All is well with the world. Gators win big and the Hurricanes lose. Looks like they will stay the number two ranked team in the country. Good times. Sorry to see the former Head Ball Coach get beat so bad but hopefully they will win out.
Very impressive win this weekend. I really enjoyed watching that game and the K-State game Saturday.

The Purdue game... not so much. I'm glad that I was busy working early Saturday afternoon and didn't get to see much of it. If that coaching staff is still employed next year, I will not be buying any tickets. With the talent they have, there is no excuse for the crappy football they've been playing. The whole "playing not to lose" at the end was driving me nuts, and of course, bit them in the @$$. And for crying out loud, can we learn how to kick a frickin' extra point!?!?!?!?:headache:

Talked to the kid at halftime.
So she knows the rules then. I miss you, but if you call while the Gators are playing, I won't answer. :rolleyes1

Fall has come to campus. There is another kid from Miami there and they were talking, "The leaves turn red. And they fall on the ground." Can't wait for them to see their first snowstorm.
Toto, I don't think we're in Florida anymore.

They'll be fine if they'll give the Peanut Butter ball to Ray Rice. He's the one of the best RB's in the league... use him!

Actually, their best bet will be to fire Cam Cameron. Can somebody point out to me where he's actually had success in his career??? :confused3

Sunday night Faith Hill short dress ownage.
For some reason, I always have to stop what I'm doing and just sit and silently and watch when that intro starts. :rolleyes1

How many of your children have cell phones? DW said that on 5th grade class field trip earlier in the month, of about 75 kids, only 20 didn't have some type of phone, and many had iPhones. She is wanting to get oldest dd a cell phone with text plan for Christmas, which is $9.99 to add along with cheap phone. How about you all? When did your child (or plan to) get a cell phone?
Sounds more like the argument you should be getting from your DD... "but everybody else has one":rolleyes1

Truthfully, we're not anywhere near that age yet, but I don't see the need for a 5th grader to have their own personal cell phone. Maybe a prepaid or a dumbphone on a family plan to be used to call home if they're involved in after school activities so they can call if they need a ride. I just don't think a 5th grader needs one for social reasons.

Tim - you know she sings country music, right? Are you admitting to listening to it?:confused3

And I quoted the picture, just because I think it needs to be on here once again.

She got hers in 6th grade. Mainly because her middle school was far from the house/work and we needed to let her know we would be late to pick her up and to go to a friends house. We blocked text and internet access so it was just the phone.
Yeah, that's kind of what I'm talking about right there. Just basic phone access for emergency situations.

Her Psych class this semester is adolescent psychology so she will be well armed during the convention.

Morning Guys!

Had a very involved weekend. So many things had to get done, and many of them did not happen. Took the family to the eye doctor on Friday, turns out my youngest DD is almost blind in her left eye. So, she ended up with a prescription and 1 hour a day wearing an eye patch to make her brain start using her left eye. My oldest DD ended up with a new prescription as well, and after 4 yrs we finally got her new frames. Total Cost:$400. :scared:

We have to take the youngest back in 6 weeks to have another eye exam and the distinct possibility of new lenses... ouch.

Matt
Yikes. Hope her eyes improve soon.

Jim, you headed to the game today? If so, have fun!

Oh! Went to the game, but it was not a whole lot of fun. When are we going to just beat a team that we should beat?:sad2: The Jets outplayed us most of the game. I'm starting to think I can get open on our Dbacks and I'm still rehabbing from major knee surgery. :rolleyes1 Lucky for us Sanchez stinks and the Jets receivers can't make plays consistently.

Time to stop forcing the ball to Loyd, stock flea flickers and trick plays and just play football. I hope the Pats start playing better, but this is 3 weeks in a row we gave up a 10 point lead int he 4th quarter. Really frustrating!:headache:

Morning gents. :coffee:

Got most of the weekend's to-do list done. I still have to figure out how to store all the kids' outdoor toys stored in the garage and fit all the cars in. The last two nights DD has been coming into our room with a cough that sounds like a seal bark. Propping her up on every pillow we can find has helped. So far today she's been find. The hardest part so far is to keep the twins from sharing water cups.

Won our last regular season game, 2-0. No subs, so a long 50 minutes. Always glad to see the shut out. My dd got a ball kicked into her nose today - no blood - and after a momentary gasp and play stoppage - she kept playing.

