DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning folks.
So glad I'm not working another 16 hour shift today.

15 hours is much better.
Oh well. Tomorrow. I'll get to sleep in tomorrow.

Things about Oak Island that I totally don't understand - They find all these small pieces of pottery or dishes, but never find a big chunk or multiple pieces that fit together ( when they hid this stuff did they break into a million pieces and scatter it all over:confused3. Matter of fact nothing they find is ever complete (except for the lead cross and a few coins), think about it when Dino bones from millions of years are found most of the bones are in the immediate area:scratchin. Maybe the island use to host Greek Weddings and there was a bunch of plate breaking:duck:.

 Mystery solved!
"Alesandro, where are we going to host beloved Diana's wedding?"
"Well, I know this little out of the way island that'd be perfect... besides, I lost an old cross there on the beach, last time I was there, so I could look for it at the same time."

My favorite guest on the show is the German researcher, he kind of reminds me of a young Dr Doofenshmirtz:thumbsup2
:rotfl2:

same here,I have watched all 6 seasons and cant quit now.
My thinking is that a lot of these objects and structures were laid in while building up a smaller island. then again it could all be from searchers too...

I think most of it is from searchers. And yet... some is quite old (like the cross, for instance), which, archaeologically, is interesting.

a good drinking game to play would be to do a shot every time the narrator says "could it be..."

How drunk do you want to get???

 Yes but that plate was clearly broken by a Templar Knight while he took his lunch break from digging an underground vault to house the Ark of the Covenant containing Shakespeare's manuscripts.

Well, d'uh. No need to belabour the obvious.

Ouch. Yeah that's not cool.

And yet... here I am.

Well, it certainly isn't here on Oak Island.

 You know there's such a thing as alcohol poisoning, right?

Some of us (okay maybe just me) don't.
Never seen it and based on y'all's conversations, don't think I see it in my future either. I don't watch a lot of TV anyway, but I can think of much better things to do with my time.

You're better off.

we have survived yesterday freak storm. Dumped about 25 to 20 centimeters here in about 5 hours. Lots of trouble getting up the hills in town and even pulled the buses for a bit because they were sliding all over the road. By 5:30 the sun was out and the roads were clear. Crazy weather! Today it is sunny and around the freezing mark.

Man that's a ton of snow for just a day.
We're expecting a couple centimeters and I'm not happy about that!

Pretty sure he just repeats the same 4 or 5 lines.

Could it be? Repeating the line 4 or 5 lines?

I only watch when I am forced to because DW watches every week.

Been there.

And in breaking news (at least for me), I just learned that Dan Blankenship (age 95) has passed away on March 17th.

No! Snow in April is just plain wrong.

Get the spend a couple of hours this afternoon answering questions for sport and recreation students at the local university. They are always amazed when we fill them in on how much money they will make working in the amateur sport system. For some you can almost see the hope just run out of their bodies.

Great job! Keep on crushing those hopes and dreams! :rotfl2:

Top O the Mornin Dads! Not much going on around here, looking like one of our toughest years sales wise since the early 200's and to borrow one of Rob's words, the "overlords" have forgotten the 15 year run of growth at both the top and bottom line. Hey Randall, hows that retirement gig? Be safe out there guys (6/71)

that's quite the sales history file you have there, buddy. Were you selling to the Romans? Are we gonna see some of your stuff turn up on Oak Island?

Dang it!! You beat me to it. Was gonna say a company with an 1,800 year track record probably knows what it's doing.

It's a hard row to hoe, but somebody has to do it. Driving to Disney tomorrow for the weekend...
Well that doesn’t sound like too shabby a weekend there, Chief....
Have a great one

Well it looks like I'm the nightwatchman.

Morning boys from Lego towers. Sunny but chilly here in the mother country. A double espresso in on the desk. No meetings or conference calls today, so a little go on the PS4 later may be in order.
Hopefully the only thing working hard today in our collective group is Norm's liver.

Have a great day boys.

Morning All.

A bit chilly here this morning but otherwise a nice day. Looking forward to another volleyball tournament this weekend and spending some time with the family.

Have a great Friday all.

TGIF dads,DW and DD are taking off today for 4 days leaving me and the dog to fend for our selves. what to do with a weekend to my self?

Morning Dads. TGIF indeed. A few flurries in the skies here today. Boo hiss. But thankfully nothing near the snow my New Brunswick brothers had yesterday. The forecast over the next few days had temps just a few degrees above freezing and possible precipitation, so we're flirting with disaster.

what to do with a weekend to my self?
I hope you enjoy it! If you're like me, your diet will consist mainly of pizza, wings, and rum for the next 48 hours.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Got tickets to final reg season game tomorrow night between Nashville and my not in the playoffs again Blackhawks. Preds can clinch division with a win tomorrow night so most of the office is dressed in Preds gear today - annoying band wagon don't know a blue line from the red line ........... Anyway looking forward to hanging downtown with DW and some of the soccer parents to hopefully see my Hawks play spoiler.

Also have about "200" hours til booking FP+ for June trip, looking forward to a $200 Chicago steak dinner in Chicago next week with the boy, I have a couple hundred honey do list things to attack, wife picked up a $200 Disney gift card for upcoming trip and I have given DS a $200 spending limit for Star Wars Celebration. I have a couple hundred more things to share but will save for my next 200 posts ;). Have a great weekend gents! (5/70)

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one standing in the Dawa Bar with Randall for several rounds of Lost on Safaris gets to go home with Gamora. But let me tell ya, you'll have to get in line behind Groot. Apparently Gamora is attending to his twig and berries.

Have a great weekend chaps.
