DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Early afternoon lunch post. The week seems to be flying by. I guess that's what happens at work as opposed to being locked up in my house. :lmao:

Sports radio said Mahomes was waiting for haircut when team barber found out he was positive for COVID. I wonder if there was even a nanosecond of thought as to whether or not Mahones would be quarentined. Granted, that report would prevent him from being allowed to enter my hospital as a visitor, but I'm sure that science is wrong - this is the Superbowl. The next report will be that Vinny Vegas was spotted in the Chiefs parking lot spraying an unknown aerosol. :lmao:

Bravo on all the trip report comments. I just posted pictures and my brief thoughts at the time. Some of you need to consider publishing deals.

Morning, Gents, from a slightly snow covered, and I do mean SLIGHTLY, Cape Cod. It snowed jjjuusssstt enough to make it look pretty. It'll be gone by mid-day. If you remember from yesterday, I said I thought I had hit my 100 indexed document goal...well I didn't. I was about 15 documents off, and I was none too pleased. I was truly irritated, not at anyone or anything, so I'm not mad at my supervisor, just irritated that I thought I had hit my goal and didn't. You see, I tick off on a note pad how many I index, and I thought I had figured out the formulae for the report....apparently I didn't. What I'm trying to is to get an idea of how well I'm doing, and where I stand at certain points in the day, I like to know, and I was annoyed that I didn't make it. Oh well, on wards and upwards. In other news, I got my first of two COVID shots yesterday. I was emailed early afternoon from someone in HR asking if I wanted the shot, so I took it. My arm is a bit sore where the shot went in, but nothing that I can't handle. The second shot will happen the end of Feb/early March. I've been told, and have read, that the second shot really lays you out. Better than actually getting COVID, I guess. Well that's it. Hope everyone has a good day.

TTFN

I guess the boss would tell you if 85 was bad. Are some more complicated than others? Is that measured?

It's amazing how much stuff the hospital employee health has access to. Still waiting to hear about the order of my next set of vaccines. DW has struggled with aches and an injection site rash with her first COVID injection.

You have tea strainers in America, right?

They were banned by executive order.

Thank you. I have been stalking this thread since the beginning of the pandemic and maybe before then. My name is Tim and was planning to go to Walt Disney World in April 2020 with my family. We live in southern Maine and hope to go in April 2022. I went 5 or so times before but this will be the first time for my children. Luckily we were fortunate to go on a Disney cruise in February 2018. That is when I first discovered the Dis.

Welcome. Never been on a Disney Cruise, just Carnival. I think DW and I will try an all inclusive destination resort before another cruise. I guess the price of airfare may determine that.

On a slightly different tack, and moving swiftly on before the pitchforks come out, the LEGO Hogwarts Castle is on its way to Chez Dan........

Hey! I'm talking french already. Allez Les Habiteurs!

Thanks Mark. @TDR32 if you haven't, look up Mark's TRs. Better than mine. By far.

Well, that's not true at all. But thank you.

I have seen Mark's TRs. I enjoy the Homer award and all the wonderful pictures from 49 of the 50 states.

Thanks for suffering through reading them!

I read something about the barber being stopped mid-cut. They showed a photo of a player with half his head shaved, but I'm pretty sure it was Photoshopped. I was hoping it was true.

"And when push comes to shove, I'll send an armed batallion to remind you of my love, da da da daaaah, da da da da da da.....,"

Is it wrong that King George was my favorite part of the whole show?

So, the CDC has now determined it is safe to re-open schools now before the teachers & students are vaccinated. Hmmm... was there a scientific study that I missed? Or, what is different today than 17 days ago? Move it along. Nothing to see here but science.

That would have been funny. Even better with a spandex wearing camel in the barber shop.

There you go. Probably the most English photo you will see today......
And you've gotta have a cheeky custard cream with it.

That tea has been taxed so much that it has tipped itself over to pour out.

Thank you all for the warm welcome into the super secret highly exclusive club. As a welcome offering I have bacon and bourbon. For those that don't imbibe I have a large selection of soda.
Welcome to the club TDR32.
Thank you!
Welcome the the mothership. We also have a summer home on the book of faces.

Ah geez, that's not going to his head or anything.
I spend too much time here to be involved in another social site. I live through the trip reports since it has been (takes off a shoe to count) 16 years since I have been to WDW.

I have been on carnival but it was about 30 years ago and I am sure much has changed. My wife and I went on Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. She wants to do another cruise but she is insisting on Disney. The Disney cruise was multigenerational and was great! In planning a trip to Da World I realize that the cruise and staying on site are about the same when you factor in food. Crazy!

