Morning...another early shift, have a major job I need to get done in one shift, been a bit stressing over it for the past few weeks. Deep breath....

Morning guys. Another Monday, another snow day for the public schools. :rotfl2:

It was a busy weekend with a bunch of computer time over the weekend trying to get life's chaos organized and managed to do a pretty good job at it.5 years worth of financial records, insurance information etc are now on a flash drive instead of shoved in boxes and the papers are shredded. :cool1:

Every five years or so I get interested in genealogy research. Assuming I am correct, I managed to track my paternal line back to 1601 in West Peckham, County Kent, England. My 10th great grandfather arrived in the US in Salem, MA 1630 and my son son has the same name as his 10th great-grandfather.

Peanut Butter and Beverly. Rubber Ducky grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I had to be confronted by a rich entitled soccer mommy at the Taekwondo school. Yes my daughter did an illegal sparring move. But no one yells at my kid but me. And no (swear word about this woman) is ever going to shame my child. And then when I actually have a polite exchange with her by email (it truly was) she goes and demands that the school owner meet with me. Because I'm also an instructor (not for my daughter), he had to give me the what for (and give me the wink after). My blood is boiling so much I could melt all the snow in the Midwest.

Sorry to rant on this thread but @&$@&##%!!!!!!!

I've been biting my tongue at DS's soccer games at the Y lately. There is this other kid on the team that is starting to annoy the crap out of me. He goes out of his way to get in DS's way. I don't think he's doing it to be mean, he's just doesn't appear to have the correct social skills to know any better. And judging from the fact that his parents have spend just about every minute of every game and practice playing on their phones, I'm guessing he's not getting any guidance from them. But to actually yell at someone else's kid? That' way over the line.

So what did she do? Was she watching Bloodsport again and mimicking some of Chong Li's moves?

It is thru the cake people. But, there are some cakes you can only get at certain locations. And, I don't know if you can get in advance. Here is Dis thread about them.

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2912870&highlight=official+cake+thread
I ordered a cake for DW's birthday in January. We were staying at Old Key West, so I called the number listed on that thread. The lady was extremely nice and went over all of the options for the cake. Gave me the option of picking it up or having them deliver it to the room. Even billed the cake directly to the room.

Mornin dads.
The girls actually had school today, but my youngest woke up with an upset stomach so I get to stay home with her today. Needed to go in today to get caught up on work, but DW starts her new job today. Guess they will have to do without me.

I got into genealogy a while back with my Grandmother. She got me signed up as a member of the State Genealogy Assoc. We were able to track one side of the family to the Canary Islanders who founded San Antonio in 1731. I have started working on some of our other lines, but it is slow going with the old government Indian records.

More ice coming tomorrow. UGH. wish this weather would make up its mind. Yesterday 75 and sunny, today 40 for a high and rainy, tomorrow ice. And it looks like the South East is going to get another round of snow and ice. Is Atlanta making a bid at a winter Olympics now?

Morning guys.

Morning David.

Morning...another early shift, have a major job I need to get done in one shift, been a bit stressing over it for the past few weeks. Deep breath....

Drove to campus Mon to Thurs last week. Into the office this AM for 90 minutes, and all the work is done. I have to go back to campus, which means another 700 miles this week.

Yup, snowed out here. One time, they added 10 minutes on to each school day to make up some education time. I hope they will consider that again. But, since my tax $ is already being paid for babysitting, er um, education, then I guess they can provide summer child care as well.

Nice genealogy tracking.

Morning guys.

A cold has me under the weather this morning.

Fishing in the rain all day on Saturday probably had something to do with it, which is probably the reason DW has absolutely no sympathy whatsover...:lmao:

Supposed to be 71 here today...:beach:

Good morning guys. Have a crazy work week so hope all have a good week and will check in when I can..................

I anyone else noticing the boards being very slow lately, or is it just me?
Had issues all weekend with loading on iPad & iPhone :confused3

Good Morning Men! Monday again. This time next week, I'll be over the Atlantic on the way to sun and relaxation.

Good weekend for basketball. DD won 19-15 to secure our #3 slot going into the playoffs in a few weeks. It was a tough game offensively, but DD's 4 points late were the difference.

DS's team played the #1 team in the league on Saturday. We ended up losing by 1, but played a really good game. We had a 1 point lead until 7 second left when we gave up a rebound tip in. All we needed was one timely rebound. DS score line: 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists. Second game was on Sunday. Played a team leading the division above us. DS took over the second half with great D and dominated on offense, a triple double. Stat line: 24 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 blocks. Not bad for 13 years old. Hit 4 three's. We beat them by 9 points and they were very unhappy!:thumbsup2

Woo Hoo.... taxes are done. :dancer:

I have been using http://www.taxact.com/ for several years now, makes it easy. Like the Donation Assistant they have.

