Another question about MNSSHP. What % of kids dress up? What about adults?

I would say about 70% -80% under 10 years old. After that, it seems they start getting too cool for costumes. I would say 50-60% from the parties for older kids and 30% of adults at the parties we were at. We are usually earlier in October. I wonder if more dress up as you get closer to Halloween.

DD will be turning 12 and plans to dress up this year. Elsa from Frozen right now, but we'll see as we get closer. I will probably wear something silly, but not a full costume, depends on the mood. Maybe a pirate since Team Sparrow must be represented and Norm plans to be there as well.

Also, do you like pizza??? :confused3

100% of the cool ones do. :cool1:

Funny story about that (maybe just funny to me)...
We were there 7 years ago, and went in without costumes... It felt like we were the only ones there not dressed up, so we went and bought some pirate-mickey-ears and wore those with our regular old t-shirt and short outfits... DW was pregnant, so more often than not throughout the night I was waiting for her outside one of the bathrooms in MK. On one of those waits, a kid, maybe 13/14 years old, walked up to me, dressed in a full banana costume, looking 100% ridiculous, and says, "I really, really, like your outfit." Dead-panned it. No emotion, no expression. Then just turns and walks off. I was in hysterics, and spent the rest of the night trying to find the kid to convince my wife it happened... Never saw him again.

I still look for him when we go back to that party... If you see him, tell him I said I like his outfit too.

Evening guys. A bit late today just too much goin on. All have a great weekend and Hppy Birthday David - how are the kids doin?

We are under 10 years on the existing house and hope to get it paid off in 4-5 when DS heads off to college. That way we can just keep making the payment without a big jump in expenses. Yup, college is now a mortgage payment.

Happy to hear she is doing better and on her way. I hated that brace. If my experience is any indication, she will get stronger every day now that thing is gone. Continued good luck!
College is a mortgage payment + :sad2:
Thanks for the well wishes for DD.

Sorry 'bout your luck Chris :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

You made a banana split. popcorn::

I'll wear the same Jack Skellington tshirt I've worn to each party for the last three or four years. My dds will wear some type of dance outfits that we paid for in dance recital.

If you do dress them up, make sure they wear tennis shoes. May not be as cute, but carrying them with hurt feet in a scratchy dress doesn't sound like much fun either.

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I'm not even sure his own family would help for that. :rotfl2:

Doubtful. They're used to premium beers and pizza - like PBR & Dijourno. :lmao:

Evening guys... Just got back from NJ for work. Took the Acela home, ended up sitting next to Bill Nye, the Science Guy for a stop before he got off in NY... Cool guy. No one seemed to notice who he was. Maybe I'm just a big nerd. :confused3

Did you tell him you loved his work in Ellen's Universe of Energy (aka nap time)?

This year I'm going to change it up, the jack skellington costume was Hot and sweaty. Since DD is being Elsa, I'm going to be Olaf with a white shirt and make a hat. I agree with the tennis shoes, When DD fell asleep on the bus back and the long carry to LM rooms at AoA were miserable! And DD has Elsa shoes but she will have sneakers also.

Congrats again. How is communication with them going so far? Were they taught much English?

Pretty good. They understand quite a bit. DW has a better grasp on Polish than I do. My oldest DS learned some in school and has been on admission to expand that knowledge. He has been reading some Dr. Seuss books all by himself. Give him a few more months and I think he will have a really good grasp on the language. The other three are learning, but still communicate with each other in Polish.

The kids are doing great. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Happy birthday David

Thank you Sean!

Yeah, I'm all about comfort. That year I put on the pirate wig alone was way too hot, which was why there was no companion costume. I didn't care to grow my beard out, but that will be the max effort. Now, I'm just keeping that tshirt for annual MNSSHPs.

Wow. In 7 years I've never come up with that... That's quite well done my friend. :thumbsup2 I approve. ;).

:thumbsup2

Morning Guys,

Last day of school here for the kids. DW has to go until Tuesday with the rest of the teachers.

Did you tell him you loved his work in Ellen's Universe of Energy (aka nap time)?
Yeah, but at least it's a long nap.
You made a banana split. popcorn::
Did you get permission from Barry to make that joke? That's right in his wheelhouse.
100% of the cool ones do. :cool1:

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I've got a Captain America shirt so there's the Marvel connection although it's kind of lame. But there's no way I'm letting my little girl go as Black Widow.

Good Morning!

That would have been a great question. Never even would have crossed my mind to talk about Ellen.

DD wants to go as Elsa as well. She was showing me every dress she could find on line last night. I'll have to come up with something.

'Morning all...
