DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Geez. Worst in 80 years I heard. Keep your head above water dude.

Hmmm... 2nd not so great review I’ve seen here.

It's been pretty bad for a lot of people. We just watched a video that a friend posted from there house down river. They live in a really bad area and already had water in the basement. Yesterday we had high winds and it caused large waves to break out their basement windows and the water was coming in like Niagara Falls.

As for the movie, don't get me wrong I enjoyed it but I think the others have been better. There was just so much going on in this one it was hard to get a good flow.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

Ah! So that's two against, one for.

And gives us the chance to use the classic put down..

“Thoust seems like a gentleman who doth bring a Mace to a Scimitar fight.”

Gets em every time. The wenches love it as well.

Oh, man. That really sucks.

Okay, so that makes it one for, one against, one "meh".

Happy Sunday. Long day of work. Tennis. Youth group. HS tennis is next week. My girl plays doubles and is in bracket with #3 seed. I doubt they will survive.

Morning sunshine, hope you’re doing ok over there. Good luck with the football. Do you want a West Ham shirt to play in? I’ll be happy to send one over. The way we are playing, you might even get a game over here.

Have a fabulous Sunday boys, may it be filled with relaxation, beers and bbq.

I'll play for West Ham, and they can sign me for the low price of $2 million a year. Or, they can send me a free jersey and I'll wear it.

As for BBQ, next weekend is our International BBQ Festival. In a classic Princess Bride quote "I don't think you know what that word means" people from neighboring states drive down and load up on church cooked BBQ, with prizes published in the newspaper for annual bragging rights. I will stay as far away as possible. You all head on down though.

You’re saying the BBQ isn’t very good? Or the crowds are bad? Or?

The crowds are big. The BBQ is mostly good. I mean, you're competing against other churches to have ribbons which rank your BBQ quality - one for beef, pork, mutton, chickens, and burgoo. But, international? I guess we have a large migrant farmer population, but they are there for the work and just came to town the same day everyone else did. Interstate festival? I may buy thay one. :lmao:

Morning Guys.

Forecast is for sun for the next few days and that should help with this flood. We are into double digit days at extremely high levels, never seen anything like it. Usually we will get a day or two but it goes up and right back down. We've been more than a week at over the 8 meter mark and the flood mark is 6.5 meters. Communities are completely cut off and I can't imagine the damage down to homes down river. Crazy, crazy stuff.

First soccer game of the season went well with a 2-1 win. That ends our pre-season and now we are one to the real thing. ;)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning guys. The kid is off to wrestle sharks. Lots of wind and thunderstorms out in the Gulf so I imagine she is hanging on to the rail feeding the fishes. Her Kryptonite is she is prone to seasickness especially at the beginning of a trip. My plan is to hit the Keys tomorrow. Breakfast at my all time favorite diner and then a few stops to see some friends. Not working doesn't suck.

Rumours that I drunk a bottle of wine and fell asleep last night on the sofa at 9 are unconfirmed, yet at this moment undenied.....

So what was the wine that was allegedly drunk? You can always say it is fake news.

Sunny Sunday here so far, hoping the rain stays away so the river can start dropping soon.

Saw the video you posted. Really bad stuff going on up there. May the sun shine and the waters recede.

As long as everyone has weapons. This is key.

That is our motto.

"Or, you bring a scimitar to a longbow fight? I give you my two fingered salute."

Good luck to her. Hopefully she and the team pull off an upset.

I would bravely fight traffic to for some good BBQ. Sorely lacking in the culinary department down here. Next year, you and I go stuff our faces and head to the Bourbon bar.

Breakfast at my all time favorite diner and then a few stops to see some friends. Not working doesn't suck.
This all sounds fantastic. Do you guys not get the first Monday of May as a holiday?
The wine that was allegedly drunk may have been a Pinot Noir from a winery called Small and Small. It’s really good stuff.

Afternoon boys from sunny London. Building a bespoke boardwalk for the Lady K today.

Nice job on the game Darcy, hope that water dies down.

Norm, save me a stool at the BBQ

Top O the Mornin Dads! Hope all had a great weekend.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.
I'm with our leader, really enjoyed it and looking forward to #4 to wrap it all up.

Prayers for those affected, hope the worst is over. Make sure you don't pull or hurt anything this season.

Sounds like you're enjoying retirement / semi-retirement or whatever you are calling it.

'Morning all...
The A/C at the house decided to go on strike just as the temps are headed toward the 90'sF range.
Probably tomorrow before we'll get anyone out there to look it over.
lovely...

Morning chaps from the dystopian nightmare that is London, where knife wielding maniacs roam with impunity and the hospitals are awash with blood, apparently.
Look at it this way...
That yutz can't directly effect the laws and livelihoods of the general populous where you live.
I can't say that (and unfortunately, where I live, even expressing a descanting opinion could well get my family harmed)

Do you guys not get the first Monday of May as a holiday?
A holiday dedicated to the working classes?
Celebrated in a country that is dedicated to wealth, power, privilege segregation and exploitation?
Not bloody likely mate...

Morning. Survived the dentist. Going to enjoy a few hours off.

First soccer game of the season went well with a 2-1 win. That ends our pre-season and now we are one to the real thing. ;)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good job there Vardy. Make sure you take home the Championship this year.

Good luck to her. Hopefully she and the team pull off an upset.

Have fun in the Keys, and thanks. There are two schools in our division who coach down into middle school to prepare players (which is good), but also teach them how to cheat (which is bad). So, assuming they get past first team, it's unlikely they can outplay players taught to teach for 6+ years.

As the BBQ festival, I stay away. It's good food, but one heck of a crowd. I'd rather just go to Moonlite BBQ, open all the time, and get the BBQ buffet and eat myself into a coma. Bourbon bar for dessert.

This all sounds fantastic. Do you guys not get the first Monday of May as a holiday?

Norm, save me a stool at the BBQ

We have the last Monday off in May for Memorial Day weekend. If you make the bbq festival, then it will be International.

Good point well made there, Rob. Fair do's.

we are having the one week in the year when the AC would be on, and we wished we had it.

Are you also putting in a pool with a clown slide?
If only we had the room.

Morning, guys. Just catching up around here. Dan, see if you can send some of that sunny weather Darcy's way.

Ugh. Just stick your head in the freezer from time to time.

'Morning all...
Trying to stay more toward the brighter side here (though admittedly, that a bit against my nature), so positive thoughts for all and may those flood waters start receding more quickly.

Ugh. Just stick your head in the freezer from time to time.
That's both an excellent idea and on another level even a fairly effective insult...
Bravo; that was nicely done.

I have an HVAC mechanic headed to the house to check the system later today so I hope to have a better idea of what's going on in the near. Of course, not knowing the extent of the problem or its required solution means that I have no idea just how bad the monitory damage will be. That's a "Known Unknown" that I'd rather not be dealing with right now.

Nicely done. I have to go to the dentist this afternoon. o_O
