Hump Day Ownage!

Just read The Festival of BACON!! Is happening in downtown Orlando Oct. 5th, envious of any Dad that's able to go.

Central Floridas first ever Festival of Bacon will take place on Saturday, October 5, in the heart of Downtown Orlando. Festival Park will be filled with bacon connoisseurs sampling some of the best bacon Central Florida has to offer. During the festival, event goers will enjoy bacon inspired treats from Central Floridas top restaurants, live music from local and National acts, bacon beverages, and other family friendly entertainment. There will be 30+ top restaurants creating bacon-*inspired samples, all competing to win the coveted Best of Bacon award. The Festival of Bacon will be distributing over 30,000 samples of bacon to a crowd of more than 2,000 bacon lovers who will travel far and wide to sink their teeth into dozens of delectable samples.

Will probably miss much of the rest of the thread. A mistake in a grant closing date that never got resolved left me with an extreme amount of work to get done on top of the normal work and little time to do it. I'll get it done or we will loose out on $11K but it is things like this that are why I encourage my kids to get training in a career so they can work for themselves.

At least I am still on the green side of the sod.

Sorry work is so busy, but $11K plants a lot of veggies! How are the crops doing?

I'm encouraging DD to pick a trade that will be helpful through life (to go along with her Disney career obviously). She really has no interest in school, but has a lot of talent in the arts. DS is heading to college as he is a human calculator.

For the love that is Holy, please let me sleep more than four hours a night. At least I am putting the time to good use. Making hash brown casserole. Breakfast is going to be good. Plus I am adding bacon to the recipe. Kitchen smells good right now.

First time for us for MNSSHP!! I can't wait, I really need this vacation.

Very good & enjoy. We have not done this yet but it is on the Disbucket List -gonna be a while until the kids are done with school.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Okay vent time. Background, DS has an extremely mild case of Goldenhar Syndrome. As a result he sees a buttload of specialists once a year. That day is two weeks from today. DW just got a call that they want to do the CT scan to look for middle ear bones BEFORE the appointment! They also said he needs to be sedated and will need a physical first. On top of all this DW is switching jobs on Wednesday next week so the window to do this is super small. As result DS gets to miss his first day of preschool on Friday. Nice of them to give us two weeks to get this done when the original appointment was made a year ago!

Sorry to hear about the hassles you guys are being put through - prayers that all goes well.

Welcome back! We have fall basketball starting up. DD made the Premiere team in our area (10 kids made it out of about 65 try outs). Of course she is 10 and 5' 3" so that helps. We do baseball/softball in the spring. Good luck with fall ball

Went by the local Disney Store on my lunch break and picked up our park tickets for January trip. So far, the room is paid for, tickets are paid for, airline tickets are purchased, and the rental car is on points. So, it looks like we are going! Only 143 more days to go.

Technically he is not ours yet, but the oldest of the sibling group we are adopting turns 9 today! Praying this is the last birthday he spends without us. Of course we will have cake in his honor tonight
