‘Morning all…
Thought about doing a bit of complaining, but honestly… my troubles are minor compared to some.
I believe instead I’ll just see what I can do for everyone else today.
That’ll keep me busy enough not to worry about such.

Jello consumed and life is beginning to return. Hoping any Dads on the way to world avoid this bug. It only lasts about 24 hours but it is a looonngg 24.

At least you’re discussing it in the past tense.
Heal quickly sir.

Thanks, everyone, for the well-wishes.

A little update on our December trip to the States:

It's coming along little by little. I booked a rental car last night. Thrifty's Wild Card (hoping for a larger vehicle, such as a minivan) for three weeks at an estimated total of $1250 (that includes the rental fee for two car seats). Booked a hotel in Schaumburg for 11 nights for about $800 (before taxes). Not too worried about getting a motel in my hometown. Just have to find a good buyer's agent down near Chicago. Don't know a thing about buying a house, and I'm afraid about getting screwed.

On the job front, I applied for two positions at Rotary International over the weekend. Really hoping to hear back from them, but don't want to get my hopes up too much. Also planning on applying to a few office positions at some universities over the next week or two. It's really difficult to find a job when you don't know where you're going to live, and don't know when you're going to start living there...especially when moving across an ocean.

I'll be leaving this company three weeks from today. Don't have anything lined up here in Korea aside from teaching a few private classes and working a few classes for my current company. Going to make things pretty interesting, money-wise. On the plus side, I'll have a lot more time to help my wife with the kids, and get some things organized/ready for our trip (such as putting together two photo albums for the boys' first birthday, which is a huge deal in Korea).

That’s a lot of uncertainty and a lot of taking things on faith.
We’ve all got you in mind over here and I believe you’ll land on your feet.

We’re also looking to change residences (but obviously not moving the distance you’re planning).
A good buyer’s agent will certainly be key in finding a new home. Good luck, thoughts and prayers to you.

Oh, and congrats on the upcoming 1st Birthday for your young’ens

We got some good news yesterday. Our agency confirmed that we can send small photo albums to our kiddos in Poland :cool1: this will be the first time they learn that someone wants to adopt them. We have thought of them everyday since we committed to them early this year, it chokes me up thinking that they will soon know they have a forever family coming for them soon.

Great news!
One more hurdle, a good number yet to go, but a race worth running.
Continued thoughts and prayers for all.

Congrats! What a great milestone for them!! Too bad you can't be there to see their reaction.

I know. I hope it makes the first time we meet them go a little smoother.

Sorry about your Reds. I was hoping Joey V. was going to get some time in the national spotlight.

Complain away if you want; we are here to listen and support. Sometimes it does good just to get it out, but you have the right attitude. I tell my kids stories about those living in The Philippines when they start complaining about how hard life is for them. Most of the people I worked with there didn't know what or if they were going to eat when they got up in the morning.

Morning guys. Been a busy couple of days so haven't been on much. Hope everyone's doing well.

It's my favorite time thus far, but I have only been Mar, April, May, June, Sept, & October.

The other months are overrated.:lmao::lmao: So it looks like you have never been for the Christmas decorations and party. I would suggest you go at least once around that time.

Hey Darcy....

Ummm.......NO! :rolleyes1

Sure, try to sandbag me. You are sounding like Bobby Bowden when he coached at FSU. "We are really worried about The Little Sisters of The Poor University. Their quarterback may be 5 foot 8 but he runs a 20 second 40 meter. And their 150 pound defensive end will bite your ankles off."

Yes, I will be there in January. Get off your butt and commit to going. I only wager for adult beverages unless the other person does not imbibe. Not a fan of Miami drinks that have little umbrellas in them and I have no idea what the beverage of choice is in NE. Personal beverage of choice.

Yea, a sucker bet on my part. Much like when I took the bet from Norm that Florida would beat Louisville in the Sugar Bowl.

