Must be one of those "cheaper to fly in the same country" things. Have a good week this week. I know you'll have a great one next week.

When we are heading to Florida we always drive into Maine, usually to Portland which is about 5 hours. It is pretty rare to get a cheap flight in Canada.

Morning Dads

Got back late last night from a too short trip to Disney. We were only there about 48 hours. We were there with my Sis and brother in law who haven't been to Disney much. I built a touring plan for them so that they could ride all the e-ticket rides in all 4 of the parks in 1.5 days of touring and we had a lot of fun, but it really felt like we were just scratching the surface. There was so much stuff that we didn't get to enjoy.

I'm exhausted now sitting in the airport waiting to head for Phoenix. As it stands now I don't get back home till about midnight tomorrow and 4 hours after that I leave to chaparone my sons 5th grade field trip to DC. I have a feeling I am going to be comatose on Saturday.

Hope the week and the flights are uneventful. The weather was beautiful in Florida this past weekend so it should be really nice on the cruise.

We are hoping the weather stays good for both the cruise and a short stay in Florida when we get back. Really looking forward to the trip.

We did one of those whirlwind WDW tours a couple of years ago, including 3 parks on Boxing Day. It was a blast but it always nice knowing you will be going back for a much longer stay.

Holy Crap - I don't login for a weekend and I miss 10 pages! :crazy2:

It was a whirlwind of a weekend for me and I see Monday found a way to find us again. Darn Monday!

Hope you all have a great week! :thumbsup2

Morning all... Was a crazy past week.... Here's to hoping that this one is more lack.... Hope you all have a great week.

It was a fun but tiring day.

Good times! :thumbsup2

Evening guys,

Back from Middle School provincial basketball championships. For a JV team playing against varsity teams, the boys did pretty well. We were in a pool of 4 and finished 3rd with a 1-2 record. All close games and the boys played hard, the other coach and I are pretty proud of the boys. Two more games tomorrow to finish off the District championship. Hopefully that will be the third tournament win for the boys in this short school season.

So anything exciting happen in here the last couple of days?

Congrats to the boys! And good luck with the final day. Still wish we had middle school teams and not just youth travel leagues.

After watching United States Of Bacon last night with my son, when I started cooking dinner tonight he kept bugging me to cook bacon (being a Dis Dad of course I have a couple pounds on hand:thumbsup2), so he wanted to watch United States of Bacon (on Demand TV) while eating bacon, and indeed he did:cool1:, funny thing is he asked why they always show pigs during the show:rotfl2:

We watched the show How It's made and they were making bacon. Both kids kept asking about how a pork belly can possibly be bacon. :lmao::lmao: Didn't stop them from eating it though.

Evening guys. Turned out to be not the greatest weekend. I sprained my back doing Insanity yesterday and can hardly walk due to the pain. Went to the urgent care and got some muscle relaxers. Waiting til closer to bed time to try it. Should be an interesting couple of days. There are good things to be happy about though. I'll be sharing soon!

That'll teach you to exercise.:rotfl2: Sorry to hear you are injured. hopefully it heals quickly. Sharing muscle relaxers is always encouraged. :thumbsup2

Thanks Jim. The middle school team has been the saviour for DS this year. He travel team has been a bit of a mess all year and not a lot of fun for him.

Hope you feel better soon :thumbsup2

I need a suite at your finest resort :lmao:

Norm will have the living room couch made up for you.:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Good morning! Only 5 days until the weekend :cool1:

I know this isn't as important as some of the other prayer requests, but if you could say a small prayer that our adoption application will be accepted by the agency we want to work with. They do great work and specialize in waiting children, so it seems like a great match for us. We should hear by weeks end.

Thanks

It's very important and prayers for a smooth and successful process!

Morning Guys,

hoping for a quiet week, working until Thursday and getting some rest on Friday as we will be driving through the night to get to our flight south. can't wait!!!

In case I forget later in the week, safe travels and enjoy the time away.

Morning guys,

Tax time for me. Getting together all the stuff and bringing it to the accountant. Fingers crossed her tuition tax credit helps.

Taxes done a couple of weeks ago for us. Ours are still pretty simple. I have just enough coming back to support my traveling to Disney habit in 2014 (already booked August in 2013:cool1: and planning to head down in January for the 1/2). Really don't know how we missed the estimates by so much, but we'll adjust for next year.:confused3

Good luck with the education credit. :thumbsup2

Good morning. Kids are still sick, busy week ahead... Is it Friday yet? :sad2:

Prayers everyone feels better soon. We lost all of vacation week last week due to illness.

Holy Crap - I don't login for a weekend and I miss 10 pages! :crazy2:

Yes, those Monday's just keep coming. I really wish we could find a way to make weekends 3 days. Of course then we would hate Tuesdays, and no one wants to do that.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sounds like a great day. We had close friends that were there all week last week and said the crowds were crazy. I suspect this may have been the first time they went....and over a vacation week.:sad2: Not sure how much planning was done, but they enjoyed the week.