I like how the gravitational pull turned this sideways. Is that an England only thing?

Morning, Gents! Finally Friday, for those of us so fortunate to have this day as a Friday. And for those of you who have to work tomorrow? I'm sorry. I really am. Well, that's all I've got. Have a good day, and we'll chat later.

Is it weird that I'm jealous of someone else getting a shot? Anyway, congrats on your first step towards freedom.

In a normal setting I'd say yes, however, we are most certainly not in normal times.

@pkondz writes some of the most entertaining TR's on the boards. Sometimes the photoshop makes my old eyes hurt looking for them, though. :rolleyes1

Oh he does, does he? Well, I'm just going to have to go over Trip Reports board and read some of these.

That was the disturbing part. Well, that and someone actually was able to get it ON the camel.(doesn't look photoshopped, but possible)

I wonder how they got that on him as well. Either camel's are fairly docile, he's use to it, or they got him drunk.

Yes we do and I was going to mention that to him. I like loose leaf for flavor, but not cleanup.

Ok, ok...there's a thing called a tea strainer. Sheesh! To myself: "Make one little mistake." Ok, that line's from a movie...10 points for whoever can guess it...because I have no idea where it's from, but it is from a movie. Actually, I do know of strainers just think of it. Are the flavors better from loose leaf v. bagged?

I guess the boss would tell you if 85 was bad. Are some more complicated than others? Is that measured?

She would tell me, and she thinks I'm doing a good job. I, however, am really hard on myself and want to make that 100 document goal quickly. I feel anything less is a failure on my part. So yes, I can be hard on myself. As for complicated? Yes, some are a bit more complicated than others. I work on mostly Consultation Reports, which are fairly easy. And all the work is easy once you know what you're doing, it's getting to that point where it is easy can be difficult. The only information I look for, and need, from the document is 1) What kind of document type it is: Consultation Report, Physician's Order, Outside Labs/Testing etc. 2) a Description: Neurology, Cardiology, Orthopedics etc. Everything else is just filling in dates and the medical record number, which then auto fills everything else. It's determining what the Description is that can be difficult at times. There may by multiple reasons why someone is being seen, so at that point you just have to make a determination why and fill it in. And I'm measured on how many I do plus how accurate I am, though to date I've only been told about 2 mistakes. So either my mistakes are being corrected and I'm not being told and/or I'm not making that many mistakes.

It's amazing how much stuff the hospital employee health has access to. Still waiting to hear about the order of my next set of vaccines. DW has struggled with aches and an injection site rash with her first COVID injection.

You might have access to a lot more than I do, but as someone who has access to people's records I'm learning quite a bit about people I know. HIPPA prevents me from saying anything to anyone about any of it, and I won't say anything, but yeah, I have access to a lot.

They were banned by executive order.

They were?! Suhweet! :lmao:

That is quite English.

Mmmm bacon.

I'm long since past being able to count on fingers and toes since my last trip, so using the trip reports to get a fix is a great idea. I'll have to start doing that.

I like how the gravitational pull turned this sideways. Is that an England only thing?

I'm amazed he's able to keep the tea from pouring out.

Afternoon lads from a sunny London, waiting for a blizzard which is apparently on Sunday. Got Monday off, to sleep off the Superbowl. Booked DDCC, and the Lady K has signed it off. Looking at flights, so as long as I'm allowed out of the country, I am there.

It's a cunning plan to convince flat earthers that I am actually at an angle to you guys. Apparently you have a fair few over there ;)
super secret highly exclusive club.
But just to let you know, you are on double super secret probation.
I, however, am really hard on myself and want to make that 100 document goal quickly. I feel anything less is a failure on my part. So yes, I can be hard on myself.
This sounds like a super stressful way to work mate. Ease up on yourself a bit. I'm my own harshest critic, but stuff takes time.

I'll be back to let everyone off work early shortly, (apart from TDR32, probation and all that)
Tally Ho.

Morning All, congrats on making it to Friday. Hoping for a quiet day here so we shall see.

Bit of snow forecasted for the next 24 hours so it looks like a bit of snowshoeing might be on tap for the weekend.

Have a good one.

Bacon and bourbon, you have been paying attention. ;)

We've cruised with Disney, Carnival and Norwegian and have on booked for next year with Royal. So far, NCL is the only one I don't care if we ever use again.

I've got the sign off, now just need to find a way out of the country and to save up for this. Can't see any flights yet but hopefully things open up and I can make some arrangements before the prices skyrocket.
