Our Ukranian visitor from December has agreed to be adopted by a family in Minnesota. Not sure how I feel about that. I hope the best for her but I want to tell the family not to get their hopes up. After all, she said the same thing to us and that didn't go too well.

 Is she just getting free trips to USA out of this?? I'm sorry to hear about that... I'm shaking my head at this news.

Yeah, that is a little awkward. Sorry it didn't work out for you guys. I'm sure you're kind of torn between wishing her the best and wondering why them and not you. :confused3 Either way, for her sake, I hope it does work out this time around...

Again, sorry to hear she was not accepting of your offer.

Is it possible that maybe she likes to visit the U.S. and the attention, but maybe doesn't actually want to leave the Ukraine??:confused3 It would stink if another family had a similar experience.

Have you been looking for another adoption?

Only 26 more days!! :cool1:

146 days for us.:banana::banana: Yup, that a triple banana dance!

In case anyone was wondering... The camera down the throat was uneventful. Propofol was great but not the hallucinogenic I was hoping for. And there's nothing weird in my stomach. Doc says that's good news, but I took it as bad. Nothing weird in there means they don't know what's going on. New batch of pills to take- oh, goody. Not been posting lately as I'm nervous to be on the disboards after last week's virus. Don't want to make the IT people angry. You wouldn't like them when they're angry.

No virus reports from the other site (and no random ad servers, which reduces the possibility of such issues). Just sayin . . . :rolleyes1

Just realized I blew through my 4000th post a couple of posts ago. Where are the post milestone alert people when you need them :rotfl2:

I would have to say 90% of of my posts have been made here in the DIS Dads Club threads over the years. I'm too afraid to venture outside! :lmao: Honestly, this is one of the few places where I fit in enough to say what's on my mind. Looking forward to making more entries here in the club. Look! Squirrel! :squirrel:

Hello fellow Disney Dad's. I have been on these boards for more than 10 years (mainly DVC related) and finally found this location. I am an advid WDW fan. Spent many times there growing up in the 70's and early 80's. After having my first child in 2000, I convinced my wife to purchase into the DVC and have been going regulary since. We love it. I am the orchastrator/quarterback for planning our trips out. I already have the next two years mapped out. We have three children 12 yr old son, 10 yr old daughter and a 10 month old baby boy. Looking forward to spending time with you fellow Dad's in the future.

Welcome! I'll be waiting for the bacon and dole whips. :rotfl2:

Well, I guess they ruled something else out. Hope they can figure things out for you soon.

Lunch break in the madness...likely already done 7-8 grand in sales myself, and that was before the rush started... Bleh
That reminds me, I need to pick up some beer for the baseball draft and basketball viewing this evening.

 Is she just getting free trips to USA out of this?? I'm sorry to hear about that... I'm shaking my head at this news.
Very possible she's just enjoying vacations to USA. The other family hasn't even met her yet and she hasn't met them. Can't see how that's a better situation than ours. Not jealous, just intrigued. It's rare for a kid to get hosted twice and she's about to be hosted for the third time.
Yeah, that is a little awkward. Sorry it didn't work out for you guys. I'm sure you're kind of torn between wishing her the best and wondering why them and not you. :confused3 Either way, for her sake, I hope it does work out this time around...
This family made an offer to adopt her while we were in the process last fall. That ticked me off. And it seems they are rushing forward again. I really hope their experience is better than mine was and that they exercise much wisdom.
Again, sorry to hear she was not accepting of your offer.

Things may have changed for her back home, but as long as she's in touch with her mom, I have a hard time imagining her leaving Ukraine for good. I'll preface this by saying I'm usually a cynical jerk, but I doubt this will end well.

Nope. No more adoption for us. My wife would be open to it tomorrow if I was. But as before, I'll do what I think God is calling our family to. But right now, He's not calling us to that.

I knew you'd say that!!:rotfl: When IT told me of the problem I had to do a double-take to see which site it was. I never suspected it would be your site.

If anyone here is available at 9 p.m. Central Time tonight, we could use another voice for the podcast recording. This is the first time we're recording a podcast looking at "The Other Side of Orlando" - primarily focusing on Universal and Islands of Adventure. If anyone is interested, please shoot me an Email or a Facebook message.

Hmm.... I'd consider talking and drafting at the same time, but I still don't even have a microphone anyway. :rolleyes1

Are the prices based on the color of the plates? How where the meatballs?

Prices are based on how many plates you eat. They literally come over at the end of the meal and count the plates then give you a bill based on that. :rotfl2:

So it takes a trip to Sweden to enjoy a truly authentic Japanese dining experience.
Who knew?
:rotfl2:

Not sure it's truly authentic, but it's pretty interesting.

