Happy Friday! Almost caught up with field work and had a moment to pop in while it rains.

Life is the usual chaos though somewhat simpler. We sold the "vacation house", AKA the house we couldn't sell when we moved. Sold quick but took a beating on it. Not a surprise. My side of the family is known for making bad investments and decisions. Our purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others.

Another budget cut at work, two trips to the hospital for SWMBO in April because she had sepsis, and weekly trips to the physical therapist for DS because "he's weaker than an old person" from too much computer time according to his therapist. DD is the bright spot because I have the boys terrified of me. Other than that it will be a busy summer and I need to get the kids north to the grandparents sometime this summer. It will be a quick summer. School doesn't end until the first of June and then starts the first week in August.

It will be a quick weekend as well so y'all enjoy it for me. I'm in a meeting all day tomorrow for work. Anniversary on Sunday. She said "I don't want anything". Can't believe she still thinks I am that stupid after all these years.

She is better, thanks, though will have to really be careful of infections in the future because she has bacteria resistant to many antibiotics. All started with a UTI so tell the ladies in your life not to ignore them.

School year is always a guessing game here. Starting time is always first or second week of August. It has ended as early as late April and as late as early June. The kids lost a lot of time because of snow days (they have to wait for the snow to melt here in Appalachia), or floods which come after the snow melts, or they were out because the cold caused the pipes to freeze and there wasn't any water in the school.

There is indeed mate. We start with Cocktails and Pastries at 10, Watch the wedding at 12 (with a drinking game) Pulled pork and brisket at 2.30, Afternoon tea at 4.30, FA Cup at 5.30 until 7 and then drinking until whenever, but my money is on about 11pm.

And you probably posted that on the prayers thread, but since I don't get reminders on this new board, I didn't see it. That is scary and glad to hear she is ok. Full recovery? Prayers for her and DS. Good thing you know better on that anniversary. I got DW her perfume, a bag (free with overpriced perfume), and we went out to eat for Mother's Day at one of her favorite local restaurants. She didn't want anything this year either.

Why so short???

What Shawn didn't mention is that while backwoods Kentucky claims to hate the Federal Government, we depend on them for financial support. Since no one wants to live here, for the last 25 years that I remember, we give companies 0 taxes for life or some crazy deal like that if they will build businesses here. So, the Federal Government gives us money for #days attended school. So, when we miss 10-15 days of school for bad weather, then we have to make them up for the money. So, my youngest finished state testing today, which was set in the schedule last year, but still has to attend school until May 31. Well, that is 9 snow days to make up. So, we have pajama day, field day, movie day, field trip day, clean the school day, and whatever other ******** days the school can figure out to draw down that Federal money. The original school schedule called for Wednesday to be the last day of school. Sorry for the rant. Where's the beer?
