DIS Dads DDC XXII - End of Summer Bash

Sorry, us New England guys will have to root for the PAts this weekend! How about we root for the Titans in the next 15 games?

I won't be rooting for the Titans, but I will be rooting against the Pats, as always.

I've been watching Matt Light on ESPN, and that's all I need to know about the Pats right there. We're going to see how durable Tom Brady really is this year when he's getting picked up off the ground whenever he drops back to pass.

By the way... when you see someone you had college classes with retire from the NFL, it really is an "I'm getting old" moment.

Ok I can accept that, titans are going to come at Brady from the start to see if he can hold up, they gotta do something to keep from getting killed like they did a few years ago in NE

Well thank you. These pictures are supposed to keep dreams alive, wonders amazed, and love everlasting for the best magical place in the world! I may take a job in marketing if they offer me the position plus more pay. I have seen some careers take off depending where you go here. Right now there is plenty of directions I can go from where I am. If I go down the Marketing road I will never have to where dress clothes anymore, all polos and tan pants lol. ]

Look at the bright side. I have a LExus and it's $170 just to have the 5K service. . You do get free bagels, muffins and non alcoholic drinks though. So that makes it worth it, right?

My DS is 12, he got the phone when he was 10 years old and started to spend more time on sleepovers, day trips with friends, etc... It was not an easy decision, but we wanted to make sure he could call if he needed something. We have always been a little more strict than most parents we know, but are trying to keep the helicoptor parenting to a minimum as he gets older. It is not an iphone or smart phone, pretty basic. Keeps it a phone and not another video game/toy.

My DD9 on the other hand is just waiting to use the excuse, "he got one when he was 10". Turns 10 in October so we'll have to see how that goes.

We got an extra line for dd 10 to take on sleepovers or dance class, but she doesn't get to carry it to school. She wants a FB account as well.

I hate it when the Cowboys win and I pick against them. I think they have cost me more picks than any other team.

I like it when they win, but I wrongly pick their games the most.

Sometimes just because you can do it doesn't always make it worth while. It seems like half the time when I go to do a simple repair it turns into an all day long thing with 3 or 4 trips into town to get something else I didn't think I needed. Sometimes it is just easier to let somebody else do it and use your Saturday for something more productive. :

No Facebook for either. I have one, but only use it sparingly. We set the limit at 15 yo before they can have thier own and that they are required to have me friended no matter how much they hate me. Have heard some stories from friends that I would rather avoid.

Yeah I had a friend that worked in naval intelligence and their daughter at 14 was talking to older males and said something one time that was deemed important and the navy got involved and it was a huge bit of craziness. So she wasn't allowed to have a fb page until 18 because of those two situations.

So ours won't get one perhaps til 17-18yrs old and that is with us being permeant friends on the list!

Sadly, I was left on the sidelines this year in the DisDads league. I was new to the thread and only a spot on the waiting list was open. Ther's always next year. This was in a local league up here. Good luck. I'll watch them for ya and let you know what happens.

I guess you missed the original post where he refused to wear a rain jacket along with the umbrella. That was what was frustrating. He doesn't wear a hat to school because he is not allowed to wear it in school. It was a tropical downpour at the time. He didn't complain about being wet when he got home so I guess he would rather be wet than uncool.
