Tournament over. I lost 3-6, 4-6. Not too bad for 20 years between tournaments. Maybe next year. I celebrated with the last of my Basil Hayden KY Bourbon.

Got back in last night after long delay at MCO and a lost bag. Despite the return hassles we had a great trip and it was an enjoyable family time trip. Here are a couple of pics from fishing last week. We caught 24 bass.
]

Good pictures. Would that be 24 bass in 2 hours? How many of you on the boat?

Unpacked. Just need a grocery run and we are set.

At least a beer run. :drinking1:

Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; May your favorite team win, unless they’re playing mine; Disney, Dole Whips & Bacon for All!

What teams are playing right now?

OK - what'd I miss??? :confused3

Just got back from a week at the beach - Hilton Head. Haven't been since 2001 - glad to see that not a whole lot had changed other than a ton more people know about the place! BUSY!

The drive made me never want to take a road trip ever again. Let's just say we had a tire issue on the rental car at 3am (yes we drove through the night), and we had to keep enough air in it to make it to the rental agency parking lot until they opened up to get a replacement vehicle. I could've put on the spare but it was a mini spare and we had 480 miles to go. I wasn't going to drive that on a mini.

So we slept in the rental car in the middle of nowhere'sville West Virginia until the agency opened up.

I guess it could've been worse, but the normal 13 hour drive took us 22. :scared:

But the driving fun wasn't done yet. We heard through the powers of the interwebs the night before our drive back that the north bound tunnel in I-77 in VA was closed due to a tractor trailer accident. Knowing this area is usually a bottleneck in normal traffic...we decided to go all the way across SC and take I-75 north and add another 1.5 hours to our trip to avoid an hassle.

We left at 6am and go home at 9:45p. About 3 hours longer than what it could've been if we had a working tunnel in VA!

But we're all home safely and that's what counts. :beach:

Hope all is well with all of you. Prayers to those that need them!

Nice performance on the tennis and a nice bourbon to top it off - nicely done. Yes 24 bass in two hours - the guide did a great job for us and it was just our family of 4 but really with only 3 fishing as DS was busy taking pics and cm cording as he loved being behind the scenes and in world showcase lagoon before things were opened. DS caught 1 with only 1 cast, DW snagged 2 while DD snagged 10 and I caught 11. A handful were in the 5-8 lb range as well.

Welcome back. Sorry about the driving issues, but you made it safely, which is all that counts. :thumbsup2

Top O the Mornin Dads. Missed a thread close and already far into the new one while we were at the DaWorld. Lots of catching up to do but congrats to the kids, prayers to those in need and welcome.

Sorry you lost… now you should continue the workouts and then smoke the competition next year.

But we're all home safely and that's what counts. :beach:
Welcome back! The best part about your trip is you'll have some great stories to tell your grandkids. :rotfl::rotfl:

Morning guys.

Go get em next year nemie!

Scott, glad you guys made it home safe and sound!

Morning Guys.

Sorry to tell you all that it is Monday again.

Welcome back Scott and well done Norm.

Morning all". Oldest dd finished up summer swim, and younger dd has her last soccer camp this week. So, I get another 5 days of chauffeuring. I'm looking forward to school starting back in August, as it is less work on me. :lmao:

Sorry to hear about all the driving issues and glad you made it back safely. We are still planning for DHHIR in April 2016.

Thanks. And, thanks for the fish update. I'm not sure how long my dds would make it without getting a fish. We may try booking an excursion next year as I didn't get a lot of yea votes this time around.

:thumbsup2

:

Thanks. I hadn't planned to compete this year, and surprised myself that I survived without needing oxygen or some other life saving device. Hopefully, another year of weight loss will help me immensely.

Go get em next year nemie!
!

Thanks.

Not bad at all. And considering you didn't mention any major injuries, I'd definitely consider it a win. :thumbsup2

Wow... interesting trip.

You weren't driving one of these beauties, were you?

Great stories to tell for sure!

‘Morning all…
Back to work it is. Dang. But we enjoyed a short excursion out to Atlanta to take in the DCI Southeastern Regionals at the Georgia Dome. Most of the seriously demented band geeks will know what that is and I’ll spare the more normal among you the details except to say that we enjoyed the performances mightily (The Blue Devils won it, followed by The Cadets, Blue Coats and Carolina Crown just in case you’re really interested).

