Hey guys. Sitting at the airport waiting for a flight to Sweden. Should be cool to see the country (never been), but the time change and the fact that it's for work kind of put a damper on it...

Fed, thanks for the heads up on the Fla. highway crackdown. Unfortunately my wife has shot down the idea of a road trip to Disney about 100 times over the past few years, so I won't have to worry about the highway patrol. She keeps saying something about not enjoying 22 hours in the car with a 5 and 1&1/2 year old... :confused3

That's a lot of waiting...

Well played! :rotfl2:

Thanks.

It's actually a recon mission; I've been hired by a large group of disdads to find a new, permanent, home for Randall's penguins. Sweden is the first place I'm scouting out. ;)

Has anyone been to the Flower and Garden show at EPCOT? Thinking of heading over later this week but I need to convince FIL to go. He does like to garden so I have that to build on.

Yes, was very nice. Food and drinks were good also. Didn't go to any of the presentations.

That's a lot of waiting...

Haven't seen anyone trying to sneak in. I have a friend that works in border services, I'll give him a heads up to watch out for Americans snaeking up here to avoid the spring snowstorms.

Border patrol is lax, they let me back into the country.

I meant though, how is the snow out East? Ours has just about disappeared, despite last weeks attempts to replenish. Finally up to seasonal temps today, which will help get rid of the ugly dirty drifts.
Just saw the Magic Kingdom was at Phase 3 closure (only admitting Annual Passholders, Disney Resort Guests, and people with ADRs). Checked the My Disney Experience App for wait times:
Big Thunder 70 mins
Buzz Lightyear 95 mins
Dumbo 105 mins
Enchanted Tales with Belle 80 mins
Haunted Mansion 90 mins
Small World 70 mins
Jungle Cruise 65 mins
Tea Cups 35 mins
Peter Pan 95 mins
Space Mtn 120 mins
Barnstormer 80 mins
Under the Sea 70 mins
Carousel of Progress 5 mins. <-no, that's not a typo. It's a FIVE MINUTE WAIT for Carousel of Progress

Kind of glad to be sitting at my desk wishing I was at Disney World instead of actually at Disney World right now.

:faint:

When we went in April 2003, we traveled on the Easter Weekend, checked in on the Tuesday after Easter. Granted, it was a late Easter (April 23rd or something like that, but crowds were non-existant then.:confused3

I'll take the August heat over those wait times.

Thanks.

You are going to have to post pictures here or on facebook when you get back!! :thumbsup2

I am glad we are not there this week....those crowds are horrendous sounds like!!! When we go April 13-21 according to Touringplans.com or something like that the crowd levels are expected to be only 3 or 4 that week! :worship:

Spent a good part of the afternoon on the phone to DVC Member Services. The May trip got moved from Saratoga to Animal Kingdom Standard View. That netted me 8 more points that I would lose in June. Added two more days and "rented" the remaining points I needed from Disney. So the trip is the 20-26. Woo Hoo!

Also reserved our room for Marathon Weekend. The Pirate Princess told me she wants to do the Dopey Challenge (5K, 10K, Half and Full). Have a Pool/Garden View Studio from the 8th to the 13th. Double Woo Hoo!

Evening all…
Had a fine afternoon with the Lady of the House (or is that Master of the House?)…
Anyway it’s been a good day.

That is N-V-T-S nuts! :faint:
Glad I ain’t there trying to deal with that madness.

Happy Birthday to DW and congrats on the new trip. And you are a smart man for the extra spoiling.

I ain’t the sharpest knife in the drawer…
But I do know what will maintain piece and harmony in the house.

By the way, not that I haven’t enjoyed watching FGCU run amuck in the tourney…
But you need to talk to your boys up in Gainesville and make sure they put a stop to that foolishness this time around.

Yes...this car. I even gave them the "Hey jackwagon there's cop's ahead Blue and Red and blue light courtesy flash".

They ignored it....guess they thought it might work out.

I can assure you if you get pulled over by FHP, and you have out of state tags, you ain't getting a break.

“What we’ve got here… is failure to communicate” :sad2:

Seriously... whenever I get the courtesy lights, I smile and wave and slow down. They definitely deserved it.

