Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

Great pictures. That is the one I really want to do. Now, if they could just add the Segway tour to Wild Africa Trek, then I wouldn't have to walk. :thumbsup2
Ya get to the point where you've seen and done just about everything there, so yeah- you have to start doing tours. That's where we are right now. They used to offer the Segway one in World Showcase but no more. I would have done that for sure.
Great pics so don't stop posting them, whatever their size. Especially like the Safari ones and the one of Anna and Elsa.

Aww, shucks. If you insist.

DD noticed this when we saw the talking mickey at Town Square. Mary's umbrella in Mickey's dressing room! Is he stepping out on Minnie??:scratchin

Here's the best look of the lion we ever got.

Our guides. They were awesome and one of them always had a camera shooting pics the whole time. The blond one was a part of the team that dreamed up and scripted the tour.

This is from Tomorrowland walking towards the tea cups. If you look through the tea cups structure you see the lights of the firetruck that came the night 7DMT was burning. This is as far as we could get. They had a line of cast members there turning people back towards Tomorrowland and giving stickers to the kids. Hey! They should try that in Ferguson, MO!!

Ahh, youth sports and referees. We have the same thing. They are really trying to keep the game moving unfortunately. One referee this weekend when I ask about a girl that was traveling said...and I quote....."they are all traveling". :sad2::sad2: When I asked if she planned to call a few just to teach some of them, she said "nope". I called a timeout, told DD to catch the ball and run to the hoop without dribbling. She called a travel. I commented that she said she wouldn't call it. I spent the rest of the game sitting quietly on the bench after the technical foul.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

A few, but not many. DD thought the whole thing was really funny and has been telling everyone she sees. At least she has a sense of humor.:thumbsup2

Now she'll be working hard during every game to see if she can get you thrown out.

Yup. Now let's get Joe Beer nipping at my liver.

+1:thumbsup2 I was hoping someone would finish that one.

You could try the old "I pay your salary!" bit. :confused3

It never works. :sad2:

And now I know why there was 3 new pages when I logged on. :lmao:

Happy Thanksgiving to you Jim!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Food & Wine was good, but here was the real highlight..

That safari tour looks fantastic. Your daughter looks like she had a blast.

Here's the best look of the lion we ever got.

Did you confirm that it is indeed animatronic? I figured one of the tour guides would know.

Tuesday Afternoon Early Payday Ownage!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Do what ya gotta go...the Bar must be protected at all costs....:rotfl2:

I'm usually subjected to a lecture from WIFECOM when I pull something like that, mostly on the topic of "are you proud of yourself now?? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yeah, I got the lecture. All the other parents were laughing hysterically though so I really only got the disapproving look and a brief explanation of setting a bad example.:thumbsup2

Jumping to conclusion ownage

"You People"? What do you mean by "You People"? Lol

Come on....you know.....YOU people.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

There, that's better. Thanks, Randall.

Me, daughter, and random other Wild Africa Trekker named Judy.

About 3/4 of the way through they feed you an "African-inspired" lunch in the Boma overlooking the savannah right by the flamingos. It was surprisingly awesome.

Great pics! Keep em coming. And watch out for those random Trekkers. I heard they'll follow you home like the hitchhiking ghosts.:goodvibes

This will make my top 10 highlights for the year.

Right behind the lobster and meeting up at MNSSHP I'm sure.

Penn Station Cheese Steak & beer for lunch. Gotta get my stomach ready for several days of eating.

Right behind the lobster and meeting up at MNSSHP I'm sure.

Well, Disney vacations usually fall right up there at the top. Yeah, you're stuck in memory now. :badpc:

Those lobster days rank high up there as well. My life seems to revolve around leisure, beer, and eating.

.

Yeah, I never did that Epcot Segway tour. I always wanted to. That one, Safari Trek, and Behind the Seeds tour are the ones I want to try. I'm not sure I want
to do the Kings to Kingdom tour as I don't want to diminish the magic.

DD noticed this when we saw the talking mickey at Town Square. Mary's umbrella in Mickey's dressing room! Is he stepping out on Minnie??:scratchin
]

Not sure about that, but we got the talking Mickey card tricks. That was really cool.

Good afternoon gentlemen.

I'm quite envious of all you guys complaining about having to come in tomorrow or Friday. My employer has declared "holiday status" which means, "Unless you or your kid is in the ER, you better be here."

May the consultation go well and may a good answer be found.
Positive vibes and May the Force be with Stretch today.
Burp

Good luck on your second opinion.
Good luck with the second opinion for Stretch.

Thanks for the update on the history.
Thanks guys. I'll let you guys know more when we get back.

You want the slab of bacon? Come and try to take it.

And I don't really think we need to worry about Minn-e-sot-ah getting that ax. Keeping it inside the stadium is a precaution so that, should some fluke of nature allow the yellow rodents to score more points that Wisconsin, it would save the Minnesota players the embarrassment of tripping over themselves trying the cross the field. :thumbsup2

This is not a Gopher team you want to sleep on. I'm not going to say we're going to win but if Buckey doesn't bring their A game it could be a long afternoon.

