Here it is changing between snow, ice pellets and freezing rain.

Everyone stay safe up there especially if you are traveling over Christmas. I know you are going to throw snowballs at me but it is expected to reach 85 today. This is the one week out of the year that I hope for colder weather. Tougher to get into the Christmas mood. Really miss living in NYC Thanksgiving to New Year.

Have a great day everyone and again, stay safe.

63 F with 94% humidity.

Today is the first big test, it's the Visitations today. Now not so sure about attendance, we just got hit with an ice storm overnight things are horrible all over. Sounds like Brian has no power, my half-brother Scott's neighbor's tree fell and took out his brand new deck.

All you dads, stay safe!! Ugly, ugly weather, I don't like this one bit, it's dangerous, especially with all the travel involved for the holidays.

Last but of fun is my right hand, really stiffened up and pain. I guess going gloveless in the storm wasn't a smart thing to do last night. Arthritis is reaaly bad. Yikes the pain!

Will me some strength today guys...

Sending prayers and strength to you and your family.

You stay inside, if it's like here, everything's ice here

I think there was an interview with Bear Grylls, from the Man vs Wild show, and he said that he could not demonstrate survivor skills in Canada because of all the ice and penguins. :confused3: :lmao:

The life of CJ? You wonder where we get that from. I'm hoping for a lot of snow so we don't have to visit the in-laws. Guaranteed there will not be any.

BTW, school calendar confirmed for my October dates. Looking forward to those beers.

Stay strong and be safe. You and family will be in my thoughts today

DS and DD have been back under the same roof for less than 24 hours and are all ready banished to their respective bedrooms. Fa-la-la-la-la. At least I get to go back to work in a week.

One of the reason we have only one.

Intermission. Power was going when we got there but popped off mid way through. At least the skylight let light in. No telling how tonight will go but I might be thinking : dark.

Ice everywhere it's nuts. They've pretty much all but declared it an emergency situation. Water main in front of our place broke. Afternoon viewing had a very nice turn out. The honour guard was a very nice touch

Glad to hear that you were still able to have the visitation Brent.

On the weather note, have they called the army in yet? :lmao:

Just throw in a how much did you spend on Christmas budget discussion with you DW, and then you have my life.

I feel your pain, I accidentally had 2

Kudos to you for having two children? TMI. Not that there is anything wrong with that. :crazy2: :lmao:

I am not qualified to care for myself, much less my two dds.

Evening guys....been a long day, but tomorrow will likely be longer.

Was glad about the turnout, especially in the afternoon, despite the situation. A pretty nasty ice storm hit overnight, downing power lines, trees, bursting water mains etc. There are a lot of people without power for the next few days, and prayers for a speedy recovery, incuding Brian. I know a lot of people missed comming out, including a lot of Dad's long time friends, but safety comes first. A lot of firefighters there, and neighbors, and different circles of friends. Even those ho didn't really know him came out, various co-workers of mine and my sister for example. Some very nice floral arrangments too. Say what you want about Walmart, but my sister in law has only worked for them less then two months, they still sent a small arrangement of flowers.

The highlight though was seeing the FireFighters Honour Guard at work. Two would march in and take position on either side and stand at attention for 10 minutes, untill a new pairing came in and relieved them. All done very ceremonial. This went on the whole night till the end when they all took position and presented themselves with a salute to their fallen brother. Dad had his full uniform on too. Very special to see, it definitely caught everyone's attention.

Power went out around 3 halfway through the first vewing, but we kept going. I had brough a set of ipod speakers and hooked my phone to it, to keep playing Dad's Elvis Gospel music he loved and wanted playing. Wish I turned off the ringer though, as someone called and Elvis singing Amazing Grace turned into Donald Duck singing Deck The Halls. :rotfl2: There were skylights, so lots of natural light. Not so at night though, they set up real and fake candles everywhere, and my phone and speakers kept music going. Quieter crowd wise, but far more intimate.

it was a crazy night. Power outages, a fire broke out next door, the storm and ice everywhere....Certainly will never forget this. :upsidedow

Going to sit up for a while and reflect. Pop open some stong beer, and watch A Christmas Carol. And avoid helping DW wrap gifts. Funeral tomorrow, going to be the hardest.
