Need some help guys. DW dropped her smartphone in the water. It was powered off and it is sitting in rice to absorb the moisture. Any recommendations?

I have a colleague who dropped hers in a port-a-potty once. Some volunteers fished it out for her and put it in a baggy with some rice. Surprisingly it did start working again but she couldn't being herself to use it.

Only recommendation I have... don't cook the rice.

Thanks for the help.

its alittle grossier then that, some friends and I somehow got some kodiac wintergreen on the way to go see mars attacks, I had never dipped before, they kept telling me about the buzz i would get so i put some dip in and alittle bit i started getting a buzz, some point i swallowed alittle and started feeling sick, in the middle of the movie I got sick all over the back of a couple in front of us (they didnt notice) until the guy reached over to put his arm around the girl and the rest tells it self, they were not happy at all and I was sick for about a day

Yeah, that's what I used. Great stuff. Solution - change movie seats.

Ok, so we really only need to be in the same bed for 5 minutes, right? Nobody else said it. If someone snored enough, then I guess it would be ok. Different strokes for different folks.

I wondered when someone was going to make a comment like that :rotfl2: Now and then when I get home late I find my spot in the bed filled by someone else...on those nights I just go stretch out in what ever bed is vacant :lmao: I can't imagine that being the norm though....but whatever floats your boat is fine with me!

Thanks for the help.

lol, I couldnt walk back in, i was so embarrased. and congrats to you on quitting and staying quit, its tough. def would like to do something that i couldnt do while smoking at some point and running the disney parks at the buttcrack of dawn sounds perfect one day :goodvibes

Sounds like a plan. Need a highly paid assistant? I'm available.

The experience of selling burritos together in Mexico, running from the Fed-tipped-off IRS, will be richly rewarding, I assure you. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

But seriously, keep it in rice as long as possible. If you take it out to test and it doesn't sound right, put it back in for another stretch. I've seen a few phones come back from the graveyard due to rice...

Knew I could count on you, Norm! :thumbsup2

And 5 minutes?! Impressive, Norm! :worship:

OK, I hope everyone is doing well. Been a busy few days, nothing worth noting and ive missed several pages but yall have said no need to catch up so ill go with that, if any one asked a question to me since the 8th i missed it, sorry, but im guessing noone asked me a question or a statement lol. and Norm , I went last Jan while a friend of my ran the Disney Half and of course I didnt see it but it sounds like a blast and their Donald medal was awesome, I would also like to run one, one day. Im in day 5 of quitting smoking (part of the reason I havent been on) so hopefully one day I can, maybe this can be the start of a DisDads group marathon run one year.

Keep it up! If Casey can start running, and I can lose 60 lbs (although I gained 30 of it back...), you can do it!

I thought you were always unreasonable. :lmao:

I'm never unreasonable. A malcontent and ne'er-do-well according to my 10th grade Western Civ teacher, but never unreasonable.

+1. I would settle for doing a 1/2. Congrats on 5-days. A day at a time, or an hour at a time. Whatever it takes.

Noble individuals. Not sure I would have done that.

Thank you for the encouragement, Ive been wanting to quit since my DD was born but always came up with excuses about stress and blah blah blah, I turned 31 on saturday and a week ago i got thinking ive smoked since I was 15 (quit for 7 months twice) so roughly been smoking for 15 years, besides the obvious money spent and health issues, Ive never wanted my DD to not want to hug me cuz I smell like smoke (she hasnt yet but getting close to the age where shes told me, my shirt stinks ) and I really dont like her being around me when I smoke, so it became time to throw out all the excuses and do something about it. sooooo also using WDW as motivation, I dont want to always be searching for those box sized spaces for smokers through out the parks and just enjoy my DDs first trip and my first trip in awhile, so i know I can do this. also let me know if you want to hear my "mars attacks movie/first time dipping" story haha not for the faint of heart

Wow... your story sounds very much like my own journey... except I'm about 5 years ahead of you and smoke free! I started when I was 17 and smoked until DD got old enough to start noticing... about 4 years old. I'd attempted to quit may times before... tried the patch, gum, even medicine... nothing worked until one day I really set my mind to the fact that I did not WANT to smoke any more. Sure, I went through withdrawals, but once I mentally told myself I wasn't a smoker anymore I found it much easier. Prayers helped me too. Good luck fighting the good fight! It's worth it in the end :thumbsup2

Hello men! It's been quite a while since I checked in here. This week has been a blur with everything that's been going on. Moved into a new-to-me office space on Thursday and I'm just now getting settles in. Didn't even have a network connection Friday and Monday. Not only did I change locations, but they want me to start doing different stuff. Now the learning curve kicks in.

After a little drama and over a week of waiting I finally have the new-to-me Cadillac registered and plates on it. Looking forward to driving it on the road daily soon. Here's my new ride:

Guess it's time to go back through 20 pages and catch up :thumbsup2

Nice:thumbsup2, you finally got a car that I would let park in my driveway:lmao:

Well, you can count on me. DW and I share a bed, but I have been evicted for a sick child on occasion.

Thanks. It is still a challenge. You'll make it.

Experience is not the compensation I'm looking for.

Let's hope so.

That includes me begging and pleading for 4 of those minutes.

I'm never unreasonable. A malcontent and ne'er-do-well according to my 10th grade Western Civ teacher, but never unreasonable..

YOu sent your malcontent rain cloud to my house. Took car to mechanic to replace starter. While AAA is at house to tow, DW drops her phone into storm drain. Of all places outside - the storm drain. Got it in rice. Then, oldest dd is taunting youngest dd outside by stealing her bike. Youngest dd tries to run down listen and goes hands and knees and first on street. She is bloody. I go to help her and roll my ankle off the curb. It swelled up like there was an extra fist on the outside of my ankle. Elevated, ice, and ibuprofen and pain.

I need a giant reset button.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Too funny!!

I've changed my rules over the years of things I will not allow, but 2 rules have stayed firm

1 - No foreign vehicles allowed in the driveway
&
2- No Veggie Burgers of any shape or form allowed on the grille

Morning guys. :surfweb:

It could have serious repercussions, depending on the space time continuum and how many gigawatts the ride produces (1.21 would be very bad)... :scared1:

But yes, as long as we don't end up in Canada, ever, all is fine. :thumbsup2

I'm sure in your future, plutonium is available at every corner drugstore. But in 1955, it's a little hard to come by

Morning, all!

Quick story to spark discussion.....

What do you guys think? How often does this happen? And can sleeping separately be a normal and acceptable part of a good/healthy marraige?
Being a divorce attorney, that story is not implausible, but generally, separate beds is a portent of a possible marriage breakdown.