Sounds gross to me. :sad2:
Randall wins the internet for today.
Food & Wine was good, but here was the real highlight..

Keep the oversized photos coming.
I want to do that next time we're at the World but I'm not a fan of heights.

DD noticed this when we saw the talking mickey at Town Square. Mary's umbrella in Mickey's dressing room! Is he stepping out on Minnie??:scratchin
:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

Ok, no more pictures. They're just too daggone big.

Anyone remember the "You People" scene from an old Archie Bunker episode? No? Just me? Funny stuff.

I expected to go broke at food and wine. But each time we bought something, we each had a few bites and bought something else. I felt like we got more food for the dollar than we normally would have. Although the 3 bites of fillet for 8 bucks was a bit much.

Archie is one of my all time favorites and yes I remember the "yooouss people" - I have the complete series dvd box set.

Great pics and looks like you and DD had some great moments - why did you stop with the pics??? Say hi to your better half for us and have a great Thanksgiving.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
great pics. :thumbsup2

But...

more would be better.
Ok, buckle up...
That safari tour looks fantastic. Your daughter looks like she had a blast.

She had a great time - we both did. We asked if they were real and she said if they were animatronic they would move more.:rotfl: I also asked if those termite mounds were real. Their response: "Welllll, they're real in the sense that I can see them and they are actually there. But let's just say we don't won't to import African termites to Florida."

DW and I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour in March (with Mike! :thumbsup2). It was great and far easier on the budget. The magic is not ruined with that at all. You learn some cool stories. I already knew several of the things they talked about but it was still worth it.

Are you a fan of dropping $200 per person? That's a much more difficult hurdle to get over.

Will do. Same to you and yours. Why aren't the Hawks on NBCSN this year. They were on that all the time last year. I don't get NHL network so I haven't seem much of them at all.

Had to take a break from posting for the lunch time basketball game. I'm back now.

That's not so hard when a) the head of the finance committee also wants to go, b) it will be the 40th birthday/splurge trip.

Last year it seemed we just walked around the world stopping to buy 1 or 2 things at every both so we could all try everything. We didn't spend a lot of money at any one place, but added up I think it cost close to the same amount as a TS meal for the 4 of us.

If I remember right, there is a setting in Photobucket that will let you choose a size for your uploaded pictures you can set. Now once they are uploaded there's not much you can do.
Setting the sizing on upload is definitely the easiest way to do it.

If you want to resize pictures in photo bucket after you upload them can do the following:

Click the "editor" link in the top left hand corner of the page.
Open the Image (if you've already uploaded the image you should be able to browse to find the image in your bucket.)
Click Resize above the image
Leave the lock icon in the unlocked position (this will automatically change the width or height when you change the other item so that maintains the same aspect ratio)
Click Apply

I believe they offer off road segway tours at Fort Wilderness.

There are DVC and Annual Passholder discounts. See if you just spend more money with Disney you can save...

Oversized, out of focus pierogi with kielbasa and sauerkraut. If it were warm it may have been my favorite dish. Advice for future Food and Winers: Don't be among the first to eat at any of the kiosks where they are serving warm food. They make the food ahead of time and don't make hot, fresh stuff until they run out of the first batch. We got to the Poland kiosk at about 11:15 and probably got 30-minute old pierogis. Still good though.

Festive Livin' With The Land.

This is our "Every Trip" thing. We get multiple pictures with Mary Poppins every time we go. It's more fun when DW is there to spur on the conversation. DD is too shy to speak much. Next time, I'll be asking what her umbrella was doing at Mickey's and is Bert jealous.

Blurry selfie with a fairy.

Mike asked for an update of the hub, so here it is. I snapped this from the people mover. I'm sure they've made considerable progress since then, but as you can see it's a big deal.

Look guys! Smaller photo!

Apparently this is how a boy giraffe tries to find out if a girl giraffe wants to go out on a date. He's tasting her urine. I like the human way of asking a girl out much better.

You mentioned that your daughter is shy and doesn't speak much. I have the problem the other way. Both my dds will talk about anything to anyone. At home, they don't stop talking ever.

That's the DW wants to do. The stories would be cool.

Plus theme park admission for some of them as well. Dinner at Victoria & Albert's is over $300 per person (with alcohol) . I really want to eat there, but I'm having a difficult time swallowing that price. (pun intended)

..

I would like to try out a Segway. I'll never have enough free money to buy one. I enjoyed eating around the WS during F&W. I think we still ate dinner as well. Oh well.

There are DVC and Annual Passholder discounts. See if you just spend more money with Disney you can save...

Where is that double face palm when you need it.

Walking over the crocs was cool, but what may have been even cooler was inspiring envy in the regular park guests every time they drove by. Yes - I'm shallow like that.

You mentioned that your daughter is shy and doesn't speak much. I have the problem the other way. Both my dds will talk about anything to anyone. At home, they don't stop talking ever.

I've got one of each. The original DD is like I was. Super shy and doesn't want anyone to pay attention to her. The sequel (other DD) is like DW. Talks to anyone and everyone. They're both awesome, but the little one is way more entertaining. One will be president of the Math Club, the other will be president of her sorority. :sad2:
