She had to pay $51 for a new helicopter. One of the blades broke, so it is easily repairable. I figured this would teach her a bigger lesson.

And give you the money to buy a second helicopter to play with when the other one was being used.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

If you're already high, why do you need to get drunk? :confused3

Mostly sitting here at my desk or in meetings. All sorts of :headache::mad::headache::mad: meetings. We've been meeting with all sorts of IT Services vendors to find someone to supplement our IT staff. It kind of felt like I was interviewing my own replacements, but I've been assured that is not the case. Then just a few minutes ago I get a call from the Executive VP asking me to come to his office. My supervisor and manager are already in there. First thing I'm thinking is "you've got to be kidding me. Right before Christmas?" Turns out, it was to thank me for my effort and give me a promotion. Senior System Administrator. :faint:

Well that's a great way to celebrate the holidays! Congratulations! I hope this promotion comes with a big fat check.....or at least a little more in the standard one. Drinks all around!

It's not exactly a fat paycheck, but it is a little bit plumper than it used to be. :thumbsup2

Thats like asking why you need to continue adding strategic upgrades to the Mini-Van of Doom when it has already achieved a state of total awesomeness.

Because you can!

Congrats!
Did that new responsibility come with additional compensation?
(Were it down here Id already know the answer was: "silly me", but up that way it may still be different.)

Its a shame that our first thoughts when called to the principals is that we must be in trouble. Management generally does little to change that perception.

Hey Philip.:wave2: You working today? Is it slow there too?

Be glad you only have one. I can't even begin to tell you how many toys have been laid to rest in my house due to sibling conflict.

Howdy! Haha, yep last day so got a 5 day weekend, it's pretty slow , I have one more parts run (which I'm on now) then my supervisor leaves for a doc appt so prob take it easy for the rest of the day, got an extra Ben Franklin in my paycheck so that's pretty nice. How's everything in your neck of the woods?

The Minivan of Doom is a living, breathing organism. It needs to continually evolve to stay at the top of the food chain. Darwin was right.

Thanks! Yes, there was some additional compensation. Not a lot, but enough to feed my Disney habit.

From what I've been told, you get called to a conference room right next to the door when you've really messed up. Luckily, I've never gotten that call yet.

Because... well... ummm.... 2 is better than one?

Congratulations!!!! What a nice gift!

Thanks. But you know as good as I do - no matter how much fatter the paychecks are, I sill need to fill out (in triplicate and notarized) authorization and procurement forms and hand them in to SWMBO. Assuming it passes the first and second inspection, the review process usually take 6-8 weeks, so I don't think we'll have an answer by then.

Well, the sun is out today for the first time in about 2 weeks so that's good. Really slow business wise so kind of just cleaning up all those loose ends. Waiting to see what bonuses will be (I do the payroll here) for next week, if any. We just completed a stock buyback so who knows what that means. Other than that, just trying to get through tomorrow to start some the few days off.

Unless they plan on figuring out how to do it themselves, the owners would have to tell me ahead of time so I could terminate myself.:sad2::sad2: That would be an interesting conversation. I would be pissed at me!:rotfl2:

Approvals....You actually tell them when you get more $$. :confused3 That's the first mistake. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

.

Congrats on the promotion, I am sure it is well deserved :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Now you can add even another booster the Minivan of Doom and decrease your drive time by a few hours. Of course that means you have to give FED that much more of a head start :rotfl2:

What would you do then? In my book, you break a toy on purpose then you pay for it, especially when it was 5 days old.

It wasn't criticism (I agree fully with the punishment). Let me see if I can explain it. :scratchin Nope can't explain it, just thought it was funny at the time to make it sounded like you wanted your own helicopter. :scared: Sorry if offended you.

I ask for your prayers today - DD5 is having an MRI under anesthesia. Anesthetic scares the crap out of me.

Thoughts sent your way.

OooohHhhhh! I did know that! I got in now. I guess I'm a little slow today with the holidays and all. Brain has been turned off until next Wednesday.:rotfl:

Why is today any different than any other day?

No offense. I did want my own, but not this way. It's an expensive lesson, but I hope she learns it.

Just incase I do not check in between now and then...

Merry Christmas to everyone except Philip and Christopher. :santa:
