Great day at HS yesterday As DS really enjoyed all the new Star Wars stuff. Bracing for this tropical storm though thats coming this way.

Thank You Mike!

Sunday, what shall I do today.

Nothing!

Well I have to play soccer this evening but today is a do nothing day.

Have a good one all!

Morning all. Watching French Open this AM. Managed to get my hour in at the gym before. It was a lot more fun gaining the weight than losing it. Oldest dd didn't do well in swim meet. It was the first long course of the season, so hopefully, the next will be better.

Morning boys, from sunny London.
Happy Sunday from this side of the pond.

Having a cheeky espresso, about to drop off the young ones to my mum, as we are going to see Springsteen this afternoon. So should be a good Sunday.......

What is the difference between a cheeky espresso vs the regular one?

Had to ride Star Tours three times until I got the Vader one. That's my favorite one now.

Have fun at soccer. I'll get younger dd out to play tennis in a couple hours.

Not a bad day here today... but windy!
Managed to mow the lawn before heading off to work today.

It slaps your face when you lift up the cup.

Morning Dads, I hope you all had a good weekend. It's been a busy few days around my place. Both DDs had rehearsals Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and then the dance recital Saturday and Sunday. My job for the weekend was mainly a cook, general helper, driver, photographer and stay-out-of-the-way-er while the ladies were dealing with hair, make up, flat irons, curling irons, iron maidens, and whatever other things they use to look beautiful. It's quite a process and a hectic few days, but they did a great job and I was very proud of them, so I guess it's all worth it in the end. They certainly put a lot of hard work into the dance routines all year. The oldest DD16 had two dances and the youngest DD8 had five. I have no idea how they remember all the steps and poses for a 2-3 minute routine for each dance, when I sometimes can't remember how to put on my socks in the morning. Here's a few photos of the event, because, you know, pictures or it didn't happen :)

Monday back at the office. :sad2:

It slaps your face when you lift up the cup.

I wad hoping for the British translation as opposed to the Canadauian one.

You must be worn out, you should have a beer or something.

Congrats to your DDs.

Rainy Monday here. Last week of classes for DS, couple of exams next week and his first year of HS will be complete. Man, seems like yesterday he was just starting school.

Soccer last night was good for about 45 minutes, unfortunately the game is 90. Oh well, it was a good run and it wasn't raining.

Have a good one all.

Been away for a few days. Plumbing issues at the house. The plumber called and postponed until tomorrow. Allows me the time to try some DIY and really screw things up. The kid headed out to WDW yesterday for a few days at the Boardwalk.

Congratulations to your young ladies.

Tropical storm is way out in the Gulf and it is affecting us today. Overcast and not sure it is going to rain or not. It is about to hit Orlando later tonight/morning. Lots of rain on the mouse house.

It seems like yesterday I was at Freshman orientation for her HS and the Principal warned everyone to enjoy it because it is going to go by quickly. Now she is a college graduate. Time speeds up.

What is the difference between a cheeky espresso vs the regular one?

Norm
Its not just espresso, it applies to all consumables.

A) It should be consumed either in the East End of London, or by someone from the East End of London (which overrides all rules), or
B) Should be consumed in place of doing something more worthy, and therefore quick.

i.e. Fancy another beer?
I should be doing my garden, it'll have to be a cheeky one.

If Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins had chucked a few of these into the dialogue, he would have got a lot more props from the East End.

Beautiful girls. Must get that from their mother, I presume?
Just did the recital thing myself. Ours were Wed, Thu, Fri evening (dress rehearsals were during the day) I volunteered at all of them. The toughest was the first one. I got up at 5am for work, home to grab the kid from school, shop, cook, eat and off to recital until 10pm then straight from there to work until 7am. I was a little woozy after that one.

I wad hoping for the British translation as opposed to the Canadauian one.

Same spelling, different accent.

Huh. Well I'll be darned.
Learning something... here???? Who'da thunk?

Pkondz, that would be a naughty one, not a cheeky one.

Ah. My bad.

Hope you guys all had a great weekend. Spent it visiting my Dad who had his 91st birthday last Tuesday! Had a pretty good time, some good seafood, but I'm pretty much out of touch with the world when I'm there since he still has very basic internet service, and cell service at his house is sporadic at best. :faint:

Dealing a little with the tropical storm coming out of the Gulf today, although things are looking a lot clearer outside right now.

With all that said, I still need to lose more weight before I try the 5K. I doubt I will ever run and compete at the level I did in high school even though I somehow think I will be able to.
Yeah, I started playing golf again and it didn't take long to realize I'm not still as good as I think I should be years ago........

Home from tennis tonite. The other player was my skill level, but almost 20 years younger. I lost the first set 2-6, but was even with him at 4-5 in 2nd before Court time ended. Not sure I would have had enough in the tank left to win, but glad I pushed him.
Nice job! Always good when you give the younger guys a challenge! :thumbsup2

FIL took us to dinner at the Moonlite all you can eat bbq. I ate all I could, and can hardly breathe. Did I mention they have a chocolate fudge iced pecan pie?
Yum!

It slaps your face when you lift up the cup.
:rotfl2:

Another Monday is over and done. Played tennis Sun night and tonight and sure am tired.

Soccer last night was good for about 45 minutes, unfortunately the game is 90. Oh well, it was a good run and it wasn't raining.
.

Can you run for the whole 90 minutes? That's impressive.

Morning fellas. A nice sunny day here today. Too bad gotta sit in an office all day.

Yes, I snuck out early to enjoy it.

Been away for a few days. Plumbing issues at the house. The plumber called and postponed until tomorrow. Allows me the time to try some DIY and really screw things up. The kid headed out to WDW yesterday for a few days at the Boardwalk.

You sure.got the stinky end of that deal. :lmao:
