Morning Guys,

Just catching up this morning before finishing up a proposal and attending a couple of afternoon meetings.

Have a good one!

I am really impressed with their playoff performance... I know I was joking earlier on, but I honestly didn't think they'd make it out of round 1...

Um...yeah...about that...

Don't worry, I can offer support. As a Philly sports fan, I have a lot of experience in soul-crushing losses.

What, would you prefer we return to discussing the number of Superbowls won by the Eagles?

See?

I prefer to discuss Jerry Jones' decision-making as a GM, anyway. :stir:

Of all the call signs, Zarf definitely raises the biggest question mark. Count on Mark to get that one. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

No boys, there's one "a" in Zarf. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

:rotfl:

The rest of the family got their Top Gun call signs last night. This went well:

DD: "Giant Killer"
DS1: "Drago"
DS2: "Bud"

and...

DW: "Weiner"

:scared1:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Morning guys, today is my Monday . :crazy2: DW's alarm flipped on with an "LCBO urges people to stock up"...nice wake up call. :rotfl2:

Audrey seems to be having some night issues again, up crying alot. Woke at one point to find bathroom light on, Audrey sitting on her bed asking to stay up at 4am. Got her back to bed, naturally, had to drag her out of bed to get ready for school. :rotfl2: Think tonight will be an early one for me...:faint:

Well, that sounds like it was pretty much the Worst. Night. Ever.

‘Morning all…

My it got busy in here last night, would one of y’all be so kind as to provide a synopsis?

My Canadian is a bit rusty but it appears that their leaves were going on strike because of alcohol shortages.

Thanks Mike!
That ‘splaines it.

I just read a few pages back, best wishes brent, hope everything works out on the job front.
happy birthday rob!!
happy birthday also to the twins david!!!

Thanks Zerf,

Did I see that you’re planning to be down at WDW around Farther’s Day?
If I got that right, we should try to put together a meet at some point.

Zarf and Weiner…

Ya’ know, those are the kind of bad nicknames that can stick with a person.

wow never thought it would be so hard to get Mickeys back yard BBQ. Never did this and was thinking of doing it in Aug but cant get a table. Who would hae thought:confused3

Home from soccer. A loss today and worse, dd did not play well. I stepped out from coaching her this year to see if she liked it or was just playing because I wanted her to. She is not happy with me not coaching her. The coach this year has not rotated the players like I do, and she isn't happy. But, she needs to learn to play other styles than mine. We have had the select team debate for the past several weeks, and I just do not think she is ready. She has some of the best foot skills in the Rec league, but she has no speed. Also, her aggressiveness is just average at best. Sometimes, I think I am holding her back. Other times, I think she is just 8 years old and her whole life doesn't need to revolve around soccer.

I'd love to collect from you. Hopefully sooner than later.

Remember, I have the BIL who made his mother take $20K from her retirement account to pay off his and his wife's repo-ed cars. I see that greed and selfishness way too close.

Hey Norm:wave2: Funny thing is we are having the same discussion about soccer. DD has to decide if she is playing in the fall. Has really started to improve this year. She said she wants to play. I told her I am not going to coach.......her answer......well forget it, I want to stay with you. :goodvibes Still up in the air. She has a week to make a final decision. I'm guessing we'll drop soccer and stick with field hockey for the fall. Good luck.

I am lucky on the in law front. While there are stress points, selfishness and causing trouble are not any of them. Good luck to you and Brent!

I won't be able to coach my kids for soccer since I will still be working. Now that I'm getting closer to the start I'm kind of wishing I could do it, even though I don't want to deal with other parents.

We can't even get thru summer without talking fall sports. We have a little more time to make that decision.

FFing throw lots of RAW though.. :lmao:

If you smell what the Rock is cookin, candy @$$.

I was assigned to help out on another project yesterday that kept me very busy all day and half the night so I'm just getting a chance to catch up here.

Have a Disney Day my friends!

I was assigned a project a week ago over phone. Specifics were supposed to be emailed. Never received them. I plan on napping today.

Is she hearing about the strike from tv or school?

Depends on the kid I suppose. My DD just turned 9 and wouldn't be ready for that.

That's the thing. Foot skills - ready. Speed - not ready. Rise to competition/ challenge - ready. Emotionally (commitment/ recover) - way not ready. She gets her laziness honestly from me.

See?

I prefer to discuss Jerry Jones' decision-making as a GM, anyway. :stir:
".

