Don't self-hate either. I'll pick you up this trip just the same as you did for me on your last trip.

Interesting…
So what do you suppose I searched for to prompt this pop-up ad?

Creative ways in stopping the dreaded cruise chair hogs?

Ever see anything like THIS in your corn fields?

The craziest part is at the end:

As they watched the bonfire die down, they asked the DEA officials to estimate the value of the marijuana they had just burned. The reply: half a million dollars. The farmers had to laugh. The value of the corn that had been cut down to grow it? $32.

You right, I'm sorry. I don't really hate them, I hate myself for not going with them.

Hey can one of you swing by and pick me up? It would really help me feel better about myself.

I was suppose to be in Montreal next week until the day before my trip, so I would have at least been closer... Trip was cancelled though, so it would be a long way to go to pick you up...

Man it's hot today!! Tomorrow it's only going to be in the 70's. I'm looking forward to fall!

Hell of a bonfire. Did they ask for some Doritos after they laughed about it?

I saw that story earlier this week. I had to laugh at the article for a lot of reasons. It is nothing new... not even close. We've had it in our fields before, but I'm telling you, the authorities find it before we ever do.

The authorities look for suspicious activities in cornfields around here this time of year. I've scouted a corn field before and had a police car sitting right by my truck wanting to know what I was doing.

We had a neighbor earlier this summer who was cutting some weeds out of a field and half the Sheriff's department showed up.

The whole thing about the color difference not being visible in small plots from above... yeah, I'm calling BS on that. It sticks out like sore thumb. The times that we've had it found in our fields, it was found by helicopter. They can visibly see the difference in the colors flying over a corn field. It doesn't take many plants to stand out enough for them to take a closer look. They found a small plot in one of our fields probably 10 or 12 years ago that was only about 10 plants, and they weren't even planted all together in the same row.

Indiana, anyway, has had an active program that specifically looks for these plots. It has been in place for as long as I can remember. It is a joint effort between the National Guard and state and local law enforcement agencies. I'm actually friends with the guy who runs the program on the NG side, and he has confirmed to me how easy it is to spot from a helicopter. They're always flying around looking for it, and more often than not, they find it. Obviously, with small plots here and there, they'll never be able to find it all, but they do find quite a bit of it that way.

I have to say though, that I've never seen marijuana growing in a corn field when we harvest. And it would definitely stick out then, because if it was there it would still be green plants in a row of brown corn plants.

Thanks for the insight. Indiana may have an active program to combat it but maybe other states don't? I don't think the article stated the location this occurred.

Hehehehehehehehehe
:smokin: popcorn::

I have a first round bye in tennis tournament starting tonite. I have no idea if that was because of 2nd place finish I last one, blind draw, or it is just too sad/ ugly to watch me play. 1/3 odds ain't half bad. :lmao:

Top O the Mornin Dads! Heading out today around noon to head to family weekend at UTC. Includes football game between #15 UTC & #9 Jacksonville St (rankings are FCS or D2) so should be a good game unless mother nature holds to forecast with an 80% chance of storms. Have a good weekend guys and enjoy the kid activities :)

Safe travels and hopefully good weather. I'm going for the rain delay strategy here.

I feel sorry for Colorado. They get to sell it and tax it now. There is no profit in that. :sad2:

That makes two of us.

BBQ sauce is like ointment to the animals. It takes the hurt away. Therefore, I'm actually making them feel better.
.

Sounds like a little known Cliff fact. Thanks for clearing that up.

That would be this one...

Nice choice :thumbsup2

Yup, there's David sneaking past the household of sleeping lions, er um, children. :lmao:

. I thought I was Looney Tunes, but couldn't remember. Saturday morning cartoons were so much fun. What's up, Doc?

Andy wouldn't waste his time with that. The real money is in his opium den.

Oh, just crop circles. No big deal.

Sir, You have a men's group every morning, afternoon and evening!

:thumbsup2

Morning guys. I have a men's group on Friday mornings and I have to leave by 5:15am. I'll try to do better next Friday, lol
Whoa, whoa, whoa. THIS is a men's group. What is this OTHER one that you speak of? I'm not sure that I like the sound of this.

Youngest DD had grandparents day at school. My FIL picked her up in the corvette to take her to school. She was smiling extra this AM.
Way cool.

I went to bed after the Cobb TD pass. Figured that was as good as it was going to get. :(
Yeah, I do a weekly pick em pool. You pick any 5 games against the spread. I had GB at +6. The Lacy concussion was just salt int he wound I'm sure.

I think that only works for gophers. And his friends - the harmless squirrel and the friendly rabbit.
We can do that; we don't even have to have a reason. ;-)

The weekend has arrived for me. Calm before the storm in the Williams' household right now. DW is out with DDs shopping. DD turns 10 next week but we are having her Bday party tomorrow night. Total of 10 girls...all hovering around the 10 YO age. The plan is Harry Potter on our inflatable outdoor screen (weather permitting) followed by the sleepover.

Mind you, I live in an average sized split level home. I may be drinking heavily tomorrow night . Heavily-er than usual that is.

Current forecast is calling for rain most of the day but it looks like we may be clear in the late evening (fingers crossed.) We start the day with my 6yo's soccer game at 9am followed by a noon game for my 9yo. Let the fun and frivolity commence!

Really crummy last couple of days. Even though it has just begun, I need September to be over with and October to begin. Football tomorrow. Looking forward to Florida finally starting its season (hopefully). Some good games on so maybe a quick run for breakfast and then plop in front of the TV. Phins take on the Phats but with a totally new line, the fish may not bring joy to S. Florida.

Have a good weekend guys. Thirty-one days util I am at Disney.

Thirty-one days util I am at Disney.

Hope it get's better....

Don't you practically live at Disney, I mean really if you wanted to... couldn't you just hop in the car, head 200 miles north and be riding Star Tours in the time it takes to watch Empire Strikes Back... :thumbsup2

Anyone that has Starz on their cable, Saving Mr. Banks is on now. Emma Thompson got screwed on the Oscars. She should have won. "Will the child be a nuisance? It is an 11 hour flight." ..."I hope we crash." I am in a better mood already.

Hope it get's better....

Only if you want to watch the dogs. The mutt I like can stay outside for a night but the mutt I didn't want would haul butt under the fence. I would be OK with it but he would invariably come back and a neighbor would complain about him taking a dump in their flowerbed. And it is 253.7 miles away, give or take tenth or two.

Back from tennis. I hope Brett won a big jackpot as I got spanked. I think that was the last tournament of the summer season. Hopefully, I'll do better next year.

David is seeing another group of guys on the side. He brings them flowers and candy. :lmao:

Brave soul. Remember the DisDad Extraction Beacon if you need it. Good luck to the children at soccer.

Chin up buttercup. Things will turn for the better. :thumbsup2

Brady's got a bum calf or something, so they may turn on Sunday for you. ;)

Very true!

Yup, there's David sneaking past the household of sleeping lions, er um, children. :lmao: . I thought I was Looney Tunes, but couldn't remember. Saturday morning cartoons were so much fun. What's up, Doc?

Are you kidding me?? I make all kinds of noise before I leave! I don't have to deal with grumpy kids waking up ;)

It's called That Man is You. It's at one of our local parishes. DISdads come first of course!
