Hey guys, beautiful day around here.
Not Florida temperatures, but at least sunny and above the freezing point.
I'm still working from home but going to say screw it and go for a short walk around the block with the family.
I'll call it my coffee break.

Again...take the full time job and don't have any reservation/guilt about moving on when you find a good job. It's not as if they haven't strung you along and taken advantage of you. Loyalty (as with respect) must be earned and in my mind they've done nothing to earn your loyalty.

You are correct, I just need to stop worrying about it and take the job. It'll probably be a year before I find something I really want anyways.

Wait! Replaced or capped? At one point you said replaced and another you said capped. The reason I ask is my son is a master plumber and I recall him telling me once the valve is CRITICAL...it prevents the tank from exploding if it gets too hot. Just concerned.

What my friend did, and what I meant to say, was the valve at the bottom of the tank that you attach a hose to to drain it was leaking. He capped that valve and not the expansion valve that releases the pressure. He never touched the expansion valve, which as you know, releases pressure.

I understand. I actually have a pretty good range and probably could get up there, but not comfortably and probably wouldn't sound great since I'd have to work/strain. Sang in church choir for several years and even did a couple solos, but never considered myself a great singer. I was more commenting on you have a good voice and although I enjoy singing, I haven't had any training and still struggle with reading music. I also (because of singing along with radio my whole life) tend to want to harmonize. Speaking of harmony...can't say as I have a clue when the choir director says melody, not harmony. Um, okay...demonstrate it for me and I can copy it.

That's cool that you sang in the choir, I did for several years as well, its a great way to fulfill the need for music. And I'm sure with a little help and study, you'd be able to read music fairly quickly. I can read music, but I'm a horrible sight reader.

Not that I can sing as well as them, but here are a couple of the songs I did as a solo:

(They didn't do as a solo, but I couldn't find the version I did [By Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir]) It was a male soloist with choir backup, same as I did. Tough song because the accompaniment (hey, I spelled it right...always have problems with that word) was very minimal, so my timing was crucial. My daughter was in pre-K (she's 19 now) and I practiced every day taking her to daycare. She knows the song almost as well as I do.

Okay, this started playing automatically and I will say...I did better than this guy. His voice sounds very shaky/tentative to me.

Motorocycle accident. Long before I grew up and before I became a motorcycle safety instructor. Made several mistakes I later learned how to avoid. One was riding while upset (big mistake...you tend to be so focused on your anger, you miss things or don't analyze them).

It's short hand for That's What She Said. One of @Cinderella's Fella favorite new sayings after DDCC8. That and "you're my favorite". He also likes to ask me if I live in Florida. Inside joke...evidently, I mention it too often...not intentionally...I think initially, just because I was so happy and then it morphed to letting new guys to the dis know so if they wanted to meet up. I know it's all in good fun, so it doesn't bother me and it's kinda a fun thing Randall and I tease back and forth with (as I said, inside joke).

I've heard the saying before, but never seen abbreviation of it before.

I love inside jokes like that.

Afternoon chaps. Sunny and warm(ish) today. Japan on the eating around the world challenge today, so teaching the kids how to make sushi (well, Maki) tonight. We dug Rock Band out of the back of the cupboard and now the kids are murdering various classics. I might send them over to CCT for a bit of training.

The boy got through all of the sauces and one extra hot one, so many of you guessed correctly.

Send them to me and I'll get them to sing right! I'm a hard taskmaster when it comes to singing. *pulls out the wet noodles* "Work, you mangy scoundrels!"

See, that's exactly what a Karaoke hustler would say.

This seems like a sensible option. Like someone has said before, as soon as what you need comes up, be off with you. Whilst simultaneously giving them the finger. Because as an outside viewer, they have been effin' scoundrels.

Right?! I've been screwed a few times, and it won't be the last. I'll take the job as I need it, but as soon as something comes along, *BAM* I'm gone!

Evening all from a powerless Westfield NB. We lost our power yesterday in the storm and are running on a generator. The hydro crew have been on our street for about 10 hrs now,a large tree came down on the lines two houses down the street. they finished cutting the tree around 6 and are hoping to have the downed lines repaired in 4-6 hrs.

Because the pandemic isn't enough fun...

Well, found out yesterday that my current job officially posted the open position to fill when they fired the guy in the warehouse. I know I need a job, and I'm already doing it, but I don't want to get locked into a shipping and receiving/inventory clerk job for the rest of my life. I know, I can move on, and I plan to, but once I accept this job it becomes harder (for me at least) to move on once I find the right job. I know, the right job isn't going to come along tomorrow. I'll probably apply for it, I need the work.

Well, we think we know what the problem was with regards to my hot water heater: Leaking valve. It was replaced and we'll keep an eye on it to see if we get anymore leaks.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Let's get through the day in one piece so that we can get over the midway point. Don't know about you guys but it's starting to gnaw at me how long this is gonna go on and how long til we can back to more normal like going on vacation, going to a sporting event or concert, eating out at dinner without everyone looking like pre-op at the hospital? Tip of the hat though to those on the front lines provide medical emergency and healthcare services and those are really some remarkable folks with all they are dealing with. Enjoy hump day and stay safe.

I'm right there with ya! I want things to get back to normal, as normal as it can get. I miss having breakfast every Saturday with friends.

Glad it wasn't a total replacement. That's good news.

It is getting a bit repetitive and I do wonder how things will go as we move forward. This is a scary time for a lot of people and the amateur sport world is no different. We're having lots of discussions right now about what our landscape will look like when we are allowed to start up again. Clubs and associations that rely on membership/registration fees are in grave danger. I've spoken with about 11 clubs from different sports in the last week and they have projections of up to 1.5 million in lost revenue over the next 6 months. Lots of money for volunteer-based organizations to lose out on.

This will go on for a couple of years. I do a lot with the theater community here on Cape Cod, and I suspect there will be theater companies that won't survive this.

I've actually never knew you were supposed to drain it once a year...might have to ask about that. And as far as I can see, it's a cap that can be unscrewed when needed.

Back at work today. Slept through the night and the pain is no worse so I will just ignore it and call it aging until proven otherwise.
