Morning guys.

When I was at the original they had a replica bar upstairs is it still there?

There's a restaurant upstairs owned by the same management... The real "replica bar" is in Faneuil hall now.

I walked by the one at Faneuil Hall.

Tourist trap. And if you guys can get away with using the CC, have at it. It is BoA's problem now not mine.

Norm!!!!

Was that during your last trip?

Internet up and working today! Looks like I'll be posting again. Hope all are well. Prayers for those in need, congrats to those deserving and a Happy Thanksgiving to all the dads and their families!

Morning guys.

Morning Paul:goodvibes

And this is my last work day of the week. Well, last day in the office which should never be confused with work.

I have to come in tomorrow. As with Murphy and his laws I had to be home yesterday to have the water heater replaced.:headache::mad: Of course it couldn't fail while we were working on the basement. It had to wait until 3 weeks after everything was finished and the new carpets, walls and bar were at risk. Luckily I caught it before the leaking commenced. New heater, containment and warning alarm and emergency shut off installed. $2K for the full job.:headache::headache:, but at least the bar is safe.:thumbsup2:lmao::lmao: Have a great turkey day!

Keeping the bar safe is the most important thing. :rotfl2:

DS has his first basketball game on Saturday. It was pretty close, but we just couldn't get any shots to fall, whereas it seemed like everything the other team tossed up went in. And, despite our working on it and stressing it in practice, the ref wasn't calling double dribble. So the other team would pick up their dribble then start up again at will, whereas we stopped drippling and looked for a pass or a shot. Hard to tell the kids to ignore everything we taught them in practice.

Ahh, youth sports and referees. We have the same thing. They are really trying to keep the game moving unfortunately. One referee this weekend when I ask about a girl that was traveling said...and I quote....."they are all traveling". :sad2::sad2: When I asked if she planned to call a few just to teach some of them, she said "nope". I called a timeout, told DD to catch the ball and run to the hoop without dribbling. She called a travel. I commented that she said she wouldn't call it. I spent the rest of the game sitting quietly on the bench after the technical foul.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

On a positive, DD team went 2-1 this weekend and played well. The 7th grade girls I am coaching did the same. My 7th grade girls beat two teams they lost to last year by a lot. A good way to start the basketball season.

Jus keep teaching them the right things. It will pay off as they get older.

A friend of mine coaches 8-9 yrs girls basketball. I went to a few games last year. The refs were more apt not to call traveling/ double dribbles at the beginning of the season. As the year went on, they called it a lot more. Maybe that is what you are going to deal with. :confused3

OK, we'll call it next week.:lmao::lmao: That's a good way to keep them guessing.:thumbsup2

Just got back from WDW, and decided I needed to join this group (if I may allowed to do so).

Realized I had no business getting upset with my wife (non Disney person), when she did not meet me in front of the Bakery, because she assumed I would know that she really meant the Confectionery. Not the BAKERY.

It was a quite ride home when she saw the eye roll.

Welcome to the group!

Please excuse the lateness of my comments as I was away again due to the internet no cooperation.

Just got a personalized letter from Giancarlo Stanton. If you didn't hear, he signed a big time, long term contract with the Marlins.

He thanked me for my past support blah, blah and hoped I will support them next season. May have to think about this. My biggest complaint was Loria would just dump major talent just to save money. A lot will depend on their next few steps but I may have to rethink my "not giving them any money" position.

May get fooled again but maybe this time Lucy will let Charlie Brown kick the ball.

Well, you are old. Maybe he thought you would have forgotten by now.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Apparently the Red Sox found your lost credit card. They are going on a holiday shopping spree. Ramirez and Sandabal(sp?) all in one day. I'd check your balances to make sure.:lmao::rotfl2:

Of course the last time the Sox did this it didn't turn out too well. mate the Dodgers will take them after two years.:thumbsup2

Oh, Morning Nemie. Hope things are well. PP back from school for the holiday?

