It's Friday night, and I feel all right.....said Montel Jordan.

Hope all is well. Dinner at the local Brewpub with some family friends then drinks at the house. Nice little Friday. Time to get the Little Man to hit the sack.

Bacon.

Today was youngest dd's birthday. DQ ice cream cake for the 9 year old - mint choc chip.

In lieu of a big party, she had a big gift list. So, we had pizza and cake at home with grandparents, opened cards, and present. Her first big ticket item.

Her second big ticket item.

I spent the afternoon putting them both together. It was a lot of work. A big party may be easier next time.
Sounds like a nice birthday celebration. Happy birthday to her!

Nice job on a Montel Jordan reference. Talk about something out of left field.

Long day, after work, headed to CAA, then to my parents, but they wern't home, so out for dinner, back to see my parents for an hour or so, then home. Got the kids all packed for a week away with DW's parents. :cool1: Inlaws are staying at a motel tomorrow night then everyone will go to church Sunday, then they all head to Sarnia leaving DW and myself. Next Sunday I start my first Staycation, and we'll head out and bring the girls home.

Some hard work this week paid off, my Saturday night shift got switched to a day shift.

Best news? Today we finished paying off our August Trip! :cool1::cool1::yay:

Congrats on paying of the trip Brent. :thumbsup2

Back from my first potluck wedding in the hollers. Fifteen minute wedding, just the way I like them. I took Spanish rice. The people seemed to prefer the fried catfish, deviled eggs and dumplings though. It wasn't the end of the earth but on the way there. They even have elk move through occasionally. If I didn't have a family it would be a nice place to go to get away from people but the older you get the more you appreciate being somewhere that has good access to medical care and a grocery store.

That sounds like some of the "eatin meetins" that we used to have to go to as kids in the hollars of WV where relatives lived. The only difference in yours today was that it was a wedding...the ones we went to were in cemetaries\!:rotfl2:

Elk..hmmm... that could do some damage to a vehicle.

Glad the wedding was short and sweet.

Any excuse for food or corn liquor in eastern KY.

The state thought they were doing a good thing reintroducing them and they do bring in some tourist/hunter dollars, but overall I think they wish they hadn't.

...Don't you have to get a specific license to hunt elk over there?

It is a lottery process that closes in the April. There are viewing areas around here though where at certain times of year you have a good chance of seeing a herd.

On our way to Bar Harbor, we stopped for dinner at an old friends house. Some of you old timers might still remember him,