Eating Japanese in Sweden. url=http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php]
smiley-eatdrink020.gif
[/url] I say you eat half a plate and put it back on the belt. See how everyone reacts.:rotfl2::lmao:

So you guys are grossed out by the idea of eating Japanese food in Sweden, but you're fine with eating Japanese food in America, which is 1,700 miles further from Japan than Sweden is??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Your logic works about as well as you're use of smiley gifs. :rotfl2:

Or just poke your finger in every dish that goes by.

Not a bad idea, but unfortunately the conveyor belt is encased in glass to help prevent such shenanigans. You have to slide up a glass door at your table to get at the food. Apparently a Disdad had already been there and they learned their lesson! :lmao:

Eating with the Swedish Bikini Team???

This. :thumbsup2

Killing a little time before that big ABBA convention eh:lmao:

Welcome to the club! If anyone in this group were to take their laminated spreadsheet of park hours, adrs, parade times, etc and put it on one of those quarterback wristbands, it would have to be you. PICTURES OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!

Did they find any spare change while they were poking around in there? I once swallowed a quarter and crapped two dimes and a nickel. True Story.

I hope they find something soon. The waiting (and the pain) have to be driving you crazy.

Well, Hopefully UPS will have an overnighted package for me tomorrow. One of the vendors that does work for us offered us Milwaukee Bucks tickets. 4 tickets 7 rows off of the floor and includes parking and entry into the court side dining.
Do I like basketball that much. Not really. (wife does but doesn't ever watch it) Do I even know who is playing for the Bucks this year. Nope. But for a free night on the town (minus gas) how can i say no. Last time we went (which we got tickets from these guys a couple of years ago) the ticket price was around $230 per ticket.

I can't turn down free. Now for our half time entertainment, (I looked it up) Vanilla Ice will be performing. :music: :lmao:
The Bucks are still playing? :confused3 Who knew?

Have a great time! Hard to pass up seats like that, even if it is for the Bucks!

Congrats on the milestone. Nice late speech.

So, the movie Grumpy Old Men stole that from you?

Welcome. Dues are payable in Dole Whips, beer, bacon, or cake. Feel free to mail them all to me. There are some planners on here, and some of us are over on the WDW Commando thread. I am DVC as well and did the spread sheet for all our future trips when we first bought in 2008. We have been to all WDW DVC resorts except BCV, which is hopeful for Spring 2014.

So you're saying I should draft Marlins in tonights draft? :lmao:

Wait until my draft. It's already scary.

How many pro teams are in KY? None. I'll happily accept any pro sports tickets. Have fun.

Sorry that this is still painful. We just met a family who is looking to adopt a teenager and this is one of their fears.

Speaking of baseball, tomorrow is Ryder's 1st birthday. .

Happy early birthday to your DS.

Well, the second longest winning streak in NBA history ended last night. Not a bad run. I wonder which will last longer, the Heat winning streak or a Marlins losing streak?

I caught the second half. How did they get so far behind? And, without Noah?

‘Check your demon mailbox…
That’s where I sent them.

Been out of town this week. Heading home tomorrow. I'll talk with Stitch, but he probably will have eaten them by then.

Actually soccer try-outs start tomorrow morning with fitness testing.

You coach soccer too? We have had two soccer games cancelled because of the weather. I didn't think it was that bad though.

Norm I'm going to a Gift Auction Easter Monday, this is the one that has 2 live lobsters, I told you if I win them I'll send them out to you, so keep your fingers crossed, the place that they are coming from ships all over the world so them getting to live is pretty much definite:thumbsup2

Excellent. My absolute favorite meal. And, it was a lot of fun cooking them that time.

Since I'm laying in bed unable to sleep, I thought it would be a good time to mention that we still do have room for 1 more fantasy baseball team if anyone wants in. Just let new know asap. Draft is scheduled for 9pm tonight.

I'll be there. Been a rough week and I'm getting ready to go drinking. It will be an interesting draft.

The Heat's streak is over thank goodness. Now we can focus on more important things like baseball, baseball, NFL draft, and baseball :rotfl2:

Don't be a hater.

Hey guys. Checking in from Sweden. I just had lunch at a Japanese restaurant whose name loosely translates to "Super Conveyor Belt". Basically you sit at your table and there's this conveyor belt that runs throughout the restaurant and next to each table, and you just take plates of food (mostly sushi and desserts) off as they come by. Great stuff. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone's doing well.

So, are all Swedens blond and really hot girl bikini team models?

What a really long week this week. I pulled two 14 hour days and have been away from home since Monday. This is absolutely way too much effort for me. I have to work tomorrow to noon, drive 2 hours home, and then off for the next two weeks. I am so looking forward to the break.

I'm not buying this answer. Calipari runs a pro team out there all the time.

He ran them out of the NIT this year. :lmao:

They did have a great team last year - starting lineup featured 5 NBA players - which don't come around all the time. UL has assembled a good team this year, although the Big East hasn't faired well in the tournament this year. They have been fun to watch.