That is what I am worried about. They already fooled me three times and I am a bit gun-shy.

It took 3 times??:confused3 Even monkeys learn after two.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now THESE are quality posts men! This is what drew me to the DISDad forum, but it's def what keeps me coming back for more. Where else can you find a place that endorses carnivorous appetites, adores Canadians, offers up prayers for those in need all the while encouraging abuse of men of the cloth?

Detoit:confused3:rotfl::rotfl:

Congrats on the games, we split on the weekend. Played terrible in the first game but the boys played awesome in the second. DS is having a monster year so far.

Top O the Morning Dads - 5:00 today needs to get here much faster.

Good evening gentlemen.

On Wednesday we're taking Stretch down to the Mayo clinic for a second opinion on ear reconstruction. Its just a consult, nothing major. Otherwise nothing major going on here. Just busy.
Positive vibes and May the Force be with Stretch today.
Just being with my own family is fine. It's being around the extra family members that we see a few times a year and only cause drama. That's when I bring out the drinking formula.
Sound plan, just get more "own family" time over the next few days to outweigh the drama and keep the bourbon flowing to not hear the drama :lmao:
My focus is on the Semi-Holes this weekend. Would love to wipe that smirk off Winston's face and make Jumbo cry. Unlikely to happen but would love to see it.
I am with you 100%. Never thought I would say these words but go Gators!
Good morning. I hope everyone enjoys their 3 day week. Just found out I get to come in to work on Friday. :headache:

I feel your pain Andy - I'll be here working Friday too. :headache:
Sorry about that guys, hopefully it will be slow and quite for yas.

Glad you saved the bar and a Happy Thanksgiving to you as well

Jack Frost nipping at your nose, Mr. Peterson?

And this is my last work day of the week. Well, last day in the office which should never be confused with work.

Somebody had the bright idea of scheduling a meeting here tomorrow morning. I'm calling the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

Happy late birthday Capt. O!

Thank you sir!

Almost made it. :lmao:

Would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those dang kids.

No, but I am taking him to the Colts vs. Redskins this weekend.

So, his punishment is sitting next to me, lol

I thought your punishment was sitting next to me. :lmao:.

Umm... OK guys no need to fight over it. we'll all agree that sitting next to either of you is punishment, especially if you have to watch the Colts and Redskins.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Did I mention the Patriots are in first place.:confused3

Reminds me of this story that happened just a few weeks ago here in Milwaukee...

B2PqaxiCEAEmvvv.jpg

Seems this semi truck driver was blindly following his GPS - even when it tried to send him through a park and over a pedestrian bridge.

Call CJ's truck driving school at 800-can-drive. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: We also have Shiv making and low budget front yard trailer park access. ::yes::

Don't think I have said Hi today. Hi!

Hi Randall!:wave2:

Hello guys, just did the reading catch up. Ah, for the days I could find time to post regularily.:sad2:

Got the tree up this weekend. I think I put more decorations back into storage then on the tree itself. Think the tree is now 80% Disney. Best part is when you turn it on, the Steamboat Willy ornament starts playing the song/whistle from the short. Added a Mickey-Firefighter to the tree this year as a tribute to Dad.

Hey Brent. Cool ornaments in memory of your dad. We'll be starting the decorating tomorrow. Hoping they get the leaves done today. Need to go buy new lights for the outside of the house. The LED lights that last 100 years lasted two.:headache: The bulbs seemed to be OK, but something in the wiring is messed up.

Watching some old Cheers episodes on Netflix. Found a few that have Carla pregnant and drinking beer. Times sure have changed.

I know. Drinking beer when pregnant is ridiculous. We all know bourbon is a better choice.:rolleyes1

Staying out of the Sconie/Sota fight. My focus is on the Semi-Holes this weekend. Would love to wipe that smirk off Winston's face and make Jumbo cry. Unlikely to happen but would love to see it.

