DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
So, an oddity tonite. I had a woman ask me for my phone # at tennis. I've seen her there before with her child, but she doesn't play. Maybe I'm not as ugly as I thought I am or maybe she can't see.

The wife was not too keen on breakfast ADR's. She likes to sleep in. I always have to control myself and not wake everyone up at 6 am. But this year, if people want to sleep in, I and my oldest daughter like to get up early, and I am going to get her to 'sneak' out with me and get the day started. Well until my wife get's mad at me and tells me I have to wait for her. :)

But I figure one morning I might get away with it. Heck, if all three girls want to let mom sleep in and come with me, that is fine as well. But my youngest will sleep just like her mother well into the afternoon. So we shall see.

We do 10:30 AM breakfast. We've done the early AM ADRs to get in the parks before they open. It is cool walking in an empty park. But, we've done it at least each park once. The best is MK with empty park. The best ride is KS at AK after eating at Tusker House.

My wife is the same way. Before our son was born I would get up and get hot chocolate and play games on my laptop in the resort restaurant for an hour until she was ready. It was actually really relaxing way to start the day.

Hopefully now that we have a kid things and stay the same, but with a 6 months old who knows. He'll be almost a year when we go for our next trip this October.

Here are my ADR's since we're all sharing.

Been to all those except Flame Tree BBQ and maybe the one at Universal. Again, we have great BBQ in KY so we don't go. Cali Grill is really good and a great view. You can watch Wishes from there with the music piped in from MK.

I'm back again, just like a bad penny. The wet weather has allowed me to get almost caught up. I'm sure there is something I have forgotten though so it is all a grand illusion. Not time to panic yet but we just passed our frost free date and it is time to get the crops in the ground.

Congrats, safe travels, heal up and whatever other sentiments are appropriate since last I was on. No time to go back and see all I missed.

We got hit hard a few hours ago. We had hail and flooding. Stay safe.

Nope.
about 1 hour left. Getting a wee bit tired.
But DW called and said that Dad got in on an earlier flight and is already home. So at least I don't have to stay up til 1am waiting for him now.
A silver lining......... :thumbsup2

What are your opinions of Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue? This is a 10-year anniversary trip without the DS (3yo) so we are doing things that he'd like not be interested in for several more years.
You have a very nice list of ADRs there! Never personally done HDDR, but most DISers I know well always have great things to say about it...........and enjoy the food and the entertainment! :goodvibes

Wed - Be our Guest - Lunch
Crystal Palace - Dinner
Thur - 1900 Park Fare - Dinner
Fri - Akershus Royal Banquet - Dinner
Sat - Tusker House - Breakfast
Sun - Chef Mickey - Brunch
Mon - Liberty Tree Tavern - Dinner
Another nice list! Never done 1900, Akershus or amazingly LTT. Always had good experiences at the others.

Here are my ADR's since we're all sharing.
Nice assortment there! ::yes::

:worship::worship: party::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1: That should keep you motivated for at least a month.

Are you sure she didn't want to sell you some Amway?

Thanks. All around here but our little holler is missing out on the worst of it so far.

Usually tennis involves different strokes than one to your self esteem!

:lmao:

Never did Akershus, not adventurous enough to try it.
I've done Akershus for breakfast. If you can convince your DW to go for a later breakfast ADR, I highly recommend it. I've done it three times now and always good food. I found the character interaction good as well.

We usually do Akershus for breakfast because my dds eat breakfast food better than dinner. It is a difficult ADR to get. Plus, if I get it for breakfast, I can talk DW into Via Napoli for dinner.
That's pretty much my perfect Epcot food day! Start with Akershus breakfast, then end up in either Via Napoli or Tutto Italia for dinner.

Morning gents.
Just another day in the life.
It's my first day off so that means.
Up at 7 to drive DD to school
Shopping for groceries after.
Cooking supper.
Take dog to vet for follow up
Rest of afternoon and night at work.
That sounds very similar to my day, actually. Except for the dog. I like other people's pets since I don't have to clean up after those. I also tend to do the cooking most days. And I haven't been fired yet. There have definitely been a few "misses" when the pizza delivery number was called.

