Well hello there!

I'm new around here, and just wanted to pop in a say "Hi!" I'm Adam. I've been poking around for a while, but have just now gotten up the gumption to actually stick my head in the conversation .

This place is pretty awesome. It is great to have some where that I can let my Disney geek out for a little air. Most of the folks I know, including DW, think that I'm a bit obsessed, but I guess it doesn't help when I start talking about planning our next trip while we are still 8 months away from our currently planned one......

Anyway, here's a quick pick of myself with my DW last June waiting at the Swan to board a bus to MK

And since they've never yet been to Disney, here are DD6 and DS4 dressed as Peter Pan and Wendy from a local production of Peter Pan:

There has been a buzz of activity of bookings and planning going on over on Facebook and in the Pub for The DISDads Club Convention 4 in January! If you are wanting to go and need a roommate or just need information please let me know. Aaron has posted room rates in the Pub with his TA discounts.

Happy Friday. Saw the Minions movie today with dds. It was what was expected.

Another day, another storm, another evening with no power at the house. Good the office is so close and has AC.

Hey, just sell the house and live at the office. Think of how much $ you would have for Disney trips.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You send enough for everyone, and then I mail to all the guys. This plan is fool proof. You certainly are welcome to plan your Disney trips here. Post your ADRs, park days, FP+ plans, and then change them all again. Not taking your children to WDW might be considered child abuse.

Wish I could but the family would never trust me off by myself, much less with this bunch of ne'er-do-wells.

Got together with friends, busted out the instruments and made copious amounts of noise, ate entirely too much at the ensuing backyard barbecue, complacently ignored the yard work and avoided the 100 degree heat...
It's been a good day.

Have no choice but to deal with the heat and yard work tomorrow...

That's the middle of the first fiscal week where I work. Month-end, quarter-end, year-end...
No way in he** will that be allowed.

They'd actually prefer if I took no time off at all from November through February but I could get out of there during the days numbered in the high teens and twenties most months.

Indeed. I wish others were as unimpressed as my overlords. Somehow I got nominated to review some dissertations from a foreign university as an external reviewer. Not even a country I would want to visit, one of the "...stan" ones. I politely explained that my schedule was incredibly full until October and couldn't do justice to the task and yet they said that was fine. Hopefully something will come up between now and then or they will find some other poor sap to do it. My last plea will be that my passport has expired. If you all want to pray that others realize what a malcontent and SOB I am perhaps I can go back to being forgotten about here.

I thought about calling it the Hillbilly meet n greet, but DDCP sounds better. 5 dads, 5 spouses, and 12 children. We ate a picnic lunch, I drank beers, nerf football throwing, soccer, blueberry picking, ice cream eating, and some peach and blackberry wines to go.