Your still rooting of for Florida State?:confused3 Sorry can't do it with that idiot at QB and the NCAA pretty much looking the other way. BC should have bean them this weekend. I know they are undefeated, but have been very lucky the last 3-4 weeks. Should have at least 2 losses on their record and out of the championship picture.

Morning guys

Morning David!

Good morning! Hope everyone's doing well! Nothing to report here, move on to the next post!

Morning Philip!

G'mornin! This post really isn't much better. Keep going...

Keeping going as instructed. Good Morning.

Good morning. I hope everyone enjoys their 3 day week. Just found out I get to come in to work on Friday. :headache:

Sorry you need to work on Friday. Is that a cough I hear.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey we get to work all week. :rolleyes1

Have a good one everyone.

You already had your Thanksgiving. Feel free to have a turkey sandwich for lunch on Thursday. Or you could drive down and sit at the table with us? We'll leave a chair open for you.

‘Morning all…
A rather gray day down here; suites my mood though.

The original one in Beacon Hill (previously called the Bull & Finch) is def worth going to. It doesn't look like the tv show, at all, but it does have the stairs going down, and has it's own kind of charm. I actually like it a lot. (Be prepared for a lot of Cheers themed menu items though).

I’ll add that to my travel notes.
No clue when I’ll get up that way, but I’d certainly like to.

On Wednesday we're taking Stretch down to the Mayo clinic for a second opinion on ear reconstruction. Its just a consult, nothing major.

May the consultation go well and may a good answer be found.

From Wikipedia:
The rivalry's first trophy was the "Slab of Bacon", in use from 1930 to 1943. Created by R. B. Fouch of Minneapolis, it is a piece of black walnut wood with a football at the center bearing a letter that becomes "M" or "W" depending on which way the trophy is hung. The word "BACON" is carved at both ends, implying that the winner has "brought home the bacon." The trophy's tenure ended when Minnesota's 1943 victory in Minnesota led to the fans rushing the field. Wisconsin student Peg Watrous was to bring the trophy to a Minnesota representative after the game, but could not find her in the commotion, and subsequently lost track of the "bacon".[5][6] Reportedly, the trophy was sent to Minnesota's locker room, but coach George Hauser refused it, suggesting such traditions be held off until after World War II.[7] It was subsequently lost; a new trophy, "Paul Bunyan's Axe", was introduced in 1948.[7]

The trophy was lost for over 50 years. In 1992, Wisconsin coach Barry Alvarez joked that "we took home the bacon, and kept it."[8] In 1994, Wisconsin intern Will Roleson found it in an old storage closet at Camp Randall Stadium. It had evidently been maintained for some time, as game scores through 1970 were painted on the back. It is now displayed at the Camp Randall Stadium football offices.[5]

Interesting stuff…
As my daddy still says right regularly: “Ya’ learn something new every day if you’re not real careful.”

Hey we get to work all week. :rolleyes1

Odd… those of us down this way were saying about the same thing back in October.

Yikes! 2k ain’t good...
but redoing a brand spanking new finished basement would have been considerably worse.
Glad you caught the fault before the failure occurred.

Keeping the bar safe is the most important thing. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Safe and stocked.

Way to go Coach! :thumbsup2 I've been there. Did she call any more travels after that?

Congrats on the games, we split on the weekend. Played terrible in the first game but the boys played awesome in the second. DS is having a monster year so far.

A few, but not many. DD thought the whole thing was really funny and has been telling everyone she sees. At least she has a sense of humor.:thumbsup2

Congrats to Declan! DS has to try out for high school this year. Hoping he has a good year.

You already had your Thanksgiving. Feel free to have a turkey sandwich for lunch on Thursday. Or you could drive down and sit at the table with us? We'll leave a chair open for you.

Yes but our Thanksgiving is never on a Thursday so we can take Friday off as well. :lmao:

8 hour drive to get to dinner.....tempting, especially given that bar that was saved and the huge tv that would be great to watch some football.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: You just won coach of the year with that move!

Darcy makes a good point... Was travel called any more after that incident?
