Morning guys,

the big reveal went great. I was going to video tape it but didn't want to since he was still in bed. I will say he's never came out of bed faster. :lmao:

Leaving in a couple of hours, talk to you all when we get back.

Glad the reveal was a hit. Have a great time.

Randall - you can add me to the list for next year.....Just reserved my first ressie as a DVC owner at BLT for April 12-19th! :cool1:

Congrats. Enjoy BLT and make sure you stop by the lounge upstairs. Great view.

I plan on testing my sea legs on a DCL cruise. My wife just decided that for her 40th she wants to cruise Europe- just me and her. But I've never cruised before so a 3 or 4-nighter will be a good way to test the waters (pun intended).

Trust me Chris.....3 or 4 days will be enough to just make you want more!!! DCL does it the best though!!;)

Chris, I agree with Steve. At least shoot for a 4-nighter. The three day you get on, go out and come back. Barely enough time to unpack. What are you thinking about in Europe? A friend did a few days on the Rhine and loved it.

When we were in the UK, our boat was a little smaller

Good morning Gentlemen.

I've got a serious question for you guys this morning. Last night we read the thread announcing free dinning will be released for part of our trip in October. It has thrown us into a bit of a scramble. When the rumors came out we made a second set of reservations that would fit free dinning in case we decided to change. We have all the ADRs in that second set we want except CRT. We arrive on October 14th and free dinning is supposed to start on the 18th. We were planning on doing a week using my parent's timeshare points. That would have us checking into AoA on the 21st. We've thrown out doing a short stay at the time share and doing an extra three days at AoA, checking in on Friday the 18th when free dining is supposed to start. If I read the Disney site right, we can pick up our tickets three days before our check in. That happens to be the day we're planning on going to MK and have BBB and CRT reservations in our original plan before free dinning came out. My questions:
1) Does it make sense to tack on and extra couple of days for extra free dinning?
2) Is my math right and we can pick up our tickets on Tuesday for a Friday check in?
3) If we were to pick up the tickets early, where would we pick them up at?

Thanks :thumbsup2

Extra days? Yes if you can afford it.
Not sure you can pick up tickets for the package early but I could easily be wrong.
If you can, I imagine any Guest Services at the parks or Downtown Disney.

‘Afternoon all…
Life got real hectic and I’ve missed being able to keep up over here for a few days.

I see we finally closed the old thread…
Congrats to Paul (nice picture too)

OK, geek time… I’ve got the Stats worked up for XXIII for those that are interested. I also figured that it was time to consider them a bit differently. Once a member of the DDC… always a member in good standing. That won’t change, but even still, times change, folks come and go and priorities get rearranged. It seemed to me that the general stats ought to reflect those changes in our worlds. So… I’ve added a new listing that reflects totals starting from the beginning of DDC-XXI (which dates back to summer of last year). I think it better reflects how the group currently interacts. The All-Time numbers are still here along with the other regular tables. If you can think of any other way that you’d like to see this useless data rearranged, holler out. I ]

Good job Rob!!! I can remember when I was among the top 10!!! Now, I am barely hanging on to a top 20 all-time!!! I do think that I have posted more on this thread already than the entire last thread!

Thank you again for doing this Rob! I know I speak for a many a Dad that look forward to see your stats at the end of the old thread! :worship:

Oh yeah, Page One Updated! :thumbsup2

Nice! Nothing like manipulating Excel sheets.

Gott’a get paid to do something.

Y’all are welcome.

Just trying to make myself useful as well as ornamental.

Quick request for a little prayer for my dad. Been having trouble with his eye now cannot see out of it. They are not sure whether or not it'srelated to the chemo or his diabetes. It'll be basicly 6 weeks before they can address this, which is going to keep him from driving.
He's in a pretty low state right now, between the cancer and this. He just got a new trailer up north after almost 30 years, and a membership for golf and now is basicly grounded at home unable to use them. He's wondering what's next, and could use a little goodluck to comne his way. I know he'll get over this, but it;'s hard to see him like this. Thanks

Prayers for your dad.

So the disdads give input, but mom and kids get final vote. Smart move..

The DisDad vote was to know how to influence the presentation of the options to the family. Not that I would intentionally try to influence the vote, but I did notice a couple of dead relatives on the voter registration list. :)

Excellent voter fraud".

Not really a baseball fan..besides, kids are chilling out watching Disney XD

Well, they are much better live in person, but still a good game.

The last 2 days of work I must say have been interesting to say the least, I have found that at least 12 people have done my job while I was away, although it looks like nothing really got done, I only know that many people worked because the last 2 days they were coming up to me saying they worked X day and have no idea how I do it:lmao: I knew it was going to be a mess Thurs when I was at Busch Gardens and got a call from my Ice Cream vendor trying to find out how much IC we needed for this weeks sale:eek:

I've been giving everyone the countdown till my 2 week WDW trip, IMO since a 1 week vacation the place went to shambles, it would be wise to free up a couple of people to work with me the next 2 weeks so things run a little smoother, but what do I know:confused3:lmao:

Ha! Shows what you know, Mr Smarty Pants! They're only mostly dead! :wizard:

Couldn't sleep so I was going to eat the danish I bought yesterday. Ants got to it before I had a chance. Now off to Dunkin Donuts after waiting 45 minutes for it to open. Did I mention there is a monsoon outside right now?

Goal #2
Just need to figure out a way to pay for it. :scratchin

Been trying to convince the MIL to sell her camper and just buy DVC Points.
We would be able to use them then because they wouldn't always use them and if a DVC owner passes, don't the points go to an inheritor?

Of course if that was true she would probably end up outliving me anyways.

Morning evreyone...hope you all are keeping cool....we're still under the Extreme Heat Alert here...:crazy2: Might get some rain/t-storms this afternoon hopefully it'll bring relief.

Last night we decided to hit the pool, it was open till 8 normally, 9 with the heat alert. We rushed home had dinner and made it just after 7, and...they were in the process of closing up for some reason, issuing refunds to the paying patrons. Didn't get a reason why though. Might try again tonight, DW is going to call them and find out ifit was a one-time thing.

The dds have an eye dr appointment today, so I am using a sick day. I had 10 weeks of paid leave last fiscal year and I'm going for 11 weeks this year. Looks like I'll use 5 sick days for various Dr appointments in July, so I'm starting out in the right direction.

It's good to know that you are needed at your job. I've not done a two week vacation to WDW before, but it sounds fun. I think I'll go to the DVC charts and have some fun this AM.

Couldn't sleep so I was going to eat the danish I bought yesterday. Ants got to it before I had a chance. Now off to Dunkin Donuts after waiting 45 minutes for it to open. Did I mention there is a monsoon outside right now?

Neither ran, nor snow, nor dark of night, nor monsoon can keep me away from donuts. DW liked the dunkin donut coffee blend so much that we now just buy their bags of coffee and use it in the home brewer. She found a big bag of it at Sam's Club last week, which makes it even cheaper. Now, if I can just get the daily donut to go with it.

Several have mentioned plasma donation. Yes, you can pass on the DVC timeshare contract. The Boardwalk contract expires at 2042. I'll be close to 70 and will get 30 years of vacations from that contract. I think the BLT contract has another 18 years after that. I'll have to either re-deed that contract or just sell it. Although, I may enjoy going to WDW at 88.

Mark if you ever have Kidney stones just be thankful Shari is no where near you to take you to the hospital...She will stop at EVERY red light and then drop you off at the front door while she goes to find a parking spot! :faint:

Man, that's just not even right! :headache::rotfl2:
