Well done nemesis...

Thanks Brian.

:cool1::cool1: Welcome home!

Thanks Paul. I have to admit, it felt pretty cool when I called Member Services to get the reservation and the first thing they said was "Welcome Home"

Congrats!

Thanks John!

Goal #2
Just need to figure out a way to pay for it. :scratchin

Been trying to convince the MIL to sell her camper and just buy DVC Points.
We would be able to use them then because they wouldn't always use them and if a DVC owner passes, don't the points go to an inheritor?

Of course if that was true she would probably end up outliving me anyways.

Good Luck convincing the MIL to give up her camper!

But yes, the points can be left to a beneficiary. :thumbsup2

‘Morning all…

The last 2 days of work I must say have been interesting to say the least, I have found that at least 12 people have done my job while I was away, although it looks like nothing really got done, I only know that many people worked because the last 2 days they were coming up to me saying they worked X day and have no idea how I do it:lmao: I knew it was going to be a mess Thurs when I was at Busch Gardens and got a call from my Ice Cream vendor trying to find out how much IC we needed for this weeks sale:eek:

I've been giving everyone the countdown till my 2 week WDW trip, IMO since a 1 week vacation the place went to shambles, it would be wise to free up a couple of people to work with me the next 2 weeks so things run a little smoother, but what do I know:confused3:lmao:

So are they paying you for all that invaluableness?
If it were my over-lords the answer would be no. But they sure aren’t shy about calling me from work even when I’m at Disney. That happened both of the last two time I foolishly attempted to enjoy some “earned” vacation time with my family.

Ha! Shows what you know, Mr Smarty Pants! They're only mostly dead! :wizard:

:lmao:
Good thing too, because if they were “all dead”, then there’s only one thing that you can do...
go through their clothes and look for loose change.

Couldn't sleep so I was going to eat the danish I bought yesterday. Ants got to it before I had a chance. Now off to Dunkin Donuts after waiting 45 minutes for it to open. Did I mention there is a monsoon outside right now?
I can see that as a rational reaction to not having donuts.
Mission accomplished, I assume?

You could move into the camper and then just use that now surplus mortgage payment for even more DVC points.

Just sayin’.

Morning guys. Getting ready to head down to the beach in a while. Having a good time, but would rather be at Disney World. I can only sit around doing nothing for so long before I get bored.

DS is having a blast playing in the waves, but will only go if I'm holding him. For DD, thus has been the vacation from hell. She hates the sand and the waves. She doesn't mind the calm water in the pool though.

Trust me Chris.....3 or 4 days will be enough to just make you want more!!! DCL does it the best though!!;)
Next year, my wife's spring break (she teaches part-time) is different than my kids spring break. We're thinking of going on a DCL during her break next year but haven't looked too hard yet. We also have this year's trip to pay for as well as the one I'm planning in my head for next fall. That's a lot of $$. We'll see.
Actually I was lucky enough (all three times) to be taken right back because of "knowing" people :cool1:
Lucky. I was stuck in a camp in rural Virginia many miles from the nearest hospital. All we had was a nurse who was able to determine I wasn't dying (which I was pretty certain I was). To make matters worse, even though I am an extremely happily married man it was hard not to notice that the nurse was smokin' hot. It's awkward enough when a health care professional asks about your bowel movements. The fact that she was very attractive and I was writhing in pain somehow made it way worse. But that's a story for another day..
Chris, I agree with Steve. At least shoot for a 4-nighter. The three day you get on, go out and come back. Barely enough time to unpack. What are you thinking about in Europe? A friend did a few days on the Rhine and loved it.
Agreed. I would want 4 nights. I haven't done any of the research but I think she was looking at flying in to Barcelona and going from there to Greece, Italy and whatever else is close. I'm kind of interested in Eastern Europe but we haven't looked in to that yet. She's talking about a big ol' cruise ship. Not a river cruise like the Rhine although I've heard those are fantastic and darn near impossible to get sick on.
Anyone watchingl the all star game?
Cancelled cable a couple weeks ago. It would have been nice to watch Rivera's moment but I saw it online this morning. Having no tv programming is a mixed blessing. We hang out more and I'm glad that the kids aren't asking to watch shows all the time, but last week she made me watch Safe Haven. Ever seen it? Imagine the worst chick flick you ever had to watch. This was somehow more feminized, more schmaltzy and had worse acting than that.

Good morning gentlemen. Kids are still sleeping. I think if they are still sleeping in three hours I'll wake them up.

Yesterday they were playing tee ball in the driveway. DS got bored hitting from a tee so without a word DD all of a sudden starts pitching to him. They were using tennis balls and a plastic bat so danger of them breaking anything. It still shocks me how they can communicate with each other without speaking.

EDIT: Wouldn't you know, as soon as I hit send I hear little foot steps.

Awkward!

Ha! Shows what you know, Mr Smarty Pants! They're only mostly dead! :wizard:

Which is still a little bit alive....

Mark if you ever have Kidney stones just be thankful Shari is no where near you to take you to the hospital...She will stop at EVERY red light and then drop you off at the front door while she goes to find a parking spot! :faint:

My first page ownage of this thread!

