DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Well, it seems to be Monday again. Just not sure why they keep coming up. It's almost like it's every week.

Basketball season has finally wrapped up and we are on to waiting for the snow to go away. DS has baseball tryouts today. Knee a little sore, but he is ready to go. Should have no problem making the freshman team, but he was hoping to make JV or varsity. We'll see in a couple of weeks. DD had a field hockey tournament yesterday. Her 6th grad team went 4-0 and won the HIGH SCHOOL tournament. Yes, that's right. They played high school aged kids and beat them all to take the championship. I see a few state title in their future when they get to high school. Next up. softball season for DD and club hoops. Should be a busy spring. When they are both graduated and gone, I'm going to need to find some new hobbies.

Hope everyone is well! 157 days until I'm chillin at Stormalong Bay!

Okay, it's all done but the packing and driving. Annual passes renewed and fast pass plus and resturant reservations made. I still bet we'll have a bit of snow in the front yard when we leave on the 9th of May.

Got a couple more inches yesterday to set the record for most snowfall in a season here! The kicker is it was all in Feb and Mar. With the warmer weather, it is starting to disappear pretty quickly. We 'll certainly have snow cover into April, but we'll see how far.

If you put a book on her head, does she stop growing?

I don't think so. She is hoping for 2-3 more inches in order to aid in her basketball career. We'll see. They originally said maybe 5' 9" or so. She should be just about done growing.

Morning Men.

The first volleyball tournament has been played and won by DS and his middle school team mates. We only dropped one set all day, pretty happy since I just ran the try-outs on Thursday and Friday. Hopefully a sign of good things to come.

Last night DW and I got a night out at a St Paddy's themed fund raising dance. It was great to get out even if I was the DD and got to watch a lot of "interesting" people. Today we are under a blizzard warning but so far it is just a lot of wind and no snow. It should make for a quiet day of watching some basketball, my alma mater try to win the Canadian university hockey championship tonight and the Walking Dead to finish it all off. Interesting fact, they have won the championship every odd number year since 2007.

Have a good one all.

Congrats on the VB victory.

I don't totally understand how the alerts work on the new DIS but I haven't been getting any for this page. I thought everyone bailed. :rotfl2:

I guess I have to check my 'watched threads' more often.

NORM- Your team is looking unstoppable.... my team is looking NIT.

It does seem a lot slower in here since they updated the site. Curious.

My team will have to be Harvard since no other Boston teams are any good. I'm thinking Kentucky will cruise the the final 4.

Your team is the Knicks??

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Top O the Morning from Grand Californian Resort!

Off to a nice start

:thumbsup2 Better than the view I had this morning. Have fun!

Guess who's on the Do Not Allow list...

That guy! Remember, no one wants to be "that guy".:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, I didn't realize you were staying at BCV.... maybe our meet might happen after all. We are staying there for the 2nd part of our trip.

Congratulations!!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!!

We had a few flurries here yesterday. I wonder how long the snow will stick around here. :confused3

While I do love many of the new features, I do find it harder to read and I do miss some of the old functions .

I don't always see a movie on it's opening weekend, but when I do, It's the Most Awesome of all the Disney Princess!

I don't always see a movie on it's opening weekend, but when I do, It's the Most Awesome of all the Disney Princess!

The kids are on March Break here. I've been working from home for a week and a half. I go back in the office Wednesday. I was thinking of taking them to see it tomorrow evening. I hear it's getting rave reviews.

How would you compare it to Malificent? As the retelling of classic stories go?

Melody & Juliana saw Cinderella with my mom, dad, and grandmother on Saturday. They all said the movie was amazing. Even my dad was raving about it and he is not a Disney lover.

Ditto!

Little trick Jodi told me about. Some times it's hard to load My Disney Experience while in the park, so take a screen shot and all you have to do is look at your pictures. I'm going to make them my wallpaper for each day.

Just read that Tebow had a workout with the Eagles. Did they just solve QB issues? Tee and then a Hee.

Congrats on the kids' success and glad your son's knee is better.

Double congratulations on the new snow record, I knew Boston could do it.

Sorry but I have to disagree about the awesomeness level. According to me who happens to hold a degree in awesomeability ratings, Jasmine quite frankly out-awsomes all the other ladies by a factor of PI. So I have a funny story about this. When we took my 2 youngest girls on their first trip to the world at a meet and greet with Jasmine and Aladdin quite unexpectedly little Jasmine planted a kiss on my cheek. I turned completely red in the photo. Since then the jokes from my girls are legendary.

Your week is starting better than mine. that's for sure.

If the Mondays stop coming, you have a bigger issue on your hands.
Congrats on the kiddos' success. All proud papa moments.

:love1:
Pictures or it didn't happen.

Watched a lot of the SEC Tournament. Have a feeling UK is just toying with everyone else. Florida played tough for a half and then boom. Same with every other team they played.

They are playing great. One more tournament to go.

NORM- Your team is looking unstoppable.... my team is looking NIT.

Yeah, looks like no rematch this year.

Great pictures. How do the rooms there compare to the DVC rooms at WDW?

Congrats on the new snow record? :crazy2: Bought youngest dds new soccer cleats - size 9 1/2 at age 10.

Just read that Tebow had a workout with the Eagles. Did they just solve QB issues? Tee and then a Hee.
.

Mark should be happy. They now have the last piece to make the run for the title.

'Morning all...
Early to the party today.
Much better then being drowned by issues as soon as I get to my desk.

That's a whole lot of physical activity there.
Congrats on all the accomplishments and may they continue to grow and strengthen those skils.

Best feature pool on property. Would love to stay around there again at some point.

Speaking of college teams here. ;)

So it was better then Walt's version or is the story greatly different?

March break...
No wonder we haven't hear from you in a while.
We were about to consider giving control of the universe to someone else.
Hope y'all had a blast (and that you even got some work done).

Clever.

Oh, we'll be needin' pictures of that encounter sir.
Jasmin is our club's most sacred princess and second only to Goofy in illustrating the high ideals and aspirations of the group.

They are playing great. One more tournament to go.

I don't see them having much trouble taking that one more tournament this time around.
I'd certainly be very surprised if they don't
