Have a safe trip down. And if you come back to the restaurant and the turbo chicken fryer is broken, it is Jim's fault.

Morning guys :wave2:

Morning Duck and everyone else. Nothing going on today for me except college football. The remote is acting up so there may be a few curse words you hear coming from down south. Florida faces an undefeated Missouri team at their place. The offense needs to do something this week or it is going to be a long game and rest of the season. Injuries have decimated them this year.

Morning Guys.

It's Saturday, you know what that means. Yup.....yard work.

Rock Hill? Really? Well then that would be me… We live just a couple exits north of there.
About what time do you think you’ll be getting in and what kind of dinner did you have in mind?
I suspect that your hotel is on Dave Lyle Blvd (Exit 79) so I’ll rattle off a few of the places that we frequent by exit number starting at the SC state line

Exit 90 (Carowinds Blvd): Mostly chain restaurants including a "Culver's” of all the odd things to find in SC (get the cheese curds).

Exit 88 (Gold Hill Rd / SC-460): There is an excellent South’rn style “Fish Camp” here called “Captaiin Steve’s”. Very good (especially the baby shrimp, salt-n-pepper catfish and perch filets). Mostly fried (I did say it was south’rn), but there are other items on the menu as well).

Exit 85 (SC-160 / this is the road we live off of). Again there is a lot of fast food, but there is a local Pizza/Sports bar called “Empire Pizza” that just opened its third location here that is quite good. There is a great Cuban restaurant called “Carlos Café” a couple miles west of the exit (one of our favorite meals anywhere… seriously). Right near that place is a spot called Danny’s Pizza & Pasta that is also quite good. Hands down, the best Mexican in the area (Los Aztica) is couple miles to the east of the exit and just down the road from my house (and probably where I’ll be having dinner tonight).

Now you get into Rock Hill - - -

Exit 82C & 82B (Celenese Rd / SC-161): Several Chain Restaurants (think: Outback), but more importantly there is also a “Krispy Kreme Doughnuts” right here.

Exit 82A (Cherry Rd / US-21): Again, a whole lot of fast food, but the spot we like here is called “Luigi and Sons”. It’s run by a family from Long Island, and we love the food here, but I’d go early as from time to time the service “can” be a might slow during the dinner hours.

Exit 79 (Dave Lyle Blvd / SC-122), a lot of chain restaurants here as well from “Olive Garden” to “Cracker Barrel”. When we’re down that far we either go to “5 Guys” for a rather good sloppy burger or to “Buffalo Wild Wings” for some pub-grub.

If any of this sounds good or if you have something else in mind let me know and I’ll hunt down some more ideas or get you specific directions and menus if possible.

We need this post saved on the first page... incase any other Dads decide to drive down that way.

RANDALL!!!!!!

Still sounds like a pretty damn good day, beats mine.

We look like rain here. Staff are calling in sick in droves and its looking to be a rough day here. Came in to see no work done last night.

On the plus side, I think we will hit Mandarin tonight for dinner, celebrate DW and my 13th a couple of days early.

Well, my #8 UL cards lost so the season is over for them. I knew it was as outside chance, but I would have liked to see than have a chance for that final BCS Championship.

It is rainy & cold here. We have soccer after noon.

OK, I know I haven't been around much the past couple years for various reasons. However, I now have a couple things to post that I never thought I would have the opportunity to do.
First, I'm retiring on January 2nd! :cool1:
Secondly, we actually have a short trip to WDW planned with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids for the first week of March! :cool1:
Due to my DW's problems with neuropathy, and the cold/damp weather of PA triggering a lot of discomfort, we're heading to Perdido Key, FL, for 3 months beginning January 1. (My last work day is really Dec. 20th.) Our daughter's in-laws are springing for a trip for them to the World the first week of March and we are planning to join them for a couple days. It may not really happen for a couple reasons but we do actually have ressies at ASMu!
I'm beginning to look forward to retiring now that I've submitted my letter at work; a lot of weight has been lifted from my shoulders since I officially made the decision. Now, we just have to get our money invested correctly.

Congratulations on both postings Mike! :thumbsup2

And the northern to central areas of South Carolina will typically have some of the better prices for gas along our route. :flower3:

I guess there is a lesson in all this to slow it down. In my rush a ended up toppling some stacks of beer on my cart all over the warehouse, got it all cleaned up, but what a freaking mess. At least I got the glass shards out if my hands.

We had rain yesterday and suppose to rain tomorrow but today is beautiful. And now all the patio furniture has been put away. I don't remember ever leaving it out this late before.

We too will be dining out tonight, place called Sam Snead's. Celebrating the 61st birthday of a friend and then going to see Captain Phillips.

It was a great game to watch. Much better than the god awful performance the Gator offense is showing right now. But it is warm and sunny here. Except for the storm cloud that is following me around right now.

Sounds like a good night out. Maybe if I get home in time I'll torture myself by watching the Leafs/Blackhawks.

My Saturday officially sucks. Gators lose UGLY. At least they have good company with S. Carolina and Georgia both losing. Time for a cocktail.

Glass shards scars would be cool if single & dating. Just hurt when you're married. Hope all is well.

Almost as bad as a venomous duck.

Oh well. I doubt they could ever win in the new +1 format, but good run. It is small consolation, but UL will settle for wins in Fiesta, Orange, & Sugar Bowl. We are still a college basketball state. By the way, see who was #1 preseason ranked?

But I still fear echidna's more. . .

A cold, but sunny day at the soccer field. Game time temp was 49 degrees. Team won 1-0, with youngest scoring only goal.