Congrats on the shutout win!:cool1: We saw a girls on the other team last week get a ball in the stomach and face back to back. Kept going without even acknowledgment. Tough kid. Hope your daughter is OK. :goodvibes

My DS got his in 6th grade. No smartphone, just calls and text so we can keep in touch. The main reason was he started sleep overs, going on trips with friends, after school events. It was more to make sure he could get in touch with us or vice versa if needed. He barely uses it because it has no internet, games, etc.... I know most of his friends have smartphones and he would like one, but I feel it is unnecessary. Way to be the uncool dad is the quote I hear a lot.:confused3:mad:

DD has asked because "all my friends have one". She will only get a phone when we need to keep in touch and she starts to be away on her own similar to DS.

Good luck n this one.:rolleyes1 Always a tough subject.

Tim, good pic... :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Thanks! Last week while the opening to SNF was on, DW was saying something to me and I told her to hold on a minute- Faith Hill was singing. She just shook her head at me. :rotfl2:

Who cares, she's hot no matter what she is singing.
::yes::

So, I think that is 7 against the phone idea. DW's argument of "because her friends have one" is not doing well with me. I'm just not sure why she needs a phone, and if we did, I would have AT&T disable the internet. DW insists on spending money on stuff, so I'm sure to lose this one.
I bought Juliana an iPod for Christmas last year.. she was 5. But she always wanted our phone to play games on. She doesn't know the password so she can't DL any apps including free ones without entering it.

That being said... I can't see me buying her a phone for a while. If you do end up buying your DD the phone, which sounds like you have no choice, make sure the internet and text messaging is shut off. I wouldn't let it be in her possession all the time... just when she was going to be away from home.

No, but this one hasn't been put back up yet.

The first Marlins' World Championship (not the second one when they beat the Yankees).
I like the picture... When you goto a game next season tell A-Rod I said hi! :lmao:

Hey Matt,:wave2:

Prayers and well wishes that everything improves. Did the Dr. say her eyesight should get better with treatment? Hope everything works out.

NOT Really!!!
Yeah. You guys got smoked.

Whoa. That's tough for your youngest. Hope it turns out ok.
:headache: It doesn't hurt as bad if you keep your expectations low.

Hey! Those were our wedding vows!

Completely off topic from your last post, but didn't you ask about treatment for an injured achilles for your DS a couple of weeks ago? How is he doing?

He is doing better, thanks for remembering.:thumbsup2 We have been icing and resting it as much as possible. He goes to hoop and baseball practice, but is not required to go full speed(I let the coaches know he is not to push it). That way he is in decent shape on game days. We got him a brace that has helped a lot and reduces the stress on the tendon while he is playing. It looks like it may take a while to heal completely. We have a 3 week break from all sports coming up soon, then start travel hoops again. Hopefully that will be enough time to get it healed up. We plan to use the brace for the winter season even if it feels better to make sure it heals completely. He really is too stubborn to keep him away from things all together.:rolleyes1

Man, you guys flew through the pages this weekend. Praise, prayers, thanks, bacon, etc.

It would be awesome to have an NHL team in Milwaukee, but it will never happen. Too many arena issues - the Bradley Center (home of the NBA Bucks) is one of the oldest in the NBA and has maxed out it's tiny suite revenue generation. And with Chicago just 70 miles down the road, I can't see the NHL coming here.

I remember when I used to be able to watch hockey. :sad1:

Actually, their best bet will be to fire Cam Cameron. Can somebody point out to me where he's actually had success in his career??? :confused3

Cam "Cam" Cameron doesn't seem to run the most explosive offense, does he? What happened to the big-deal hurry-up offense they were supposed to run? :confused3

I don't really have room to talk. I'm just grateful the Eagles didn't lose this weekend. They were giving 2 points to the bye.

Hey! Those were our wedding vows!

I'm sorry, I just can't think of Cam Cameron without thinking about his most successful season at Indiana being a sub 500 season with Antwaan Randle-El at QB. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

That and then he was OC in San Diego and by the time he was done working with Brees they were calling for Phillip Rivers to take over. That seemed to work out well. :rolleyes1

The man may come up with some good systems, but he just finds ways to take his biggest weapons out of the game for some unkown reason... ie, Ray Rice.
