Good morning

Brent, I'm glad that the $#!t didn't run downhill to you. I would be nice to not have to bust your tail the last few days before vacation, but all things considered, it looks like good news.

I'll have a couple extra Dole Whips to compensate.:thumbsup2

Sitting at home with DS today. He's had a fever since yesterday, and it got up to about 103 this morning. Hasn't had any other symptoms of anything though, except that he doesn't want to eat anything. I took him to the Dr and they don't know what it is. Said it is probably a virus. They took a few swabs to run some tests but otherwise we just have to keep getting him to drink and monitor the fever.

The good news is that when they checked his height with his shoes off, he was 39 1/2" We're sitting here watching the Disney World planning DVD right now as I type this so I think that might be helping him feel a little better.:thumbsup2

Hope the little guy feels better soon, I hate those fevers, Audrey used to get them all the time, but fortunately seems to be outgrowing it....He's right at the height now Audrey was last trip, so close, yet not...quite..there..Won;t be long now!

Well, let's seeeeeee....
I saw a bunch of you were following along last Monday on our Tower of Terror marathon. Sorry I didn't get on here, but it's a real pain to post pics from my phone to here. I'll get back here later with pictures and a write up, but this Monday was decidedly less magical.
DW took Ryder (16 months) to the doc to look at an odd mark under his armpit. We assumed it was some kind of infection, and that we'd get a prescription for amoxicillin or something and be told to make a follow up appt for 2 weeks later. Boy was I surprised to get the call from DW saying they had admitted him to the hospital for a few days of iv antibiotics and possible surgery if it doesn't clear up.
So if you do believe in, and talk to, some sort of higher being, could you mention Ryder to him/her? It would be much appreciated. I'll try to pop on with relevant updates as I get them.

We haven't technically met yet around here but your boy is being mentioned in my prayers. Hoping all is well. Take care man.

Well, some good news on the home front. The wife had her surgery on thursday to remove the disc between vertabae C6-C7. It went very well with the surgeon being quite effusive about the outcome. All the pain was gone when she woke up and the strength is back in her left arm. Looks like she'll be ready for the drive down to WDW the beginning of Oct, although it will have to be a quiet time at the parks, no coasters, drops or being jerked around (physically, i still get to do it mentally). Looks like lazy river, Soarin' and the train around MK. Maybe Haunted Mansion, and a lot of shows.

Barry, sorry to hear about Ryder. Hopefully they'll get it under control and he'll be out of there after a couple of days.

David, I'm glad the adoption process is moving in the right direction!

Prayers for Ryder from the whole clan over here.

One down, two to go! :hyper:

And now for the fallout from Friday's escapades....:rotfl2:

Not much was said of it when I came in, boss had an idea but hadn't gotten to deal with it yet, she was tryong to catch things up from missing the week. After she left for lunch, her boss showed up with his assistant and the acting DM at the time, they walked around and talked a lot with the assistant (who wanted to intercept/deal with them) and stayed for a couple of hours talking to the boss etc, with what they want.
Apparently we need to have the store at 100% for Thursday, including having the floors stripped and refinished.:confused3:confused: :sad2: All and all, not too bad, aside it means no coasting to vacation, going to be a hard working couple of nights.
There will be some mild reprecussions on procedures, etc.

Assistant thinks there will likely be some moves to boot, and in a small and sad way I hope there is, at least one.

As for myself I'm in the clear, Boss pullled me aside later on since I'll be gone for a bit soon, and confided some things that I got to keep TIGHT lipped. Amongst the changes is I'm going to take over handling the beer section when I get back. Sales in that area are down, she knows it's my specialty. This is why I want the move, the only moral problem, is it's run by my buddy, and it could lead to sore feelings. He is the one always in her bad books, and hs wanted out for some time, I know he got in the ear of the DM today so maybe he will get what he wants, and no straining of a friendship, y'know what I mean?

On the BIG plus, the way things are going, there will be NO issues I will need to worry about when I clock out Wednesday, I can head to Disney with a CLEAR conscience :cool1::cool1:

Thanks for all the thoughts and wishes, I might just get a win out of this yet.:thumbsup2

Heading to the World, back in charge of the beer when you get back and the boss is letting you in on secrets. Looks like things are looking up for you my friend. Sounds like a good reason to share a Dole Whip next week.:thumbsup2

Glad they were able to get your wife fixed up and with no more pain. :thumbsup2 Nothing wrong with Soarin' and the train and even IASW.

Thanks for all of the prayers, guys. The surgeon was in this morning to check him out, and doesn't think surgery will be needed. Ryder is responding well to the antibiotics. It's at least one more night here in the hospital, but it could be worse.

And on a Disney-related note.... son of a b*$&%!. Ryder was napping this morning, so I checked Southwest.com for fares for our January half-marathon trip. They dropped to $122/person each way, so I got the go-ahead from SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed, for all the new fellas) to purchase. Just then the nurse came in, so I shut the laptop and talked to her for a bit. After she left, I reopened the laptop, had to re-establish my wi-fi connection, and the prices went back up to $145! :headache:

Tuesday, got nothin' for ya except it's not Monday Ownage.

Happy everything went well. Great news, especially the pain free part!

Hope he feels better soon. You did remind him that his sneaker soles are exactly 1/2", right? Looks like lots of new opportunities coming up.

Anybody have a recent trip they'd like to do a DISDads Destinations And Diversions podcsat trip report about? I'm looking to get a few more recorded in advance, so that they're ready to go before I take my trip in September. If you've got a trip you'd like to share, post over on the other boards, shoot me an Email, or send a Facebook message (I don't like to do DISDads podcast "stuff" on these boards too much).

Man, that's just straight up Beverly

Well, I have been back from our WDW & The Dark Side® extravaganza for a week. I think I have caught up on most of my backed up work stuff, so I hope to get back in here more often.

For any that did not see my DisDad meet pics on Facebook, here are my pics for evidence:

James Cameron and I

I finally met Barry

I missed James Goodman, Brianna, Stewart, and Michael Williams. :(

That's all you got with all those posts?

I agree! Why would you put an olive on that? :crazy2:

Your weekly supply of vegetables?

I'll have a couple extra Dole Whips to compensate.:thumbsup2
!

An excellent idea.

Congrats to her. As a chronic back pain sufferer, I get it.

Poor kid... :grouphug:

I am putting a good word in with the man upstairs.

I don't see a problem. Could use more bacon though.

Always could use more bacon.

Yes! Training camp is about an hour from my office. I have customers that I must see on a regular basis in that area. They have a great play area for kids :thumbsup2
:

That is cool. The Bengals used to come to KY, but I don't know if they still do. That was back when Esiason was QB, and was told he was a real jerk.

Good morning. We got an email last night that our home study report will be finished this week and sent to our agency. Some corrections still may have to be made, but this means we are getting closer :cool1:

Excellent news.

well 3 more sleeps till BLT

Another round of excellent news.

Man oh man, I'm getting excited...Knocked off another thing off the to-do list this morning. Two more sleeps.
.

Even better news.

At some point I’m sure that’ll happen.

But I have connections to the staff up there…
He ain’t got the time to be doing too much of that nonsense (at least not yet).
If he is and it doesn’t effect his playing of juried performances… so be it.
If he starts missing mandatory rehearsals or losing rank in his studio…
I’ll hear about it.
.

It's good to know there are good dads that raised good kids not to be drunk thru their college years and act like complete idiots.

Been following both stories. Congrats to you and Bambi (again) and continued prayers for Ryder. I would like to know what it is that he has. Scary.

Any chance there is any more money in that? Glad there is no fallback.

Was checking my time card today and I am going to get OT this week even though I am only working 1/2 day Friday so we can get on the road. Seems like I have to work 2 hours to make up for every hour of vacation. There is no one in my office who can cover all my work load so I can only imagine what it will look like when I get back. But it is ok cause I told my boss today that this vacation I will not be taking my phone, first time I have not been available since I started there.
3 sleeps till we leave for the world. WHOO HOOO