Er... I meant if, not whenever. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Sure you did… :lmao:

Should be an interesting opportunity.
Tell what you think of the place when you get back.

Now, who couldn’t enjoy a trip like that? :rotfl2:

Now look what you’ve done :lmao:

Woo Hoo seems like a bit of an understatement there.
We should all be livin’ the life of CJ.

I figured you did. It was almost gone and then we added about a foot last week. There has been some melting the last couple of days.

I agree with you on the August heat over the long wait times.

We just started to look into DVC, what do you mean you would lose the points CJ?

Excellent. Did you schedule time with the National bikini team?

We've been a few weeks before Easter, and it was very nice. Scared to go during Easter week.

Where did you book for the Marathon weekend? Good get on both.

We just started to look into DVC, what do you mean you would lose the points CJ?

I'll give you a brief answer. With DVC, you are alloted a certain amount of points each Use Year. If you don't bank them by deadline (4 months before UY ends) and you don't use them, then you lose them. You get your new allotment at the next UY.

As I said, smart man.

Talked to Billy and the boys and they are going to take them down. At least I hope. Good story though and it should end in the next game.

Nice!

Nice job!! :thumbsup2

Thank you. And it does suck to be me.

We just started to look into DVC, what do you mean you would lose the points CJ?

Trying not to make this complicated but here goes... Each year you are "allocated" your points for the year. If you do not use them, you lose them at the end of your use year. BUT, you can "bank" them for use in the following year.

In my case, I burned through all of my points and had to "borrow" from next year for the May trip. Once points are borrowed, they can only be used during that year. When my waitlist came through, AKV was 8 points less than what I borrowed so I had to use them by June (the month that starts my use year) or lose them.

I know I confused the hell out of you but it really is simple to track your points and make sure you use your allocation. This is the first time that I had to worry about it mainly because the Aulani trip ate a ton of points. A 1 BR Ocean view will do that.

My home resort, Boardwalk. Tried to get a standard view but they were booked. Same with BW view.

Darcy, what Norm said.

I think we are trying Spring Break next year with Easter being two weeks after we will be there. Let's hope that is better.

Has anyone been to the Flower and Garden show at EPCOT? Thinking of heading over later this week but I need to convince FIL to go. He does like to garden so I have that to build on.

We've been a few times. Last year, they had a cranberry bog in Epcot. Not quite as big on the TV commercial, but had a CM in there in waders. Really cool. As Don said, all the topiaries are really cool.

Yep!
It’s going to be one third of his 18th-Bday/HS-Graduation present.

The second third is that we’re letting him bring along a good friend of his who is also hitting those same milestones (on our dime). The other fell’a is a real good kid, but his family struggles week-to-week so there’s no way they could pull off something like this. Not having siblings, the company will be good for Max to build more memories among his peers rather then just hanging around with mom and dad. They’ll both be 18 by then as well so we could even split up from time to time which will let me actually date my wife again… at Disney… looking forward to that too.

Happy Birthday to your DW today. Sounds like you have a good 18th birthday planned for DS. Getting ready for my oldest dd and DW to leave for school trip to DC in two weeks, youngest dd has been planning daddy/ daughter date nights. She told DW that she will have been on more dates with me than her after that week. Post kids, she may be right.

Morning guys. Looks like we got about 7" of snow here on the west side of Indy. It will be in the 50's for Easter :confused3

Hope everyone has a great Monday. It's a short work week here :cool1:

Just another dusting of snow here. Keep it all up there with you.

Good morning Dads. DS birthday today (I now have a teenager in our house and feel old) and he did not want to go to school today. He has MCAS testing today which we affectionately call it the Mass. Child Abuse System.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Testing is basically preparing to take the test in high school and DS felt he should not have to take it on his birthday. !

Happy Birthday to DS and congrats on having a new teenager.

Didn't mean to answer for you. Not sure when you would return or how soon Darcy need to know. I looked at a west coast swing - Aulani for some nights and VGC for some nights. I'm thinking that would be a nice trip for our 20th aniversary.

My home resort, Boardwalk. Tried to get a standard view but they were booked. Same with BW view.

I didn't know you owned at BWV. I really do like that resort.
