Nothing much here. Finished my first four day week. I love my my job but grave yard is tough to get used to.

Hate that your girl was having such problems, but it’s good that things are settling down now.

DS got his first start today for his AAU baseball team. 7 inning complete game, 3K, 1BB, 4 hits, 1ER. First win of the season, winning 8-1. Team is now 1-16 so hoping this leads to more starts.

Yah, the Momma’s Day thing shows up about every six years depending on where he leap years land. But since it was a more important holiday, I was able to keep the rest of the family from humiliating me by having the wait-staff at the steakhouse sing their version of Happy Birthday. Not enduring that foolishness was actually a good present.

Dinner was good, nowrelaxing with a movie of DW's choosing....Wreck-It Ralph!

Home from soccer. A loss today and worse, dd did not play well. I stepped out from coaching her this year to see if she liked it or was just playing because I wanted her to. She is not happy with me not coaching her. The coach this year has not rotated the players like I do, and she isn't happy. But, she needs to learn to play other styles than mine. We have had the select team debate for the past several weeks, and I just do not think she is ready. She has some of the best foot skills in the Rec league, but she has no speed. Also, her aggressiveness is just average at best. Sometimes, I think I am holding her back. Other times, I think she is just 8 years old and her whole life doesn't need to revolve around soccer.

Its tough going from dad coach to regular coach. I am a coach at the YMCA and see alot of kids who aren't used to listening to another coach. It will get better for both of you if you have a decent coach. Once everyone gets use to who is in charge they will be fine.

That's a tough choice. She will only be 8 once and children seem to have to grow up so fast anymore. I am a supporter of kids experiencing losing. I don't like leagues where there is no score and everyone gets a trophy. Maybe having some challenges this year will cause her to want to get better/work harder.
