Thoughts and prayers to all affected by the tragic events in Boston. Hope all the DDs are safe and as previously stated hug the kids and family tonight guys

Thoughts and a lot of prayers to all involved in Boston....unbelievable..:sad2:

Starting to get fairly comfy at the new store, getting more and more duties to my portfolio, and getting to run hifts again too (although not on a regular basis) Still miss doing the beer section. Patience.

Don't want to toot my horn TOO much but......

wait for it...

DW more or less admitted she was wrong, I was right last night. I wanted to back in January book our trip early, and take advantage of a PIN we recieved, she wanted to wait. now it looks like no deal will come our way, paying more.:headache::sad2: It's bad circumstances, but I'll take a win vs DW any day. :rotfl2:

So, my refi is complete as of 2 weeks ago. Looking thru my bank account I see that my old company continues to deduct a portion of my mortgage, just like they always have. So, after several phone calls and some gnashing of teeth on my part, I had to fax a letter in writing requesting to be dropped so I can get my money back. >8|

Matt

How long has this been going on for? Hope it gets resolved quick...

Love hearing the brag posts about the kids. Well done dads. :thumbsup2

The kids have gone completely stir crazy. They are tired of being inside. Lots of rough housing and playing soccer in the house.

On a positive note my dad has told me to start picking up shifts next month. He'll watch the kiddos while I nap when I get home. Considering my dad would not come home from working 3rd shift until after my sister and I went to school I'd call this a major shift. It'll also help with bills and paying for our trip this fall. :cheer2:

‘Morning all…

Sobering morning.

Prayers for all effected by pain or sorrow
Respect and honor to all who respond so quickly
Support and patience to those now diligently investigating this tragedy

Morning guys. Still trying to process all of this. At this point I'm more angry than anything.

Glad my family and friends in the immediate area were all ok, but beyond sad for the families who have suffered injuries, or worse.

What a mess.

My heart is heavy over Boston. I am at many races every year either running or as a spectator cheering my mother. I feel if I was there watching it would have been very possible I would have been feet away from the blast. I have received word all my friends are ok including a dear classmate from Rt school and my orthopedic Surgeon.

I realy hope they find the person or persons that did this and hold them to a strictest sentencing they can.

My mind simply cannot capture nor understand the limits of evil this world. In just two days, my son will arrive into this world that is filled with hate, greed and all other kinds of evil. It is sobering to know that in the mist of all this, I will hold him soon and protect him from such as long as I possibly can. I am thankful for communities like this board, friends, family and my faith that allows me to know the despite all this "junk", there is still hope beyond this present life and that there is still some good in this world.

The clip from the widely popular show West Wing captures the true essence of yesterday’s events and America’s response to the tragedy.

Just saw on the news an explosion at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. You guys up there OK? Not sure if Paul was running it or not.

Family and friends OK so far. One friend was in the hospital for a few hours yesterday, but out last night. Funny how things work. For the last 8 years, I have gone to the Red Sox game with 9 other friends. After the game, we always walked down to Boylston Street and watch the runners finish. This year, a few of us had other commitments so we scratched the game and stayed home. Would have been in the area otherwise.

Paul, glad you and your family are OK.

Prayers to all of those effected and their families.

Michael (Fed) said it doesn't look like an accident.

A good friend is high up in the tobacco and firearms of MA State Police. There were 4 devices confirmed so far and they were still not sure if others elsewhere. The two that exploded and then 2 others that did not.

Hey Guys,

Terrible news about Boston, I can't imagine going through that. It was scary here for a bit as one of my colleagues was running and we hadn't heard from him. We have had reports later that all the runners from here were safe and accounted for.

On another, happier note DS made his premiership U12 soccer team today. That is the top level of travel soccer in the province. Pretty proud of my boy!

Congratulations to DS on the accomplishment.

Whew! I was starting to get worried there Darcy. :lmao:

Thanks. I don't think I am ready for select travel program yet. Sorry to hear about your dd's knee injury, but glad to hear she has her license and is coaching. Is that something she plans to do as a career? Maybe not just soccer coach, but something in athletics?

She wants to be a nurse and has been accepted to nursing program at UT Chat as incoming freshman which is a pretty big deal as the freshmen accepted is minimal - normally have to wait until sophmore year to apply. She likes coaching especially the younger kids as she does clinics with 5-7 year olds to introduce them to the game and may do the coaching thing on the side.

Awesome! Congrats on the early acceptance.
