Howdy fellow dads! Hope everyone is having a great weekend, finally starting to understand the fastpass+ and magicbands , decided to link our reservation to MDE and saw where DD and I can pick our band colors and that they will be mailed to us. We have not purchased tickets yet, prob will when MNSSHP tickets go on sale, and see where we can pick fastpass+ once we do get tickets, alittle bummed that they will not be available during party's but honestly expected that always. Even though the trip is 6 months away I am getting really excited about going back to the World even if it is for a short trip!

Not sure how the FP+ works with special event tickets. Last year, I didn't link them to MDE because I was afraid they would get lost in IT-land. Somehow, we each had ghosts or twins, and it took me two calls to Disney IT to get it cleared up. As if the world needed another me. Plus, you still have to wear the MNSSHP bracelet. I'm guessing the MB will cover FP+ rides up until 7:00 PM and then maybe turned off for the party?

With the regular park tickets, I booked the room, booked & linked the ADRs, the MB were delivered, bought and linked the tickets, and then set FP+. It is cool to see it all on MDE.

Theme park hours are posted on Disney's website up to October 6. From what I can tell, MK closes at 7:00 PM Friday (3) and Sunday (5), which would mean MNSSHPs those nights. MK is open until Midnight on Mon (6). I was really hoping for a MNSSHP on Monday, so that throws my touring plans off a bit. Time to re-plan.

Kids decided to go out with a bang at the quiz. :confused3 On to the regionals.

I see we are nearing the finish. Somebody better wake up Randall so he can get another thread ready.

This is actually an area where FP+ could help. FP+ Should be available until 7 pm on party days. This is an area where FP+ could actually excel. You might be able to pick some FPs during that window after the you are allowed in the park but before the park closes.

I don't know if the MNSSHP party ticket will enable you to get FP+s though. If you have a regular ticket that covers that day you should be able to get them there. The only issue would be that you wouldn't be able to use FP at whatever park you go to that morning.

Congrats to the Kids. Our kids have their Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament this weekend. If they place they'll be going to the World Finals. Nothing like spending the $ for a short disney trip to go to Ames Iowa.

I see how it def helps with planning, I saw where touring plans also helps with which ride and when is best to use FP+. The plan is do a park all day prior to MNSSHP so we are only doing one day of parks and then Saturday with the 5k and 10 miler is a relax day so can't do a meetup at a park.

Also have been reading up about pre race meals and it says no alcohol 48 hours before and nothing new to eat the day of, if plans go right I'll prob have to break both of those, if I can score an ADR at BoG, gotta have a beer and I've never had Tonga Toast but that is prob going to be my breakfast.

The plan is prob Epcot or HS during the day and MNSSHP at night so FP+ wouldn't help, prob the only reason we will switch all day at MK is if the mine train isn't open during the party but prob have plenty of time to ride it pre party.

When we checked in last year, they said we had two rooms booked. It was fixed, but I asked if we get reimbursed for it (they said no):rotfl2:

Thanks and best wishes in the tournament! I like Ames and worked there for three years. One of the few places outside of Akershus where you can get pickled herring on the buffet. No princesses though. :rotfl:

We didn't have two rooms booked, but we had double tickets. I asked if I could make them no expiration for the next trip and they said no. I'm sure they have had training on keeping their sense of humor about it.

Afternoon guys,

Spent last night in my hometown celebrating my parent's 50th anniversary. It was a nice night but the crowd was a bit on the old side. :lmao:

Terrible drive back today in slush and freezing rain, added about an hour to the trip. Now I'm catching up while flipping between UConn?Michagan State, Indy Car and the Sprint Cup race.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Did the MDA walk this morning then went to have lunch with some friends.

Came home to find 1 1/2 of snow on the roads and yards, wasn't in the forecast at all.

But we home safe and warm and am enjoying a nice cold bottle of Fat Squirrel! Thanks Barry! :thumbsup2

Hidey ho, good neighbors. Throwing my name out there to be added to the master list (real name: Dan). Rookie poster still, but I'm sure I'll start racking up posts in no time.

We've got a large family outing planned for WDW in July and I've had the itch since booking two weeks ago. Still deciding if there's an appropriate manly way to decorate my MB. Time will tell.

In short, hi all!

250 page closing ownage.

Welcome. Dues are payable in Dole Whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail them all to me, and I will distribute them. :lmao:

Randall will be around to get you a number. In the meanwhile, just jump on in and post away. Also, don't get to attached to this thread. Now that it reached the 250 mark, there will be a mad dash of posts to close it.