We've all been trained to behave like Belicheck.:lmao::lmao: Every team is better than us, coaches need to do a better job, players need to do a better job, fans need to find a way to cheer louder. You know how it goes.

Adult beverages are completely acceptable and encouraged! We'll get it figured out. My choice for beer is Sam Adams Ocotberfest. I have to drink a lot of it between September 1 and Thanksgiving to make up for the 9 months it's not available.:thumbsup2 Otherwise we tend to mix it up based on the situation. WIne with dinner, cocktails after...you know how it is. Not sure what the "official"drinks would be.

I wish it were that easy to just up and go. I am still waiting for schedules to be completed here and with the kids.:headache::mad: I have to be in FL for a conference, no choice and there are a few events that I need to be at with relation to the kids in January. I have been trying to get them to make a decision, but so far still waiting. I think at this point they have blocked my number from their phones. :goodvibes With just me going it's easy to get it booked any time so hopefully I'll get an answer soon.

Kowalski?

:lmao::lmao: I was thinking he meant Stanley, North Carolina.

Thanks for the offer to open guys!! i should probably take you up on it and we can have a DisDads week, where a new Dad opens and offers a different special everyday!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We are actually feeling a little guilty about closing because it is a pretty busy time, but we really wanted to go during this time period so we are taking the plunge. Hopefully, soon I can keep it open with some of my new hires, but i still need to train them and create an atmosphere where I can step away a few days and the quality doesn't suffer.

now that would be awesome!!:yay:

I have a great duck recipe and make a killer lasagna. When is my turn?:thumbsup2 Good luck and have fun.

Jello consumed and life is beginning to return. Hoping any Dads on the way to world avoid this bug. It only lasts about 24 hours but it is a looonngg 24.

Glad you are starting to get back to normal. Please feel free not to share this one.

Feel free to complain. That's why we're here. :thumbsup2

Good morning (or afternoon or evening)... just wanted to say hope all of you with family and job challenges see better times soon...

and as we slide off HUMP DAY toward the weekend you can at least enjoy a beer, some bacon, and some football* or rugby.

*either kind will do

My activities for the past few days:
I have rearranged and deep cleaned the house, closed the pool, built a new dinette for the Kitchen (4 chairs and a table that came in an amazingly small box!)

And for this weekend:
- I tow the freshman class float in the homecoming parade (trailers and trucks, very manly)
- I endure the 25th wedding anniversary party my wife has planned for months.
- I watch football Sunday which is greatly enhanced by my irrational decision to spend the money for DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket.

Suddenly, I realize I do not know if the party location allows beer. Uh oh.

Some good financial news on the tech side.

We are normally slow here over the summer and into September. It has been crazy to the point half of our customers are waiting for our production facility to catch up. After closing everything out yesterday afternoon I started the revenue/sales analysis and we are up 40% over last years first quarter.:cool1: October is already booked over projection so it should keep going at least for a little while. We could have done better, but just don't have the capacity to build any faster. The good news is we are kicking butt, the bad news is no time to take days off for a while until we get everything caught up.

Even better news is that if we can keep it going, we'll see some good Christmas bonuses this year.:cool1::cool1:

Congrats on business being on the upside !

Received word that my BIL has finally passed away. Looks like services are this Saturday in Ohio. Will probably wait to travel until Friday morning considering all we have going on here locally. Going to be a long weekend for our family. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts this week.

Thanks, guys. Please especially keep Emma in your thoughts. This will be her first funeral experience. She's a strong kid, but I'm not sure how she is going to take all this in.

got a phone call Tuesday afternoon from B. when she got into work, they told her she was being "deployed" (disneys words, not mine. figure I would save the thread three pages on my choice of words)

she was happier then a pig in poop. :rotfl: she got depoyed once before and was a character assistant for the ferries.

they sent her back to costuming for some new threads. she had a ball!!!!
the people said she did a great job.

can you figure out where she was sent? she posted on her face book that she always wanted to work in this place.
