Morning Men.
Well we will see if our it dept got things fixed last night. One of our buildings get stuck by lightning yesterday, blew up a fire alarm and messed up our phones and network. I heard a pop on the wall that my computer is plugged into.

My computers are off the network, while my bosses computer is not. When i call people thier phones don't ring but when they call me mine does. I could get into my voice mail but others couldn't get the voicemail i sent them.

Fun times fun times.

Finally Friday.

Strawberry plants got held up in CANADA so I am behind at least a week on that project. Almost another inch of rain yesterday so I can't get in the fields. My research assistant is off and we didn't get everything on the fire marshal's report addressed. SWMBO and Jr. SWMBO are returning on Monday.

Rough end to the week and the summer.

Morning dads,
Yesterdays rain turned out to be pretty sporadic - some drizzle, some real rain, a fair amount of misting. Good, but not great. It's a slow moving system, however, so the rain has continued into today. It's probably too late to help any of the local corn, but the soybeans might really be helped by it.

Too bad it means that I will have to mow the lawn again at some point.

The son is sick - same thing happened after Scout camp last year. I think it is the swimming that does it - even with the plugs in, he can get some water in his ears, and he has a tendency to swallow some of the lake water while he is swimming. Slight fever, and kind of whiny - hopefully it passes soon.

GenCon is coming soon - I really am behind on getting ready for it.

As an aside, it is 90% that she is going to run the full.

But I'm assuming you'll still get up at 3am on Saturday to support us, right?

That was a terrible run and the director took too long to admit to fault.
I work for Children's so I usually run or work the run, but the last 2 years Children's has not paid for our entry so I have not been around the race the last two years. It is a good event just doesn't work in to my race plans a lot. My mom works the lakefront marathon every year and we have been taking a relay team in the near future, not this year thou ToT and Wine & Dine are our fall races.

My wife works for Children's too. It sounds like they weren't raising enough money so they are encouraging the different departments to compete against each other to raise more money.
Also, I'm supposed to ask what you do for CHW. DW says that if you work in IT and can get her computer problems fixed that you just found a new best friend.

Unplanned day off at home with the kids today. DS5 was throwing up all night. he really loves his loft bed, but when you give projectile vomit an extra 4 feet of free fall onto a hardwood floor, it splatters like a son of a gun. Cleaning that up at 2am was no fun.

His daycare said there is a 24 hour bug going around - 1/2 the staff was out with it. It had better be only 24 hours - we get on an airplane for WDW in 7 days!

Well that’s not the way to go about getting out of work (I do not miss those day-care bugs).

I hope the little guys gets better quickly. Around here we have been fighting off mid summer colds. Everyone seems to be getting it. Not nearly as bad as a stomach virus. Looking like some rain today! Maybe the grass will go back to green soon.

Recovering from Patella tendon replacement surgery back in December still. Once cleared, my DS12 and I plan to start training for a Disney race. Woo-Hoo!