Nope. Rain. And that's a good thing. Hopefully knock out some of the fires.
I hope you guys out west get some rain soon. It's still hard to comprehend the devastation in Alberta. My cousin lives in Fort Mac. They got out just in time. It seems their house was "OK", but the other side of the street was flattened. Crazy.

Morning all.

Another beautiful day up here in the North.

Streaming the Invictus Games swimming finals while working away. They are taking place at Wide World of Sports and they are something to watch. They built a temporary 50m pool just for these games. They just presented the first medals of the day and the soldier from the UK was wearing Minnie ears as she accepted her medal.

Have a good one!

Guess what day it is? Happy Wednesday everyone.

That must have been it. Either way, it made my day. I'm happily married, but it is nice to be flirted with, even if it is just to sell Amway. :lmao:

Glad you missed it. No major damage other than a few dents in the car.

.

I didn't realize Tutto was so formal, but yes, it was an excellent meal and excellent service. I'm more if a pizza and beer guy.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Batcrap crazy around here with work, work travel, DD home from school, DS graduating HS, etc. Pretty much got caught up here finally so congrats to Declan on the volleyball, Pirate Princess on her finals and graduating (congrats CJ and safe travels), Rob - nice young man you got there and Norm, phone number, really? For any major events I may have missed ..........

Morning all.
After working til 11pm on my first day off (and then staying up til 1am... for no reason) I'm back at work by 6:45am on my second day off.
Thank goodness I have to work tomorrow at 8am. I can use the rest.

There have definitely been a few "misses" when the pizza delivery number was called.

 I've been pretty fortunate to not have had that happen very often.

Some of those videos from there were insane!
Glad your cousin was okay and so's their home.

Awesome! That list looks like something I would have put together. Minus day 5... the family has never been to that "other" place yet. lol

Hello Men! Partly sunny and getting warmer in these parts. Scary weather happening to you guys out west... praying for safety for you during this time of the year.
Played softball on Monday night... double header... won both games. Unfortunately for me I took a ball on the left side of my jaw the second play of the game. Teeth are still loose, but glad there was no blood and nothing broken. Otherwise, I realized that this 44 year old body doesn't wanna do what my 20 year old mind wants it to do. :lmao:
Still working on the reading nook for DD. I'll get some pics up in here once I recover from Monday night and actually start working on it again. :faint:

Ha ha. We only go for Harry Potter World. (Dare I speak of it here). I don't even care for the Marvel thrill rides, though it will be interesting to see what happens when Disney gets around to asserting it's Marvel rights and revoking them from Universal.

Will be interesting to see what Disney does there. They certainly are wasting no time cashing in on Marvel studio releases. Though I did just read about this:

I thought that Universal had an iron clad agreement on that, so that Disney could not revoke those rights to marvel? Could be wrong, as I can't seem to find where I read that, but it seems like something that an organization would want before building a theme park 'land' around the concept and then having to change all of those rides..

All of these ADR posts are making me hungry. Glad to see there will be a lot of good dining taking place.

Well, that sounds really relaxing. You should be good for another couple of months.

She probably saw you play and mistook you for Djokovic. It happens, I'm sure.

Are you sure she didn't want to sell you some Amway?

There have definitely been a few "misses" when the pizza delivery number was called.

My kids love it when Daddy cooks. "Do you guys want pizza? Fast food? Take-out BBQ?"

So what quick services does everyone enjoy? I know my kids love Casey's, because corn dog nuggets or something like that.
My wife has a place at Epcot that she loves for quick service, can't remember the name off the top of my head.

friar's nook, the pot roast mac 'n cheese is to die for...

::yes:: If you mean a couple of months in a nice comfy padded room...

So what quick services does everyone enjoy?

BOG at lunch. Still a QS.
Used to say Pecos Bills, but it's changed now, so don't know.
Food isn't the best, but Casey's especially if the piano guy is there.

My wife has a place at Epcot that she loves for quick service, can't remember the name off the top of my head.

Sunshine seasons in the Land perhaps?
It's a good one.

Sunshine Seasons maybe? A couple of my personal favorites in Epcot are Yorkshire County Fish Shop for Fish & Chips, and La Cantina de San Angel for Mexican. Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ, and the newly opened area in Africa (can't remember the name).....there are a couple of different windows there. MK - Cosmic Ray's for choices (and of course the cheesy entertainment) and Columbia Harbour House, besides Casey's.