Good job Rob!!! I can remember when I was among the top 10!!! Now, I am barely hanging on to a top 20 all-time!!! I do think that I have posted more on this thread already than the entire last thread!

An I still ahead? I better get moving!

I've done beer runs in a blizzard. Seems a little desperate for a doughnut.
Neither ran, nor snow, nor dark of night, nor monsoon can keep me away from donuts. DW liked the dunkin donut coffee blend so much that we now just buy their bags of coffee and use it in the home brewer. She found a big bag of it at Sam's Club last week, which makes it even cheaper. Now, if I can just get the daily donut to go with it.
That's all I brew at home any more. Costco has those big bags too. Lasts be about 2 weeks.

Ha! Shows what you know, Mr Smarty Pants! They're only mostly dead! :wizard:

He's not dead. He's getting better.
Wrong movie. :confused3

Totally with you on that. A day or two at the beach and I'm good.

Morning guys. It's definitely summer. I went for a run at 10 o'clock last night and it was still 85! Thinking about sacrificing some sleep tomorrow morning and trying to run then. This weekend the family is doing one of those color runs (DW and the little one are just walking). Not sure how I feeling about this thing. Anyone ever done one?

My DS didn’t care much for the sand or waves at six-ish months either. From about two years on through he got to liking it a lot more. Still not a big beach person though… it tends to lacks the same level of Youtube and Xbox saturation that his own room provides.
Enjoy the rest of the stay. Are y’all planning any other expeditions in the panhandle area while you down that way?

Lucky. I was stuck in a camp in rural Virginia many miles from the nearest hospital. All we had was a nurse who was able to determine I wasn't dying (which I was pretty certain I was).

Ouch…

I don’t know… seem like a good day for a story.

Had to look that film up…
Any film based on a Nicolas Sparks novel should be avoided at all costs.
No good will come of it.

Interesting that you dumped cable…
I consider doing that every so often but DW won’t be havin’ that.

I'm trying not to laugh at this. I've had kidney stones myself and know that it's no picnic. But the thought of trying to maintain your cool due to the pain sounds like a scene from a movie. :lmao:

*shudder* Need some good book recommendations?

I'm not much of a reader. After reading with three kids and three different books at bedtime, I usually don't want to read anything. Although I am reading a book right now called Daddy Dates. I didn't expect to like it but the guy has a lot of good ideas about parenting girls. I won't bother with a synopsis, just click on this to see it. You'd like it. http://www.amazon.com/Daddy-Dates-Daughters-Clueless-Confident/dp/1595553207

Usually I listen to books. After watching "Hannibal" this season on NBC, I remember how much I liked the movies. So I'm listening to "The Red Dragon" right now. Good stuff.

Thanks for the tip! Even if you're not much of a reader...I figured that given the movies you were watching, even reading the classified ads might be more entertaining.

News on the eye appointment. Youngest dd doesn't need glasses. Oldest dd (11) has had glasses, but DW got her contacts. I think that is a bit young, but I've never had vision issues. All I hear is more $. Thankfully, I have vision insurance and it covers contacts for DW. I hope it does for children.

My oldest dd loves the ocean, but younger one hates it. I prefer WDW, but am ok as long as there is food and beer nearby. One thing nice about being in the ocean. You can stay out there for hours without ever having to go to a bathroom. :lmao:

I really hate split stays, but am thinking about a Vero Beach/BLT stay for Fall Break.

Apparently, they communicate in their sleep as well.

Blasphemy on the donut. As for the movie quote, if I can get a Python Grail or Jack Sparrow quote in, then it makes me happy.

You could move into the camper and then just use that now surplus mortgage payment for even more DVC points..

I thought about that too before I got married - living in a camper or on a boat somewhere further south. Now, it's no longer a possibility.

Usually I listen to books. After watching "Hannibal" this season on NBC, I remember how much I liked the movies. So I'm listening to "The Red Dragon" right now. Good stuff.

I have liked that Hannibal show, or at least the episodes I have seen. I would like to drop cable completely. We currently have the "basic" cable, which gives us local channels and a few others, and the Internet thru Time Warner. However, some of the local cable affiliates are not subscribing to the networks, so I had to get a digital converter box and antenna to get them. Thus, cable Fox had "Whose Line is it Anyway" and Digitial converter box had the All Star Game. :furious:

I use to have that plan as well, but then I had to go and “get respectable”.
That ruined all my grand plans.

Too far.... I suggested that we could get on 75 after the ball game in Atlanta instead of 85, but that idea was shot down.

She loves water... That's the ironic thing, she just hates the sand and waves. She'd play in the pool all day. DS just had a little melt down about an hour ago. I made him ride an inner tube in waist deep water so I could get a break from carrying him every time I went into the water and he went into full on freak out mode.

I'm sitting in the room trying to get them to nap while DW holds down our spot on the beach.

There definitely is plenty of food around. I think it might be more crowded than an 8at Disney though. WE Needed some supplies, so I went to Walmart Monday. The parking lot was full, all check out lines were open and people were lined up back the main side aisles waiting to check out. I did the math in my head and decided gas station price for some milk and bottled water didn't seem so bad.
