DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hope all had a good Halloween and that the kids enjoyed costumes and loaded up on the candy. Lousy weather here for 2nd year in a row - feel bad for the little ones having to deal with wet weather. We just wrapped up celebrating DD's 21st birthday - that's right 21 o_O

That means she can now legally buy liquor without you, and you're really old. :lmao:

BBQ, I am dying for some good Que. Not much around here so if I could, I would get in the car and drive up to Moonlite and maybe Old Hickory. Then to top it off, a stop at the bourbon bar.
.

Sounds like a great plan. Drive or fly on up next week and let's go.

Yeah, Florida really took it to Georgia yesterday.

Missed that. Happy 21st to your Princess. Not only can she by liquor for herself without you as Norm said, she can also make a trip to the store for you.

Would love to, if only I could. When I took my road trip to Tenn. and KY a couple of years ago, I had good BBQ at dive like places on the side of the road. Stayed at some town south of Lexington and ended up eating at a Mexican place. Chuckled to myself thinking I am in Kentucky and going to a Mexican joint. Was surprised to find out it was great food.

Yes, we have some really good, authentic Mexican food in my town as well. We have a substantial (for this size town) migrant worker program. Some stay all year round and opened restaurants. Excellent food.

Hey folks, been busy last couple days. But they were good ones, so there's that.
Counted 111 kids at the door for Halloween this year.
The really little ones just kill me. They have no idea what's going on. Love it.

Top O the Mornin Dads! BWV studio all set this a.m. For DS's HS graduation trip for SW Weekends - still waiting to see if SW Wknd is going to be held, changed to something different or just DOA. Regardless we are gonna go. Here's to being another day closer to next DIS trips for all.

We had about the same but the ND game consumed most of my attention. DD & DS had a blast interacting with the kids.

We had one child (our niece) and two adults (friends showing off their Harry Potter themed costumes). That is two more people than we typically get.

I do miss seeing the costumes though.

You live out of town, Darcy?

Yes I do. There are lots of houses on the streets that run off of the road we live on but our area is very dark and cars tend to travel too fast on the stretch by our house. WE have been in the house for about 15 Halloweens and we never had more than 15 or 20 kids. They were mostly kids that my wife taught but she changed schools about five years ago and none of the middle school kids up here know who she is.

It's always a good time for BBQ.

That was my little boy this time around. He figured it out quick, though. If people were going to throw candy into his bucket, he wasn't going to stop them.

We had too many trick or treaters. I walked around a bit with my girls outside, but they wanted to run off with friends, so I returned home. I answered the door once with a bloody Halloween knife, and the five year old batman went running for cover. His parents laughed too, but he bravely returned for some candy.

Real blood? :rotfl2:

Everytime that computer commercial is on tv and starts playing "Danger Zone", I get disappointed there are not planes flying around. :sad1: :lmao:

Real blood? :rotfl2:

Sure. I killed some neighbors to keep it real. :lmao:

Nope, that would be at my house as Norm does not have a future SIL :rotfl:

I thought you were already planning a wedding? Sounds too late for that threat now.

Good one. But your assumptions is conditional, his girls are getting older. You and I can sit back and be amused in the years to come.

I don't know quite how i will handle that, but I'm sure you'll be there to give me grief the whole time.

Along with a few other of the Dads that are gonna be "up against it" with daughters getting older.

Wedding Insurance - yep insuring the thing. Have to with him in the military as you never know and one can't just cancel an event being held at a wedding only facility without a financial ding. So, with it insured, I can threaten all I want :rotfl:

I should hope so. Fake is so gauche.
Glad you're keeping it real, otherwise we'd think less of you.
And I didn't think that was even possible!

Can hear it now, "AirGoofy, killed a man just to watch him die." Isn't today Dia De los Muertos day?
.

Yes, in the USA known as Feast of all Souls.

I didn't you could insure a wedding with anything other than a shotgun. :lmao:

Yeah, I really don't know how much less anyone could think of me.

I'll go with Maverick because he got to fly the plane and do the chick.