We also took about an hour or so to checked out the “World of Coke” Museum. Mostly because we had free admission and it was in walking distance to the hotel and the stadium. If you like memorabilia, it’s a decent diversion. The “grand reveal” of the locked vault holding the secret formula is rather silly (as were several other exhibits to be honest), but the mass tasting room is a winner. Imagine Club Cool at Epcot multiplied by ten. There are supposedly better than sixty different soft drinks you can try. I don’t have any good pictures handy right now, but the web is here to provide…

They had them all separated by continent. The Asian drinks were all either quite fruity or rather vegi-esk, but the African verities were the least palatable in total. The “Bibo” from South Africa is pretty nasty, and “Stoney” which is sold in Tanzania is nearly as bad as Beverly. Nearly… Even here, nothing out bads Beverly. But there is plenty of the regular stuff to wash out the bad taste and they give you a free bottled 8oz to take with you.

Overall verdict, it’s decent but I don’t know if I’d pay the full admission price. Oh and if you’re going, get there early. It starts off with a couple of preshows (basically long commercials) and by noon the line to get in was nearly as epic an Elsa and Anna standby queue (and out in the hot sun).

Now to go back a bit and see what y'all have been up to.

First off…
Here’s your bad idea of the day:

stupid%20people%20301.jpg

Now then…

Thanks guys. Lost doubles this morning, but I am ok with that. I had really only intended to play one or the other. I'll enjoy the rest for the singles final.

My, my but that’s a whole lot of strenuous activity for a founding member of Team Sparrow.

Thanks. And thanks for info on ibuprofen. I thought it was safe. I'll return to drinking. :lmao:

But this is more like it. Long live Team Sparrow! pirate:
(but congrats on the tournament play as well… nice work :thumbsup2)

Congrats. On the bright side...
Short answer: arthroscopy to clean up meniscus and scar tissue.
Long answer: Hurt my knee skiing in January. Saw ortho (and my chiropractor) and it was diagnosed as a sprin b\c of the knee's stability. Was getting better but certain movements still were excruciating. So went to see Ortho again in June and they set me up for an MRI. Found out that my acl was torn. But given how my knee was progressing and how stable it was, they didn't want to do reconstructive. So they cleaned it up, from their perspective, perfectly. So with the meniscus and scar tissue fixed, I should get my range of motion back without pain. So I'm all fired up to rehab it. Right now it looks like a grapefruit! But I took my dog for a walk today and chatted with some neighbors. I'm going to try some exercises tonight and then probably indulge in some Percocets!

Ouch. Glad it’s minor, surgically speaking. Heal up quickly sir.

Any one going to WDW the next week or 2, We will be there from the 30th till the 7th :confused3

I wish!
But y’all have fun storming the castle.

Heading to Key Largo tomorrow morning. Clyde is doing his second check out dives and I will do my best to make sure he doesn't make it back to the boat. If conditions are Ok, and I get something to look at, I'll post some pics.

I’ll have to go find the pics later on.
So were you successful in your side mission or is the boy still daring to date your daughter. ;)

That’s an image I’d like to see in person right now.
Glad the trip was a great success, I’ll wait until you get over the withdrawal symptoms before welcoming you home, but in the meantime I say: start planning the next trip… now.

Quite the adventure. Hate that you had such trouble. Good that the non-traveling parts of the trip went well. Oddly, we probably passed each other on I-77 as you were on your way down, and since I was traveling as well, probable again on I-20 on your way back home.

Morning Guys.

Sorry to tell you all that it is Monday again.

Thanks for the reminder… :sad2:

You think you hate it now, wait 'til you drive it.

Proud father moment....

One of the twins this morning woke up, came down stairs and the first thing she asked DW?

I have been in bed thinking what 7,8, & 9 will be like. DW was like what are you talking about?

DD says Star Wars of course! I'm off to buy her a pony and a car today ;)

I love that kid :thumbsup2

Seems like an excellent strategy....I think I'll have to try that soon! :drinking1

That's so much better than waking up screaming "I hope they're not as bad as Episodes 1, 2 3!"
