And now these pillars of reason are in charge of your health care. We can't even get a straight answer about what our actual work status is supposed to be. Beware the enemy from within.

It's frightening how irresponsible our government is. But it also falls on the uneducated voters who either don't vote or vote based on a month of commercials. We keep these fools in office. We need less politicians and more genuine people that actually care about our country.

Evening dads. Welcome to new dads. Prayers and thoughts to those facing tough issues. And let's add a few prayers for those whom we don't know but probably need our dad power too. Cheers

Norm and Nemie- have good trips.

Nemie- surprise me in my mailbox but if you could send me some maps that's always a fun reminder for us

I'm about 10 days out from arriving at WDW. Every time we get close, I feel the need to get my medical "to-do list" checked off.
lab work tomorrow a.m.
Friday is ophthalmologist and chiropractor
Monday endocrinologist (who happens to have his new office about 2 minutes away from a mall with a Disney Store!)
Then the Prescription refills...insulin vials, test strips, etc.
As a Type I diabetic, I always have to make sure I over pack medical supplies and then get treated like a terrorist by TSA.

Aside from that, I'm getting super anxious and excited for the F&W Festival and the MNSSHP.

Wow, thats pretty thorough. I get OCD about the family getting sick, as I don't usually get ill. I try to make sure we aren't going to any birthday party/public playground things a week away from the trip. Last year my son had been puking the day before our cruise and the lady at the cruise check-in desk asked if anyone had been feeling ill. I thought we were making small talk and told her about my son, :crazy2:

Luckily she asked me again with a new statement letting me know people that were sick wouldn't be allowed on the boat, :upsidedow

Replying to my own post!

In case people don't know, but you can actually have a doctor come out to the resort if you need anything. Its kinda cool, they have the little doctor case with all their little tools/meds in it etc. I had a spider bite on my knee 3 years ago, and it got BAD, ie necrosis the size of a dime, and I had to get some antibiotics and pain meds, gauze wrap, etc. I called the front desk, they set it up and the Dr came to the room and hooked me up, ended up costing $50 for the visit and $90 bucks for the meds supplies. All of which I would have spent and more to rent a car/taxi to go to a Dr/ER.

They also have pharmacy delivery services to the resort too.....man, my family seems to have a theme going here...:rotfl2:

brettcw23 => 12-19 Boardwalk Villas
Twin Dad => 14 - 26 - Coronodo Springs
that's nice => 17 - 22 POFQ

While I cannot commit to any formal meet and greets w\ other DISDads, is there a general protocol? If possible, I wouldn't mind getting a photo with my DISDad bretheran.:wave2:
We recently changed our dates to 10/30-11/5 so I won't be able to meet up with you, but I know a few other Dads will be there during our trip.

Bear of a storm coming through, 5-10 inches of rain projected. Not worried about the house but the yard is as flooded as I have seen in a while. I was going to the grocery store but will forget about it for now.
I have a boat that I won't be using for months. Feel free to come and take it for a while.

A time out to vent. Saw this on Facebook, so it is probably as true as an Abraham Lincoln quote found there.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Fiscal Cliff in Perspective

Tax Revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
Fed Budget: $3,820,000,000,000
New Debt: $1,650,000,000,000
National Debt: $14,271,000,000,000
Recent Budget Cuts: $38,500,000,000

Let's remove 8 zeros and pretend it is a household budget.

Annual Income: $21,700
Money spent: $38,200
New debt on credit card: $16,500
Outstanding balance on credit card: $142,710
Recent budget cuts: $38.50
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming these numbers are true, to fix this mess in 5 years, the income would need to be tripled and the money spent cut in half. For those of us who prepare household budgets, that would be extra jobs for both parents, beans and rice, and no Disney trips for 5 years. While the DisDads would make these sacrifices for our families, I fear for the worse with this current situation. Prayers for our country.

And now, back to my off topic posts.
OUCH! :headache:

Hey everyone. My name is Josh. I am a Dis Dad living in Hawaii in body but WDW in spirit. I have three kids: 2 girls and a boy. I've been married for 6 years.

My wife and I went to WDW for the first time in 2006 and we all just got back from our second trip two weeks ago. We are already planning our next trip for when I transfer to Tampa next spring/summer. We are looking at going some time in May or June, just because of the timing. Hopefully we can swing APs shortly after we get there and then can go whenever we want.

