Been a great week for me at the Chest Conference (get your mind put of the gutter Randall, Carl, etc!). I took on that post as Social Media editor and have been getting a lot of positive feedback from the general membership and the leadership. My experiences here have definitely helped. Most of the members/leadership are old men, so assumed that social media meant FarmVille and over sharing. But when I explained that it can be that but it can also be a forum for leading change, advocacy, and knowledge acquisition, it really seemed to sway them. (that and the explanation that social media isn't going away!). I got asked to serve on a couple of more leader level committees and to write 2 papers, which was nice. Too bad it's all unpaid... Thanks all for following me on twitter! Sorry for the 150+ posts in 5 days! For those of you who aren't and want to, I'm at @ChrisCarrollMD. I promise to slow down on the posts!

With that leader and all 100 Canadians, you may be able to take over Canada.

Here are some of his assistants (all Canadian)

Diving right into the world of social media.... Way to go doc! :thumbsup2

I haven't taken the leap to tweeting.

Funny, are you sure our wives aren't sisters. I brought up going back to work once. Never again. It was explained to me several times over the course of the next few months exactly why I should never ask again. Lesson learned.

My DW is another sister

I want to be a boat captain on the MK, Poly, GF route. I'll settle for any boat captain route, but I want to be on a boat without the roof cover. I figure the employment will give me a good discount for all the future Disney stuff I'm going to buy.

Boat captain is a good choice. At retirement age with some grey hair you'd look very distinguished so it'd fit the position well.

I would like to do the hover rail (it will replace the monorail) or drive the train!!
Hover/monorail would be good too.

::yes::

The only beer pressure I am familiar with is in my bladder.
And thats that type of pressure you have to obey.

We talked about it this summer. I need DS to be older and then maybe we will look closer at it. But retirement is a real possibility.
I'm going to shoot to do that when I reach fifty. We had kids when we were young so our youngest should be almost through college then.

Thank you everyone for the best wishes and advice. It nice to know others have the same thought of me and it nice to see DW smile when I read some of the post to her.
What ever the changes are in the coming months it will be ok and can only get better. Even if she just picks up a seasonal retail job and builds her cupcake business, I am ok with that.
So thank you all.
She sounds like she really enjoys it and has a gift for it. It might be a struggle at times but it's definitely worth pursuing. Good luck to you both.

I need to add Disney to my retirement plan but at this rate ill be 85 before retirement age, so hopefully Disney will have more greeter positions and a comfy seat I can sit on

Did anyone see that Disney saved water from 20,000 leagues for 18 years and added it to Ariel's grotto in a special ceremony , that and the hidden tribute they have in the little mermaid queue, I think it's an awesome tribute

And Norm I'll check to see if its legal to transport a family in luggage haha

Wow saving some of the water is really cool. It's neat to see that kind of tribute.

It was a busy day at work. :lmao:

Don't worry there are only enough of us to take over the world. This is the leader of our World Domination Movement!

Yeah but he married an axe murderer so he's probably not going to be around long.

Proud Disney dad here. Have 2 DD's 6 and 18mo and they are both very much into all things Disney. Heading down to BLT (our first trip as DVC members) in jan '13. Will be my oldest's second trip and my youngest's first. Really looking forward to it.

Welcome. Randall will be around to give you your number soon. We also have a presence on facebook, and at disdads.com. Apperantly you can follow Chris on twitter if you want to learn about Asthma and not the fun kind of chests.

You're gonna be at Disney during the disdads convention too. Several of us are running are you running?

I am running! Think I was overly ambitious and signed up for the goofy but given my lack of training, will probably just choose the half so my wife doesn't kill me when I'm overly sore. Totally underestimated how my job was going to go this year.

Welcome to a fellow BLT DVC owner. Dues here are much cheaper, and payable in Dole Whip, beer, bacon, or cake. My youngest dd was 18 months at the time of her first trip, and we've been back every year since.