But, at least Jerry bought himself 3 Superbowls before salary cap rules.

wow never thought it would be so hard to get Mickeys back yard BBQ. Never did this and was thinking of doing it in Aug but cant get a table. Who would hae thought:confused3

Never did this because of the picnic tables. Back to my laziness, but I need a chair back to hold me upright. Too much effort otherwise. Plus, I got the best BBQ here.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Still trying to get out from the pile of work I found on Monday. :(

Snow? Not here. High of 95 today.

Started 53 degrees this AM. Forecasted high of 82 later afternoon. :confused3

I don't worry about the other parents. I'm way out of shape, but still am out there teaching the players different foot skills. Parents have never complained to me (maybe to each other), but I guess they don't question the skills. :lmao: But, I also commit to rotating all players thru all positions and try to give them equal playing time over the season. We have two 25 minute halves, and I rotate the players (except keeper) every 8 minutes. No substitution limits. Over 2 games, playing time is mostly equal. It's not perfect because I have to wait for a stop in the play. Then, I just have to find the right player combination to compete.

Toronto is still speechless. :lmao:

No Darcy.... Turned in and went to bed after the game. Wasn't avoiding the ribbing, I've got thick skin, I can take it. :)

Morning guys. Sorry Brian and Brent about your Leafs.

The leafs motto since 1967.... There's always next year

Don't worry, I can offer support. As a Philly sports fan, I have a lot of experience in soul-crushing losses.

Thanks.... We are quite used to it here as well.... :rotfl2:

Cool, I'm dangerously unqualified!

So was the guy we cut today... ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Sounds like a match.

Unfortunately, we don't have a very good coach. I did a couple of his first practices to help him out and gave him some other drills he could use. He didn't. The two practices I couldn't make, he had my daughter run part of the practice and then just had them scrimmage the rest of the time. Then, we haven't had practice in three weeks. So, if we do rec league again, then I'll have to coach her. She is good enough to make the select team, but she is not guaranteed playing time and it involves traveling.

So, what is better? I coach her and she gets playing time against average & below average competition. Or, she plays against better competition, spend 4 hours minimum on game and travel time(some overnight), and she's not guaranteed playing time. The whole thing is that she will be 9 in June. Isn't it too early for a travel team?

Nope. We start travel here at 9. It is broken up between 1 select team and then as many regional teams you can field. The select travels further than the regionals. My suggestion is that is your DD would be top half of the select team, then go for it. If not, the playing time trumps the competition. Having more touches and being one of the better players will help her develop more than limited time on the field. Just my opinion. My DD played select at 9 and I pulled her back to regional this year. It really has helped her development. Of course now she may not play at all.:headache:

What a rough game... Anyone see that elbow Van Riemsdyk took to break his nose... And no penalty?? :confused3

It is hockey. And he deserves it!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm not the biggest union fan, personally. And every issue that seems to be on the forefront doesn't even affect me! Bleh

Yeah, there is something else that irks me. My co-worker IS a union rep and has been put up in hotels etc for confrences, went to a luncheon Sunday and out of no where had tix to game 6 :sad2: Don't want to accuse, he's a friend, and the only one I have at the store, BUT the timing is kinda odd.

There always seems to be a little extra on the reps plate, doesn't there? Hmmmmmm.:rolleyes1

:rotfl::rotfl:

Just catching up after a few days, but glad the Bruins gave Toronto some fun before sending them home.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Seriously, we need a new coach.

it seems when I log onto a site (this only happens to this one site I like to go on) my Norton goes nuts. a warning slides out from the lower right and states:
env.nocache (1) js is not safe and has been removed.

ok

I click on details and it says this: threat name = Trojan malscript and a bunch of into how Trojan can effect your system. length, threat level yada, yada yada.

i have no idea what this is or how to stop it. any ideas?????

It only happens when I log on. If I just view it I'm fine.

I know this sounds like a bogus answer.... (Most IT answers do - but I am not gonna suggest a reboot)

Try another browser... Maybe Chrome, or Firefox.

Although it sounds virusy, it may just be malware and cookies.

You should also try running SpyBot SEARCH AND DESTROY (a free malware removal tool).

Most parents are actually pretty good, but there are always a few here and there that can cause some stress. I have coached both of my kids in the sports I know. Mostly because it allows me to spend more time with them. If the time becomes available, even as an assistant, I recommend it.

We can't even get thru summer without talking fall sports. We have a little more time to make that decision.

Nope. Try outs for the fall seasons are starting next week. It always seemed wrong to have kids try out half way through spring for the following years squads. They grow and develop at such different speeds, it seems counterproductive to me that they need to be evaluated so early. I think we'll have DD try out so they have a way to place her and just not register until we can make a decision.