Maybe I should up my WDW budget now! :scratchin
- just may have to do that Fishing Excursion after all!

Still waiting for a few documents. Hope to have them done but he end of February, but not looking good. The fishing trip is excellent. DS and I did it a few years ago. Caught a bunch of fish and then a lot of BIG ones right at the dock when we were finishing up. It was a lot of fun and a good change of pace.

Peanut Butter and Beverly. Rubber Ducky grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sorry to hear that a parent is being a PIA. Believe me, it happens everywhere. I would just let it go and try to keep DD away from the other kid. Nothing to be gained arguing with ignorance.

Good morning!

I anyone else noticing the boards being very slow lately, or is it just me?
::yes:: I haven't had time to log in since about last Thursday... and I'm only 5 pages behind. That is actually kind of scary. :rotfl2:

David, good luck with the work issues. :thumbsup2

Monday morning ownage.

But Randall, it's animal cruelty to put a bag on a dogs' head and set it on fire!

Oh wait....

I see what you did there..... ;)

:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl:

Well, yeah. I see your point.

The good news is that DW and I started talking today about our next trip to either Discovery Cove, Disney Cruise Line, or somewhere else for DD 18's graduation.

Oooh! Discovery Cove was fun. We went last August and it really is a good day. Thought it was expensive before we went, but with the free access to Sea World and everything you get, it was really worth every penny.

Good luck deciding. Thinking of an October birthday trip for DD since she will be in 6th grade and we decided not to take her out after that. That would mean two trips this year if I can fit it in.:cool1::cool1:

Morning guys.

Good Morning David.:wave2:

Morning...another early shift, have a major job I need to get done in one shift, been a bit stressing over it for the past few weeks. Deep breath....

Hey Brent.:wave2: Hope the day goes well and you get everything done.

Posted earlier, but it looks like I may take a Daddy/DD trip in October for DD birthday since it is the last time I can pull her out. Also still looking at maybe taking her on the long weekend for the marathon. That would make 3 trips in 6 months.:thumbsup2 If I invite Amelia, then you would have to come in Ocotber with us, right?:confused3

Good Morning Randall. How's the hip and rehab coming?

DD home with a fever today. Yes, we are the parents that actually keep them home when they are sick to keep it from spreading.

I arrived in Salem in 1969. We looked into ours a few years back and both sides of the family actually came over and originally settles in Canada. Then migrated to the US. DW family is actually a small part of a Canadian Indian tribe. Unfortunately no casino there so no share of the profits.

I anyone else noticing the boards being very slow lately, or is it just me?

Morning Barry. Yup, noticed about mid week last week.

I've done several times and LOVED it every time....If you decide to do it, call and book Eddie from New Jersey. Best guide out there. Ask to fish the Epcot Lake, I liked it a better. It's now a tradition with me and my DS.

But to actually yell at someone else's kid? That' way over the line.

I've had this happen at my DS's soccer matches. He's the size of a 7 year old, and has been playing with me since he could walk (in other words, he can be a little rough, and he's very very good (actually scary good---waaaay beyond where I'd expect a 6 year old to be and I've been coaching well over 20 years).....and of course they won't let him play up a year (where he really should be).

For his age group, coaches (me) are on the field with the kids, and a lady yelled something derogatory at him, which caused me to go off on her (luckily G didn't hear it---more luckily for her, my wife didn't hear it:lmao:).

Of course she went to the league administrator (who I've been coaching with for a decade) and filed an official complaint. Of course, she left out what she did--and that according to not only my parents, but some of hers, she had been running her trap the whole game.

It was shut down, but she persisted and took it all the way to the Commanding Officer (Base League). The CO took the complaint and told his Secretary..."Mike Lake....as in Mike Lake the NCIS supervisor?? Get that woman out of my office" and backed me up:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

The next Saturday, she and her husband intentionally walked through my warm ups and kicked a ball away from my players...unfortunately for him, I was standing there talking to his Master Chief (who is a friend of mine) when they did it....the Public A$$ Chewing right then and there was so spectacular, and so demonstrative that everybody out there on the field stopped to watch. My players (being 5 year olds) were like..."ooooo Coach, that man is in trouble":lmao::lmao::lmao:

It looked like a long walk back to the parking lot for him and his wife as the Master Chief unloaded on her too. Nothing like Kharma, and I have never seen them again:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

And the 71 degrees is why you'll get no sympathy here either.

Yeah, I know....

Ya, but did you catch any fish?

Sure did...won the Club Classic for the year.

Why they decided to have it on the Saint John's River is beyond me.

They didn't stand a chance because none of them fish it, and I fish it all the time...:confused3:thumbsup2:cool1::rotfl2:
