
Certainly not unheard of to have snow this time of year in eastern Canada, but after a week or rain and slightly warmer temperatures last week, I had hoped we turned the corner on this long winter.

The Curly haired Ninja is watching Pixar in real life on Disney Life.
I watched some of that too. I thought it was kid of funny, but nothing spectacular.

I went to show her the medals later in the day and all three races were already sold out!
Not sure if it's correct, but I thought I read that they won't ship the medals to Canada. It was a random comment I barely noticed from a FB Disney group. I didn't pay much attention since I don't do RunDisney - but probably should or at least get my butt off the couch.

Hmm...suspicious indeed. They pretty much just threw any search word into the description. Probably not high quality stuff.

Top O the Mornin Dads! As always during this time hope all are safe and healthy. Enjoy the weekend and here's to the next Dole Whip, Mickey Bar, Bloody Mary at Dawa with bacon, pint at Rose & Crown and to that next walk into MK at RD and taking in that view, I hope they dust the place before we head down Main Street the next time. Cheers fellas and have a great weekend.

Now that you mention it, I do kinda miss the hat. Wish they would have incorporated a smaller version somewhere.
