Woke up this morning and decided it just wasn't worth fighting the crazy traffic to get home from work. Going won't be a problem, but this afternoon will be a whole different story. So, decided to just work from home. I'll likely still get more work done even with the DW and DS in the house.

5am this morning I thought I was having a nightmare, my wife screams and seconds later comes running to the bedroom almost beating me yelling we have a mouse in the house:scared1:, it's 5am what do you expect me to do:confused3, I guess she thought I was Turtleman and was ready for live action:rotfl:, I got to the kitchen and she said it's under the oven, so I slammed a cabinet and it ran rite passed me, as she's screaming I say there he goes:lmao: She's yelling do something, so I tell her to get the guns, she said let's be real, I said exactly it's 5am what do you expect me to do, I told her I'll take care of it and went back to bed:confused3

After I dropped my son off at school, I went to Lowe's and picked up my supplies (cost less then $10) my weapon of choice is the glue traps, I set up 8 of them in various locations and went too work, sure enough I get a call from my wife when she got home and she put my son on to tell me the news, He starts off with Dad woo-woo-woo live action the mouse is caught, saying it was bad because it scared Mommy:lmao:, Next my wife gets on the phone telling me they have to leave the house until I get home to get rid of it:crazy2:, I made a phone call to my friend down the street to dispose of it:thumbsup2, when I got home it was all:love1::goodvibes

I'm leaving the glue traps out for a few days just in case it had some friends, there would be no rest tonight if it was still at large:eek:

Now that is just AWESOME! Great way to start my Friday off.

Hope everyone enjoys your day and weekend!

Awesome! That's so cool!

Is there still hockey going on? I thought it ended a week and a half ago... :rotfl2:

No, it ended well before that. :sad2:

She's yelling do something, so I tell her to get the guns, she said let's be real, I said exactly it's 5am what do you expect me to do, I told her I'll take care of it and went back to bed:confused3

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Funniest line of the week.

!

Excellent idea. Now, if you can just pull off a day or two a week like that - even better.

:thumbsup2 I wonder who will get the first picture?

I'll search in October. Just think, you'll have 700+ pairs of dad eyes on your daughter. Boyfriends beware. Is she ready for that?

Well, at least it is good to know you are still wanted at home. :lmao:

Good Job Ron! You should look for where the critter came in. Then plug it with steel wool. Mice leave a trail that other mice follow. The steel wool will stop them, because mice don't have palettes and will bleed out before they can crew though it. Now you know!

Happy Friday!

Firewalled. What is it?

Ready for the holiday. Beer and booze is chilling, dad is coming to town for the weekend. There is an 8 pound pork butt in brine in there getting ready to be smoked.

I guess I didn't tell you the entire story. paid $40k for the first house, sold it for $80 and paid $95k for this one in 1990. jumped up to $190k in value and has slid back to about $160k. its starting to come around again.
when be bought into dvc, a night at the cbr is what a point cost. so it may have seem cheap into todays standards but in 1999.
we have been very, very lucky. we both always had good jobs, live in a 1600 sq ft home, plenty for three people and never spent over our heads. stuck a lot of our money away.
the only place or thing we really did was go to Disney. which, in our old age, :lmao: with our investments and living the way we did for thirty years, we have some money stuck away. dvc was just another tool to save money on our trips. ok, people will argue, its not the cheapest way to go. no, it isn't. heck, I could sleep in a mini van in a rest stop on i4 and eat Cheetos for a week and just pay for park tickets if I really wanted cheep.:rotfl2: but the point of dvc is for the most part the points stay the same. they can add a point here or there but they have to take away from here or there. so, the one bedroom at okw in 1999 on December 1st is the same as it is dec 1st, 2039. round numbers, I paid $60 per point, today, you pay $140. ten years from now, $200,$250. your point is still worth $140.

Wasn't a criticism. Just noting that it really depends on where you live. I would have loved having the DVC, especially given that we stay moderate normally. The extra room would have been nice. I live in an area where the market never really fell to bottom and is coming back pretty well right now. I have 2 friends that are real estate agents. One is selling 2-3 homes a week and can't find enough property for his buying clients. I had a dumpster in my yard for a few weeks and people kept coming up and asking if I was selling the house because they wanted to buy it. Crazy.

We live within our means as well. House is about 2100 sq. ft for 4 of us. 2 used cars with 100K miles and we do spend a lot on sports and family activities, but well worth the expense to us.

The direct pricing is why we would most likely buy resale if we do buy into DVC. Most we saw were around $65-100 per point depending on the location. I would love to go to the food and wine every year once the kids are out of the house. We'll see how that goes.

:thumbsup2+1 Kind of brings a tear to your eye.:cool1:

I probably would have done better to take Spanish as we have migrant workers in my communities here from Mexico and other countries.

I was really happy getting that Boardwalk contract for $67 a point. I need to go see what we paid for the BLT points, but I think it was $120 per point. The DVC contracts, direct thru Disney, are just ridiculous. The VGF are $145 a point for DVC members, but I think they will go up to $160 per point for non-members in June. That is crazy.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Took Spanish, only remember the simple and the bad words. DS was promised that we would go to France summer of 2014 if he learned to speak it well enough. That means no Disney trip next year unless we can sneak over to Disney Paris.

We don't have that same problem here... down to 4 degrees celcius... aka a warm winter day!

I hear Dr. Doofenschmirtz is making a weather machine. You could steal it and make it warmer in Canada. Or I guess you could just move south. :rotfl2::rotfl2: To cold for me in May. Hope you get some warm weather soon.

Well done. :thumbsup2 We get field mice occasionally in the house. I just let DS loose. Always seems to catch them pretty quickly. He keeps them for a while and then lets them go outside in the woods.

Happy Friday guys!

:wave2: Long weekend.:cool1:

Nicely done Ron... :thumbsup2

I tried the glue traps at WDW, sure his foot stuck to it, but Mickey just bent down and pealed it off.

Can't seem to get the video working. Will keep trying. Thanks.

I can hum for you if you want. But I can't do it in French, so don't even ask.
