I only get 1 day a week off so now it's till next Weds, before I'm off again The only thing keeping me going now is our Nov trip

When in nov are ya going. ..? :wink: Maybe we can meet up.

I gotta pick a special thing for DS to do on his trip. Right now its tentatively jake and the Netherlands pirates package. I was wanting a parade with characters but was told they do not allow kids to ride in parades anymore by my make a wish coordinator. Grr I need ideas.

I do enjoy shark week and still plan to watch some of the shows. But I do take it with a grain of salt. Especially after their Megalodon mockumentary last year. I do like the fact that they have some great quality video footage of some impressive animals that we might not otherwise get a chance to see.

I know what you mean about their over dramatization and being a little bit less than credible, but I do like some of the things they do. I thought the whole submarine with cameras that follows the shark into the depths was a great concept. Until I started thinking... won't a submarine following a shark about 20' behind it likely change its normal behavior? Well, that question got answered by about the third time the submarine was attacked.

A lot of people believe the Megalodon crap though. A couple of years ago, Discovery Channel asked the shark tagging people if they could film them. Why they asked. Well, can you get a bunch of sharks to go into feeding frenzy so we can film them? We can but we won’t.

That happened a couple of times to me. Hate it. With one job I took time out of my vacation to send out resumes.

We already do a good job of teaching nothing… no sense in also sensationalizing the fact.

I think they're doing far more to hurt awareness with some of those shows than help it. Those of us (like you and me) who live on/near the beach are well aware there are sharks in the water, and some of them nearby.

It always seems like the media is shocked, SHOCKED I SAY, when there's a bite...

Personally I'm more surprised that it doesn't happen MORE OFTEN than it does already.

Maybe Chick-fil-a should sponsor it. Have the cows carry signs, “We kill more people in one month than these pansy sharks do in one year.” "Eat more chicken or else we are coming after you."

My grandfather raised cattle, and they are faster than you think, especially when feeding them. The real killer is all the methane gas from cows. And being so tasty with all that cholesterol.

I like the sound of it too. I wear crocs year round (in the snow I wear 2 pairs of socks). Wjen my feet get wet I tend to "quack" whem I walk in them. Lol.

CJ doesn't like crocs. I wear them often as well.

That does stink. My reasoning has more to do with inequity in pay. I really need to go somewhere else and make more $, but have become so accustomed to the lack of effort I put forth.

Never a fan of Shark Weak, but I am now officially done with it. There may be a couple of programs that are legitimate and informative but by far, they are overly staged, overly dramatic, terribly acted and in most cases present lies as fact simply for titillation.

Friday Eve! Today is DWs bday so out to dinner with the family to celebrate. We move DD back to school Saturday so will be a nice but short getaway for us all. Work thing is way out of whack with first budget miss projection here in over 10 years but it is unfortunately a doosey and not as much fun when having to deal with the ramifications of something like this. That is all for today - be safe out there and look out for all the head stomping Clarabelle cows out there.
