DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I think its like when you had a crush in High School, you used to make fun of the girl to get her attention. ;)
To paraphrase Billy Joel...

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a job playing with Legos I'm looking for

I am a bit envious, but I'm happy for you Dan!

:cool1:
Well, it's not often you get to quote Billy Joel entirely in context.

Thanks for the vibes, and...

Don't go changing
To try and please me
You never let me down before.....

(oo - oo-oo oo-oo)

So... is the likelihood of you stepping on a Lego more or less?
Distinctly less as I am sat on my arris all morning on conference calls.
Sunshine again but frost on the car this morning, so the icy grasp of winter isn't quite gone yet
So Sheila is still about?
Well, to quote one of the featured members.
"Oo-woo woo-woo woo-woo woo!"

Now that's riveting all on its own, isn't it?
Sounds unmissable

Conference calls suck

Conference calls whilst playing with Legos not as bad.

I can neither confirm nor deny I've ever played with Legos during a conference call.

Morning All.

Some light flurries this morning, hoping it doesn't accumulate.

Morning, O Captains, My Captains. Working from home today, so have to resist the urge to youtube. The kids took over our home office and now it looks like the toy store threw up in there. So a bit like my actual office. Morning has thus far started well, with a toasted bacon sandwich and some of Colombia's finest.

And I hope you are referring to this:

Or even this:

See, now I've got to watch the first episode. And then someones gonna tell me, "Oh no, you have to stick with it" and before you know it I'm giving a rats rear about some random finding a saucer from 1860, and I have a deep understanding of the steps to obtain a archaeological permit in wherever.

Don't worry you can skip full seasons and still not miss much.

I hope he's doing OK, and hope the rest of the family comes out unscathed. All the best for your vacation.

Thanks, Jeff. He's still at home...but the fever is gone, at least.

Thanks, I'll have to look into it.
I'm not entirely sure what I would do with the meat I smoked though, since the girls could care less. More for me I suppose.

I would eat it, but that's just me.

It seems like they need awful amount of permits to do anything, haven't seen a town inspector ever checking any of the work out:confused3.

You're another optimist!
I think they might find a shard of pottery.

I have no idea what show this is referring to. I just figured I"d chime in about archaeological permits. We spend a ton of money doing archaeological studies on many projects, which all have to produce a report on the findings. I told my bosses that for the money we spend on them, I'd be happy to produce all of the reports for them. It would just be a matter of cutting and pasting from one report to the next:

"Native Americans once lived on this site in primitive dwellings. They farmed crops with primitive tools, and traveled primarily on horseback, foot, and via canoe in waterways...." Lather, rinse, repeat.

Morning, O Captains, My Captains.

You rang?

Good movie. Haven't seen it in a long time, though.

Filmed almost completely in Middletown, Delaware. Just a few miles from my home. The theater where they stage the Shakespeare play is the Everett Theater right on Main St. We've gone there several times for local shows and family night movies. Cool to see it on screen.

could it be... that the real curse of oak island is getting hooked watching this show expecting them to actually find treasure?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I haven't seen her at all but I'm always on the lookout for her Bush....I mean Brush...stupid typos....

Uh oh...you can keep it there....(although there's flurries in our forecast for Friday, so we'll see)

Welcome to Spring in Fredericton.

Top O the Mornin / Good Afternoon Dads! Don't think I've shared but DS and I will be heading to Chicago a week from today for 4 days of Star Wars fandom as we are attending the Star Wars Celebration. We have done 2 of these in the past when he was younger and they held them in the summer. He's skipping only 2 days of classes for this but he's making sure he is ahead on projects and such plus his GPA and attendance are solid - which was the deal to go. That's all I got - be safe out there and watch out for those LEGOs. (7 / 72)
Morning folks - waiting at the airport for my flight to Orlando, which is estimated to leave 40 minutes late. Dinner reservation at Beaches and Cream is looking a bit iffy, but we'll see when we get there. Might make it if we skip the DME bus and catch an Uber/Lyft in.
Hope you made it in time to partake of your reservation - have a blast!
If only there were a place where you could play with building blocks all day and call it work.
Shots fired!

And.......their off! "Here comes Doc sneaking one in until PK calls attention to it and starts stirring the pot (no, not that pot) to only be matched by Dan with a cleverly disguised moderate but kick to the parts referencing Doc is in love with him followed up again by PK trying to keep the embers burning only for some smart a$$ Irish guy thinking he is doing play by play of the entire conversation" :mic:

Went from paraphrasing Billy Joel to Meat loaf.

STOP RIGHT THERE!!!!
Before we go any further...

Oak Island 7 seasons Readers Digest version :happytv:. It's rumored that there is :sail:pirate: treasure on Oak Island. It's in the Monet Pit. Could it be that
( insert any piratespirate:pirate: explorer, or group) buried treasure here. This rock has a mark on it, could it be ( pirate: , Templar Knights, Sir Francis Bacon, Etc...)

left a marker , so they could find the treasure later. :sail: Hey Rick why don't we  ( dig a hole, drill a caisson, metal detector this). Ok Marty. :thumbsup2

Hey we found some(wood, parchment, bone.etc.) We need more data Craig. Ok let's  ( ground penetrating radar, seismic, carbon data this, etc..) Hey what's that Gary? Ooohweeeee, Holy Sheeemoly that's a Top Pocket find for sure. :banana:Hey Rick and Marty look what we found( spike , coin, leather, bone ):rolleyes1

What do you think Rick , should we send this for further testing? Typical Oak Island Marty , there are always more questions than answers. :confused3 We need

more data, so send everything to get tested, and find some world renowned expert. to render an opinion on what we found. We need to have a meeting in

the War Room . :rolleyes1 :drinking1 What's this costing Rick? About 15 million Canadian, so when we factor in the exchange, it's about $500 US Marty:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Not bad big brother, I've got millions to spend, I think I'll buy the Island. Thanks Marty, your the best little brother. :worship: Hey where else can you

spend millions, looking for treasure. Besides if we do find any treasure we get to pay the Government of Nova Scotia a royalty so we can keep it.

Seasons 8,9.10 spoiler. Reread above paragraph, repeat for each season. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Pretty sure that broken plate that they found on this week's episode was similar to one I saw at Walmart last week.
