Definitely not the way you want to find out you're going to be driving way out of your way... but at least you managed to save the day.Poor kid was crying and upset. (No wonder.)
So I picked her up.
They made the movie with 10 minutes to spare.
You know, I've never been a big fan of Eddie Cheever. But I never really had a strong dislike for him either. Until this month. Between the BS he was spouting during qualifications and the race, it was just driving me nuts. He says that a dirt track driver is supposedly not qualified to drive one of these newer Indycars. I guess under that same token, maybe they should find someone who has actually driven a modern Indycar to talk about them.Exhibit a. At one point, a driver is told to go to fuel map 4.
Scott Goodyear points out that they're going to start saving fuel.
About 5 minutes later, Eddie pipes up that there's something they haven't talked about yet.
Some drivers may be starting to save fuel!
Way to go Eddie!! Here's your sign!
Exhibit b. Scott Dixon dips two wheels below the white line on the back straight to signal his intention to pit.
This has been a common practice for .... I dunno 10? 20? more? years? Everyone does it. Everyone knows about it.
Pit windows are coming up. Dixon's been the first in for a while now. He dips below the line.
Eddie: "Whoa! What kind of line is Dixon taking! He went way low on the track!"
Goodyear: "I think he's just coming in to pit. Yes there he goes."
Atta boy Eddie. Here's a sucker. Go sit quietly while the grown ups watch the race, okay?
But then again, Goodyear hasn't driven one in years and he still seems to do a good job.
I definitely prefer the Paul Tracy/Townsend Bell duo on the NBCSN race coverage though.
Definitely, Randall. Sounds like she'll be busy with everything. And you just had to schedule your knee replacement for this week, huh?Need to ask for prayers and warm thoughts for Jodi. If you don't know, I am getting my right knee replaced Thursday the 28th. I'll be in the hospital for a couple of days after that. Also her big sister and SIL's husband will be here the 29th to visit. When they come they stay at a B&B, but Jodi drives them around. Also Jodi's mother's 95th birthday is June 2nd, so they are going to have a party for her over the weekend. The planning and scheduling for their visit and MIL's birthday always seem to fall on Jodi's shoulders. So please keep Jodi in your thoughts and prayers to have the strength to hold up. Added to all this, Jodi is sick today, so she can Really use those prayers.
Thank You!
Randall
