I'll close the deal for you! When do we leave???
I might have problems sneaking other people in, but if I ever do get out there you can bet I'll be taking pics and posting them here or the disdads facebook page.

We used to sell our hardware to the Disney movies unit. It was pretty fun telling people we were a supplier. No more though. The way they make movies now, it is not needed.:worried: Never knew they had offices in the northeast until we started shipping stuff out.

That would be pretty cool. I'm guessing most of the movie stuff is handled out of pixar now. :confused3

As a wise man once told me; "They're all sisters." ;)

:lmao:

My wife spent 6 years as a stay-at-home mom before going back to teaching this year. She's a wonderful teacher and really loves it, and it's at the same school my kids go to, so it was a perfect fit, and we still don't have to do daycare. Sometimes it can work out! :thumbsup2

I got that teacher vibe from her. That did work out well. So, you too are dependent on two government incomes and have two government pensions. Are we both part of the 47%?

I realy need to figure out how to multi quate on the app.
.

Why? :lmao:

I think that's a great idea. DW likes to make candy. She has a killer peanut butter ball recipe and Oreo Bon Bon recipe (ground up oreos, cream cheese in center with white chocolate outside). She makes Christmas candy every year, and could sell it quite well. Those are the retirement plans right now.

Speaking of retirement plans have any other dads thought about working for Disney in retirement. FL seems relatively inexpensive for housing so cost of living is pretty low. Part time work at Disney seems like a great way to make your retirement $ go farther. When I retire I think I'd really like to be a photopass photographer.

Another Wednesday ownage.

I want to be a boat captain on the MK, Poly, GF route. I'll settle for any boat captain route, but I want to be on a boat without the roof cover. I figure the employment will give me a good discount for all the future Disney stuff I'm going to buy.

It is part of my 20 year plan!

Always thought it would be great to drive a bus for them.

I would like to do the hover rail (it will replace the monorail) or drive the train!!

::yes::

... I like beer pressure better...

The only beer pressure I am familiar with is in my bladder.

I see stories all the time of people who start these types of businesses at home on a small scale. They bake in the house and sell the stuff at small or convenience type stores and when they build it up open a storefront with some existing customers. I know that's how Wicked Whoopie Pies started. Encourage her to try to look into it.

We talked about it last night and we have had some good orders in the last two months. So I think we will push forward and get the ball rolling here. She has agreed to proceed forward.

Is there someone above her boss or in HR that she can talk to? This sounds like something that borders on unacceptable work environment. Just a suggestion to see what options are available. I know I make sure all or our employees at least feel they are being treated with respect and dignity. Please wish your DW my best wishes that things get better and good luck with the interviews!

I will send her your wishes.
As for her bosses boss, on vacation this week. I told DW to talk to the District manager next week when her boss is on vacation. I told her to stay strong and be clear of the issues she has.

Best wishes on the new venture. All this cupcake talk gives me a rumbling in my tummy.

We talked about it this summer. I need DS to be older and then maybe we will look closer at it. But retirement is a real possibility.

Thank you everyone for the best wishes and advice. It nice to know others have the same thought of me and it nice to see DW smile when I read some of the post to her.
What ever the changes are in the coming months it will be ok and can only get better. Even if she just picks up a seasonal retail job and builds her cupcake business, I am ok with that.
So thank you all.
