Hey guys, lots of talk about grim stuff lately. Well, today my world was rocked in the most awesome of ways. My DS was born at 9:42 this morning weighing in at 8 lbs 14 ozs and measuring 20.5" long. Already filling his little mind with all things Disney.

Well, sounds like we're under a tornado watch for most of the night. This will be fun...

Looks like we have some severe weather coming through here too. Not that there is ever a good time for it, but supposed to hit us between midnight and 2:00 a.m.

Evening guys. Awful about the news out of Texas. Prayers for all affected.

FBI released video and stills of the suspects from the bombing. I'm praying they get some leads on these 2, quick.

Been a rough week around here. The response of the people in and around the city has been great though. DW and I lived in the city, on the marathon route, before we had kids, and we spend a lot weekends in there these days with DD and DS. DD has been sheltered from the news, so she has no idea what happened, but I'm not sure how we'll handle talking to her about it the next time we're in there and she sees the damage/memorial sites that I'm sure will be up. Part of me wants to keep her away from it for a while, but the other part of me doesn't want to ever feel like someone can take my city away from me. For that reason we'll probably head in with the kids for a day in the next couple of weeks and explain it then.

Could use some good news, fast!

I could probably figure out how to do it, but I also don't do Facebook for the same reason, since if I actually figure out how to do it I fear I'd be too dangerous for my own good, I would never have time for anything else It seems like every week my wife gets at least one friend request and asks me if I know them, and usually I do, I would never get anything done if I started pictures or Facebook

Thoughts and prayers going out to the Fine People in West Texas, TX!

It is not too far up the road from us. One of my DW friends lived in the apartment complex that was destroyed. She has already gather 7 bags of clothes and bedding and will be taking it up to the shelters. She has a bunch of people at work gathering and I am getting some stuff from people at my office so there will be a car load of supplies and prayers going to help out this weekend.

P.S. it is West, TX not West Texas, TX
West is the name of the town not the direction. It is almost funny watching the national news guys try to get it right when they look at the map and try to figure out why it is called West but it is in the East side of the state.

Surprise, surprise... looks like the weatherman cried wolf. All the severe weather and 2"+ of rain ended up being .8" in a light shower.

Unfortunately, it is scaring the crap out of me. They got rain north of Indy while the bulk of it missed us, and that's how the past few rain events have been. Already shaping up the way last summer was, and I do not want to relive that kind of a weather pattern.