Anyway, aside from that I'm just like any red-blooded American male. I love sports, hockey and football being my favorites. I play hockey, yes, ice hockey in Hawaii...go figure. I love beer, scotch, bacon and, well, we all know the rest.

So, I look forward to joining this elite group of men with Ears of Steel. The Few, the Proud, the Dis Dads!

P.S. today is Hump Day. Woot Woot!
:welcome: Josh! Jump right in and get your feet wet. Just watch out for Randall. He is a sneaky one.

Top of the morning guys :coffee:

Norm, have a safe drive and a great trip. Say hi to the other duck for me!

Good to know on multiple fronts. Yeah, I'm paranoid about everyone being healthy for our trips. And the Fall always makes it interesting due to allergies. I've been trying to get to bed a bit earlier in hopes to ward off any bugs! Getting all the Doc visits and Prescriptions is more of proactive effort, too. I figure if I'm due, I might as well do it before we leave rather than after!

Morning gang,

Hey everyone. My name is Josh. I am a Dis Dad living in Hawaii in body but WDW in spirit. I have three kids: 2 girls and a boy. I've been married for 6 years...

Welcome. I was in your beautiful state for two weeks last summer. Stayed at Kona and Ko olina.

Maybe you should turn the trailer park into a lake with houseboats.

Get out the gear. You can get in some diving practice. Stay safe.

I have a boat that I won't be using for months. Feel free to come and take it for a while.

Sun is beginning to peek out from the clouds. Estimates are that 9 inches fell last night, so the trailer would have floated away. I have a bunch of stuff to do today and one of the main roads I need to use is closed because of standing water. Hopefully it will open up later.

Good luck with all of that and be careful. That seems like a whole lot of rain that you guys got! IN Western PA, we have nothing but rock and crappy soil so the drainage is a bit slow. I'd imagine in your neck of the woods it's a good bit quicker.

We’re glad to have you join us. I have a nephew serving with the Corps out your way. Nice duty station, but then again Tampa is closer to one very nice diversion. Thanks for your service and feel free to just dive on in.

:lmao:

and just what other forums are you visiting?

Plausible Deniability…
It’s best we don’t know

That’s a service I was unaware of.
Will have to keep that in mind when and if I get back down that’a way.

I got some news yesterday and had a pretty sleepless night last night. I can't really share any details, but we found out some news that will affect part of our farming operation. Some prayers would be appreciated because some tough decisions need to be made.

Welcome to the club!

We were all going to move to Miami and park campers at CJ's place.

How big is your yard? :rolleyes1

I've seen several variations of that over the past few years. I don't know how exact the numbers are, but the concept is pretty solid. Paints a depressing picture.

Oh, and I prefer the off topic posts.:dance3:
::yes::

I know. We complain and complain and yet the same ones we complain about keep getting put back in power.

Just goes to show that "money talks." :headache:

Morning... I see as I turned off the game the Leafs realized it was safe to play again.

For MNSSHP...which parade do you guys prefer...the earlier one or later? And what's your best spot for the parade? I'm actually excited for the Headless Horseman's ride through the Park!

I found both crowded, but generally better for the second one. I like Frontierland for viewing but Liberty Square has a better "atmosphere"

Add to this one party that doesn't realize you need to be able to borrow now to pay bills already incurred, and the other party that doesn't realize we need to figure out a way to pay for all this stuff somehow in the future and...sigh.

Sun is beginning to peek out from the clouds. Estimates are that 9 inches fell last night, so the trailer would have floated away. I have a bunch of stuff to do today and one of the main roads I need to use is closed because of standing water. Hopefully it will open up later.

I'm sure somebody is blaming the road closure on the DOT already.:sad2:

Morning Guys, beautiful Thursday morning here.

Brent and Brian, has the bandwagon jumpers came out yet? 2 and 0, if people hold true the parade will be planned with 1 more win. :lmao:

I'm with Brent. Best view was in that strip in Liberty Square as the space is smaller. Great view if gravediggers there as well. We usually go with Frontierland where LTT is. There is a wall to sit in across from LTT & some chairs on the sidewalk next to it.

Norm and Nemie- have good trips.