‘Morning all…

While it’s still relatively calm here I might as well do a bit of catching up.
(never know when the black hole of work will swallow me back up again)

Dinner tonight,

Top Sirloin

Filet Mignon

Rib Eye

Bottom Sirloin

Beef Ribs

Lamb

Pork Loin

And for dessert,

Crème Brule

or what's left of it. :lmao:

drooling-homer-simpson1.jpg

Maybe, I have a meat hangover.

I’m sure you’ll recover quite nicely.
Glad y’all had a great birthday evening out.

Rob, thanks for that back-handed complement. :rotfl2:

You’re welcome. :rotfl2:

I was more of a comment on a nemesis meet in general.
Had you post first…
I’d likely said the same thing.
(and then Mark would have been calling me out in it :lmao: )

Still a great outing and they’ve been very competitive all season. Congrats to them for staying close and putting in all the effort. It’s far easier to sit on the sidelines or not even try. Good luck in the District Tourney.

Ouch! Heal quickly…
And be sure to tell us about those good things on the horizon.

Never heard of it. There are just way too many of these reality shows. Not sure what that says about American tendencies for entertainment but I hope that this is a temporary trend.

I hoped the same thing when the first couple of those “shows” appeared back in the mid 90s. :sad2:

Needles to say… my cynical expectations of American Pop Culture have more then been exceeded since.

That show may be the worst I have ever seen. I think they found the dumbest family they could, told them to act even dumber and think people will watch it. I give it one season and then off the air. We saw the first episode and will not watch again.

That's pretty much how I feel about The Jersey Shore show, The one thing about Southie Rules that tops The Jersey Shore, is that they all actually live there::yes::

What?
Y’all thought that “Duck Dynasty” was an accurate portrayal of life in the South?
:lmao: :rotfl2:

The kids met their newborn cousin for the first time this weekend. DD wants to know when we're going to have another baby. I said its not going to happen. She then asked when she can have a baby. :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

That dog might be coming sooner rather than latter.

 Stuff like that that will cause the heart to skip a beat or twelve.
I’m liking the dog idea a lot in this instance: :lmao:

Good morning! Only 5 days until the weekend :cool1:

Morning David…
Ever the optimist :rotfl2:

Is too! Prayers sent sir

All time at Disney is good time, even if you only scratch the surface.
The chaperoning mission probably will take it all out of you…
But what a great experience it will be for everyone going.
(and we expect a few pictures you know)

Good morning. Kids are still sick, busy week ahead... Is it Friday yet? :sad2:

Again I say…
May they heal up quickly (and try not to catch it yourself)

Prayers everyone feels better soon. We lost all of vacation week last week due to illness.

Wow… sorry to hear about that one.
Rough way to have to spend what should have been a relaxing time.

Yes, those Monday's just keep coming. I really wish we could find a way to make weekends 3 days. Of course then we would hate Tuesdays, and no one wants to do that.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

A seven-day weekend seem like the only good answer then.
That having to earn a livin’ thing is such a pain in the @$$. :lmao:

Saw Mary Poppins yesterday with DW and DD. Good show- not great, but good. Maybe I stayed up too late the night before, but I fell asleep three or four times.

Good morning! Only 5 days until the weekend :cool1:

Will do. Let us know what happens.

:headache::mad:

OK, so I have been trying to book ADR reservations for the end of August and nothing is available unless you want dinner at either 3PM or 9PM. I started at 190 days out as they allowed me to do it due to the reservation. REALLY Disney? This is getting to be a pain in the a$$. The crowd calendars show 4-6 for that time. Can there really be that many people eating all day?!

So far we have only a few (subject to change):

Le Cellier
Prime Time Cafe
Akershus
Ohana (Breakfast)

I'm thinking we may just scrap the meal plan and go OOP, eat a good breakfast and CS dinner if nothing is available. It seems like I am planning our days specifically around the meals. Too stressful. We like to not plan every little thing.

OK, whining over. Everyone have a good week!

It were pretty proud of them. We were ranked quite high for a JV team so it gave them a chance to push themselves. Districts start for us in about 3 hours so hopefully tonight we will have won 2 more games.

Definitely praying that goes through for you.:thumbsup2

Close enough. Tell your boss you have my permission to go home.

Holy Crap - I don't login for a weekend and I miss 10 pages! :crazy2:

I know that feeling, since I usually don't get on here during the weekend. I just assume nothing important happened and go from there.

I was more of a comment on a nemesis meet in general.

Really? So far we haven't had those issues, other then BOG already booked solid. Maybe it's our ADR choices? Because we haven't got the main ressies done yet, I'm doing it daily as each day's 180 window pops up. Not the best system, but what we got to work with. I'd have like to have the rest all set, but got to do what DW wishes. :crazy2::scared::rolleyes2

So far we have:

1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Mama Melrose (fantasmic package)
Chefs De France (lunch, timed to see Remy again hopefully)
Via Napoli (dinner)
Whispering Canyon(dinner)

All except the Fantasmic package are in prime dining hours too?:confused3

Try calling. Sometimes booking over the phone works better than the online system.
