DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

Good Morning Guys,

Hope everyone is well.

Heading back to see what I missed. Was in NY for a few days. Good weather and played my best round of golf this year. Shot an 88 and was really hitting the ball well. For whatever reason, the par 3 holes were my nemesis. If I just shot a 4 on those holes, my score would have been 5 shots lower.

Update on the sports. Our baseball team, 4 seed in tournament, lost to the 13 seed in round 1 5-2. It was not an impressive showing. We did not hit well and 3 errors led to a lot of runs for our opponent. It was a good season overall. DD won her last regular season game last night and now we wait to see if we make the playoffs. She had 8 strike outs and pitched the best I've ever seen her pitch. 2-3 from the plate with a few RBI and runs scored. DD also had her last hoop tournament of the season over the weekend. The team went 2-1. DD played well, but the team was a little flat all weekend as a group. On to summer!

No, I don't want to skip June. Living in KY, May thru October is fine. After that, who really knows. Both DW and I plan to retire in Florida below Orlando and keep warm all the time. I just hope that plan works.

We are talking now about selling the house after the kids are out of college and purchasing 2 condo/townhouses. One around here for the summer and one in the south for winter. With the house values here, it seems a very possible solution to hating the extreme heat or cold. We'll have to see how it goes in a few years. I did get permission to look at the Florida properties now and if I can find a good deal we may just go ahead and buy when we find it.:thumbsup2

If it doesn't work out, CJ's lawn is still plan B.

Home from tennis tonite. The other player was my skill level, but almost 20 years younger. I lost the first set 2-6, but was even with him at 4-5 in 2nd before Court time ended. Not sure I would have had enough in the tank left to win, but glad I pushed him.

We've made over 15 trips to WDW but they still fight all the time. Maybe they can ride with you. I doubt you will notice two extra.

Well done on the tennis.

That is why we fly. I'm pretty sure that with a 22 hour drive (without stopping), there would be a death along the way.:crowded:

Hey All, we have to do our fast passes this Friday. Are there any sites that have all the rides at the parks, so I can print them up and let me kids choose stuff they want to ride?

I mean, I can basically figure it out, but I always miss one or two when I do it myself..

Don't you have the "My Disney" app? Makes it easy to see all the options and you can book them while you are looking at the list. If not, I would download that. If not, Touring Plans is a good site to use. Sorry it's late, was offline for a while.

Monday back at the office. :sad2:

:guilty: I don't like Mondays.

Been away for a few days. Plumbing issues at the house. The plumber called and postponed until tomorrow. Allows me the time to try some DIY and really screw things up. The kid headed out to WDW yesterday for a few days at the Boardwalk.

Tropical storm is way out in the Gulf and it is affecting us today. Overcast and not sure it is going to rain or not. It is about to hit Orlando later tonight/morning. Lots of rain on the mouse house.

It seems like yesterday I was at Freshman orientation for her HS and the Principal warned everyone to enjoy it because it is going to go by quickly. Now she is a college graduate. Time speeds up.

Good luck with the plumbing. Having a door replaced today after almost 3 weeks of stupidity.:sad2::sad2: Hoping they start the tiling in the foyer as well. They came out and had the wrong size door. They figured this out after removing the storm door and partially removing the main door. Had to reinstall the old door and order the right one. Easy you say.:confused3 Well, I guess not for these guys.:headache: They ordered a new door, but again the wrong size. Now after 3 weeks they should have the correct door, 3 attempts later and have it installed by the time I get home. Hopefully DW gives me a key to the new lock and lets me keep living there.:rolleyes1

Hopefully you've weathered TS Colin. A few well earned days at The World for PP, she certainly earned them.

If I could get it to do that, I'd never leave the house.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

I have the Disney App, but I wanted a site for my wife to sit down with the kids and make a list of what they wanted to do. (Some will be fast pass, some not).

The sites everyone gave me worked perfectly. The kids last day of school is Wednesday, and my wife has been done since last week. So they can plan this side of the trip on Friday morning, our 60 days out. :)

Awesome! I always found it surprising how early some schools get out and how late we typically get out. I think our last day of school is the 17th since we had a pretty mild winter with no missed days. Have fun planning and good luck on getting the rides you want. We have gone in late August the last few years and it looks like a no go this year.:sad2::sad2:

Happy Tuesday. Another week on campus. Too bad it's summer break though, but the few here are still scantily clad. I hope I can teach my children better.

I can but they make me come off for at least 20-25 of those minutes. ;)

Too bad. You're not going to get the scoring record that way. :rotfl:

::yes:: :lmao:

Still have to get the current house paid off before I buy the vacation one. So, we are about 5 years away. That was our plan, avoid two extreme weather situations, but I can handle an early vacation property in the meantime.

We usually go in June, but switched to August this year. Next year we will be going in June. And then a year or two off, would be my guess.

Back in the day, I used intercot. Worked each land and park for the rides. been awhile since I have been on their site, not sure how up to date it is. They did send me a Happy Birthday on Saturday though.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Got some catching up to do but thought you guys would like this one

Bet your son was a happy camper.

It took me 20 minutes to notice there was someone other than Jasmine in the picture.

Good weather and played my best round of golf this year.

Congrats!

Shot an 88 and was really hitting the ball well.

An 88? I usually shoot mid to low 70s.

That's on a 9 hole par 3 (27 total) course, mind you... but still.... mid to low 70s.

Morning Guys,

Very wet and rainy up here today, something about the remnants of a tropical storm pushing up the coast. It's a good day to be inside.

Hope you all have a good one.

Hey folks. Opposite of Darcy's weather here. Beautiful day. Got to take the bike to work for the second time in a row. Woot!
Today, tomorrow, tomorrow night... work.
But then off for almost a whole week!
Gonna tag along with SWMBO to Montreal (she's gotta work. I get to relax and do whatever I want.)

Lovely weather here today in VA - 73 right now with a high of 80 forecast. Plan on heading out to the garden after work and put up a fence to protect my green beans from the bunnies. They seem to like to nibble on my bushes at night.

There is a joke in there somewhere. :rolleyes1

At MCO now to head back to reality. We had a great time. Will do an overview over the next couple of days as there is some good and some bad with the new AK evening activities. Back to reality and the office tomorrow - ugh.
What location is that?
Well played sir. Well played indeed. Is that CRT?
Yep, CRT. Been years since we have done this place and DS did not remember what the inside looked like and since I could get it took it. With him going into interior architecture he enjoyed seeing it plus the characters were good.

Nice round and congrats to the kids and you on reaching summer. Enjoy the off season training stuff.
